Chapter 201 I Believe in Gino
Chapter 201 I Believe in Gino
The Moon is a spherical celestial body that revolves around the Earth within the solar system; it is Earth's natural satellite.
As early as ancient times, people have entrusted their emotions and longing to the full moon above the dark sky.
But once you break through the atmosphere and leave Earth, you'll discover that the beautiful full moon you see from above looks like a pockmarked, pale yellow pancake in the universe.
Clark gazed silently at the moon not far away.
A massive spacecraft was parked on the lunar soil.
Clark's gaze swept across the lunar surface, trying to find the American flag that Armstrong had planted on the moon.
But, the area he looked over was empty.
Clark swallowed hard, never expecting that those damned American politicians had lied to the public; they had never actually landed on the moon.
With a jumble of thoughts running through his mind, he was suddenly shoved from behind by two Kryptonians.
"We've arrived!"
Clark snapped out of his daze and could feel the weightlessness that came with the Kryptonian fighter slowly landing.
"Buzz".
The fighter jet's hatch opened, and two Kryptonian giants pushed Clark, one in front and one behind, toward the Kryptonian warship not far away.
A feeling of weightlessness came from beneath my feet, but the expected suffocation did not come the moment I stepped into space.
Clark was forced to walk toward the warship.
As the spacecraft door opened, the three of them stepped inside.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.
But the next instant, as air entered his respiratory tract through his nose, an indescribable pain swept over his entire body.
"Pfft!" Clark opened his mouth and suddenly spat out a mouthful of scarlet blood, his body collapsing onto the deck of the warship as if it had lost its weight.
Despite his physical weakness, his eyes, strained to lift, caught sight of a pair of gray combat boots slowly approaching.
"Karl El, son of Krypton."
"Joe El's son."
The thick thighs slowly came to a stop in front of Clark, and then the legs bent down, revealing a rugged face.
General Zod smiled and reached out a finger to gently pinch Clark's chin. His smile vanished as his gaze fell on the blood at the corner of Clark's mouth. He said coldly, "It seems life on Earth has turned you into a coward, Karl El."
"I'm not Carl, I'm... cough cough!" Clark struggled to raise his arm to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth: "I'm Clark, the farm boy from the Kent family..."
"Is that so?" Before Clark could finish speaking, his thick arm suddenly grabbed the boy's head and slammed his cheek hard onto the warship's deck.
The sturdy material quickly caused Clark's nose to bleed, and Zod's emotionless voice slowly rang out: "How ridiculous, a Kryptonian who can't stand Kryptonian air."
"You betrayed the Kryptonians, just like your damned father, Jor-El!"
"But it doesn't matter anyway." Zod sighed, his hand that had been pressing down on Clark's head now gripping Clark's black hair, lifting his head up. The man stared at the boy expressionlessly and said, "Now, hand me the key to the Codex of Life!"
"The key? The Codex of Life?" Clark gasped weakly, shaking his head. "I don't understand what you're talking about."
"Heh, I enjoy dealing with stubborn idiots like you." Zod chuckled and shook his head, but in the next instant, his other fist slammed into Clark's abdomen.
The excruciating pain caused Clark to groan, and Zod's mocking voice rang in his ears: "At this point, you don't expect your Earth friend named Gino to save you, do you?"
"I...I think so." Even with blood streaming from his nose wetting his face, Clark's swollen face broke into a sunny smile: "My best friend will come to save me."
"Why?" General Zod frowned slightly, then retorted sarcastically, "This is the moon!"
"You don't actually think he can fly to the moon, do you?"
Although he didn't understand why the message left by Joe El mentioned Gino's name, Zod smiled confidently and said, "I've already sent Fiona. Your friend is probably dead."
"Hehehe." Clark chuckled and shook his head, prompting Zod's displeasure: "What are you laughing at?"
"I laugh at your stupidity." Clark's eyes were full of determination: "You don't know who Gino is."
"His power is far beyond imagination!"
"I believe in Gino!"
Gino's image flashed through his mind: flight, freezing gaze, terrifying power. Everything he had experienced in the past made Clark choose to believe in Gino unconditionally, just as he would choose to search for Gino if he ever disappeared.
Well, the chuunibyou Clark even wanted to shout something like, "Don't underestimate our bond."
"Madman." Zod stared at Clark, whose face was covered in blood, with pity. He thought that the blow might have damaged Clark's head.
"Take him away and use the equipment to extract his memories!" Zod waved his hand, which made Clark's expression change. As a proper high school student, he often fantasized about interesting movie plots for people over 18.
Zod then ordered, "Also, contact Fiona and ask why she hasn't returned yet."
Before he could finish speaking, his deputy rushed over to report: "General, our warships have detected that Lieutenant Fiona's spaceship is heading this way."
"Bring her to see me." Zod, with his hands behind his back, gestured for his subordinates to take Clark away.
Clark was dragged away like a dead dog, and the massive warship returned to silence. Zod turned around and looked again at the blue planet outside the window, muttering to himself, "It won't be long before this becomes the second Krypton."
Zod was lost in his fantasy of rebuilding Krypton, but a noise from nearby interrupted his reverie.
"what!"
"Krypton, my hand!"
A cacophony of chaotic screams echoed throughout the spaceship, only to quickly fade into silence.
Hearing the noises coming from all around, General Zod frowned slightly.
"Whoosh~" As she took her first steps, the Kryptonian armor she wore rattled and clanged.
Zod strode toward the corner of the warship.
As he turned the corner and his gaze swept across the long corridor, he saw Clark, his face bruised and swollen, leaning against the wall, panting heavily, but with an excited expression on his face.
Not far away, Fiona stood respectfully behind someone, her humble posture with her head bowed was enough to prove her respect for this person.
Zod stared intently at the figure.
Unlike the Kryptonians clad in Kryptonian armor, the boy was only wearing a thin white shirt, sandals, and sweatpants. He didn't look like he was there to fight; he looked more like he was going out for a dog walk.
"you…"
Just as Zod was about to speak, the figure in front of him vanished in an instant.
The next instant, a sharp pain shot through his abdomen, and a terrifying force sent his body flying backward.
The sturdy armor collided with the spaceship's bulkhead, the powerful force causing the body to shatter the bulkhead like a cannonball.
Zod tumbled off the warship in a sorry state, crashing into a crater on the side of the ship.
