Chapter 17 I still prefer to see you in your rebellious state.

Gino still remembers the education subject taught by the tutor his father hired when he was a child.

There was one class that explored society.

Gino remembers several questions the teacher asked.

What is the essence of how society functions?

In Gino’s view,

It is a bloody struggle involving the plunder, exploitation, and destruction of social resources.

The amount of social resources one possesses then evolves into a system of equal power.

Those with abundant resources will have more privileges.

So, what is power?

It is an invisible and intangible, yet lurking in the darkness, a brutal beast that kills without a trace beneath the sea.

As a second-generation heir, Gino knew that his family's power would allow him to roam freely in the free United States.

He disliked using power to oppress others, but that didn't mean he wouldn't use his power, especially against a brainless brute like Watt.

The verbal offense wouldn't have caused Gino to break Watt's arm, but punishment for Watt was necessary.

How can Watt be made to pay the price?

He only needs one phone call to make Watt pay for his actions.

This is the power of authority.

Outside the campus, everyone was quite shocked by Gino's actions.

Whitney swallowed nervously, her arm in a cast throbbing with pain.

What did he hear? The Luther Corporation actually donates half a million dollars to the school every year?!

This means that many of the faculty and staff's salaries come from funding from the Luther Group. If the Luther Group really stops funding the high school, the faculty and staff's salaries may be cut by a large margin.

Many students shared this view, and many focused their attention on Coach Watt, whose face was ashen.

Coach Watt clenched his fists, vowing that if they were in a secluded corner, he would beat this damn brat to a pulp.

As he thought this, Coach Watt stared at Gino’s calm and collected face with venomous eyes.

He thought the kid would resort to some student trick like telling his parents, but he never expected him to flip the table!

Would the school give up its annual $500,000 grant for its own benefit?

Coach Watt shook his head inwardly, deceiving himself as he thought:

"No, I led my town's football team to four championships. The school won't expel me!"

Gino was unaware of Watt's current conflicted and tense state of mind, but even if he knew, he wouldn't care.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, the call connected, and Gino smiled as he pressed the hands-free button on his phone with his thumb.

"Hey?" Lex's voice came through the phone. "Get to the point. I'm in a meeting at the company."

Lex's style remains simple and efficient. Besides being a scientist, Lex is also a qualified seed expert.

"Lex, I was just threatened by a teacher to wash the school's stinky socks for a week," Gino said calmly, staring at Coach Watt with a mocking look in his eyes. "I think we should stop funding the school every year."

"Washing socks?" Lex, who was sitting in the head seat of an empty conference room on the other end of the phone, leaned back in his boss's chair and couldn't help but let out a cold laugh.

Someone actually threatened to make his brother wash his socks?! His brother has never even washed his own socks.

Lex's first reaction was to pressure the school to fire the reckless PE teacher.

But then he thought that Gino must have his own plans, so Lex paused for a moment and said, "I will have my secretary inform the school principal."

After saying that, Lex hung up the phone and looked at his secretary, who was standing by in a tense atmosphere: "Go and inform Smallville High School that, starting today, the Lex Group will stop funding the school."

The secretary paused for a moment, then subconsciously reminded him, "Boss, but the funding for the school can offset our tax revenue."

"Based on profits, if funding to campuses were stopped, local businesses could have to pay up to a million dollars in taxes each year."

"That's not important!" Lex rudely interrupted his secretary, his eyes fixed on her. "All I know is that those guys humiliated my brother, and they have to show some respect!"

Meeting Lex's cold gaze, the secretary's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly lowered her head obediently: "I'll contact him immediately."

On the other side of the school, Gino hung up the phone, a provocative, smug grin spreading across his face: "Coach Watt."

Gino snapped his fingers: "Want to guess how long it will take for Principal Shimonoseki and the others to arrive?"

As he spoke, Gino glanced down at his watch and said, "I don't believe it will take more than a minute."

Hearing Gino's words, Coach Watt's expression grew even colder. He wanted to open his mouth and say something to soften his tone, but the bustling crowd around him prevented him from making a sound.

At this moment, the anger in his heart had long since dissipated, and Coach Watt was horrified to find that he actually felt a bit of regret.

His long-term comfortable life made him forget the first rule of survival in America: don't mess with the Taiko family.

Now is the time for him to pay the price for his actions.

"Make way, make way!"

Shouts came from afar.

The crowd of onlookers was roughly pushed aside as Principal Guan, dressed in a suit, barged in with six or seven stern-faced school leaders. They jogged along the way, their ties even slightly askew.

They didn't bother to tidy up their appearance.

"Mr. Gino Luther!" Upon seeing Gino, Principal Guan's face immediately lit up with a warm smile. Like a caring elder, he grasped Gino's arm and inquired with concern: "I heard someone spoke rudely to you?"

As he spoke, Principal Guan glanced at Coach Watt, who was standing there dumbfounded, with a look of disgust.

The faculty and staff behind him were also staring at Watt with disgust, and the meaning in their eyes made Coach Watt feel scared: they were planning to fire him!

The students stared in shock at the sudden appearance of the school leaders. Chloe nudged Peter and Clark, who were engrossed in watching the drama unfold, and said in a low voice with her head down, "It only took forty seconds."

"Yeah, because I skipped class yesterday, Coach Watt made me wash the school's football team's socks for a week." Gino stared at Watt's bluish face with a half-smile. Watt's original arrogant demeanor had vanished, and now he looked like an unemployed middle-aged corporate slave with his eyes full of confusion.

But Gino had no pity for the guy. If he were just an ordinary student, then enduring a week of humiliation by washing his socks would be his inescapable fate.

Therefore, Gino is stingy with his kindness and compassion when dealing with evil people.

Being kind to evil people is being cruel to good people.

"So that's how it is." Principal Guan frowned, inwardly cursing Watt for drinking himself to death after get off work every day.

You think you're worthy of having a rich kid wash your rugby players' socks?

While thinking, Principal Guan gave the other leaders a look. No matter what, the matter had already happened, and they had to find a way to quell the Luther family's anger and keep the essential $500,000.

"Coach Watt!" The leader in charge of student conduct stepped forward and said sternly, "According to the school's Student Conduct Code, students who skip class only need to write a 1,000-word self-criticism. Your behavior is a serious violation of school rules!"

"Moreover, treating a student in this way will cause enormous harm to their physical and mental well-being!"
