Chapter 16 Roaring Watt
Chapter 16 Roaring Watt
"What kind of look is that?" Gino noticed Chloe's gaze, and without any politeness, reached out and pressed down on the girl's head, gently rubbing Chloe's short blond hair.
The girl winced in pain and cried out, "I just washed my hair!"
Chloe pitifully covered her head, forcefully pushing away Gino's mischievous large hand with her small hands.
"This car is a token of my gratitude to Clark because he saved my brother," Gino explained, pulling his arm back and putting his hands in his pockets.
"What? You saved Gino's brother?" Pete looked at Clark with some surprise. "No wonder you didn't come to school that day."
"It was nothing," Clark said, scratching his cheek a little sheepishly. Little Black Pete sighed deeply, "I should have skipped class that day too."
"Come on, you can't swim," Chloe bluntly exposed Pete's lie.
The group chatted and laughed as they walked toward the teaching building.
The campus was bustling with people early in the morning. Gino's gaze swept across the crowd and landed on Whitney, who was in a cast. He was surrounded by school team members in baseball jackets and was being led by the physical education teacher toward the playground.
The school's physical education teacher was a middle-aged white man with a large build and hair gel, which made him look like a mob boss.
"Wait a minute, kids." Coach Watt frowned, his fat cheeks bulging as if a large "川" character was etched on his forehead.
The man loosened his collar, his fat belly trembling slightly. He stared at a group of four people walking towards the teaching building not far away, his gaze landing on Gino.
"Is that the kid who hurt your arm, Whitney?" Coach Watt glanced at Whitney out of the corner of his eye.
Whitney gritted her teeth and nodded slightly: "Yes, I suspect it's him."
Although the incident of her severed hand became a mystery in the small town, Whitney's intuition told her that it was probably Gino who was behind it.
"I remember, he skipped my PE class yesterday?" Coach Watt narrowed his eyes slightly, his fiery temper easily ignited. The man strode towards Gino, the rugby players behind him exchanging glances before following Coach Watt, intending to watch Gino make a fool of himself.
Their coach is not a good-tempered person; he has a fiery temper and often beats or scolds the players.
"Kids!" Coach Watt yelled, stopping the four who were on their way to school.
"Oh, it's Coach Watt. He probably wants to ask you about missing class yesterday." Little Black Pete shrank back, clearly terrified of the coach.
Chloe gave Gino a "good luck" look, thinking he was in for a rough day.
Only Clark looked worried, his body tense, fearing that Gino and Coach Watt would clash, and then Gino would break Coach Watt's arm in a fit of anger.
He needs to be prepared to stop Gino.
"What's the matter?" Gino stopped and turned to look at Coach Watt, who was several heads shorter than him.
From Gino’s perspective, Coach Watt looked like an angry groundhog at that moment.
Coach Watt stared at Gino, their eyes meeting, as if an invisible flame was burning in the air.
However, having witnessed many storms since childhood, the difference between Coach Watt and Gino in terms of mentality and composure was as vast as the ocean. In the end, Coach Watt couldn't bear the somber atmosphere and coldly asked, "Gino Luther, right?"
"It's me." Gino nodded indifferently. He wasn't stupid; he could tell that this middle-aged man had ill intentions, so Gino's reaction wasn't exactly enthusiastic.
"What can I do for you?"
Gino was interrupted by Coach Watt before he could finish speaking.
"Shut up, brat!" Coach Watt's voice was loud, practically a roar as he spoke to Gino. His bull-like eyes were wide open as he stared at Gino, pointing at himself with his right hand and then at Gino in the distance: "I'm saying this, you listen, understand?"
Before Gino could react, the man said, "Given your truancy yesterday, I think you should be punished."
The man turned to look at his football team and sneered, "I don't care if you're from the Luther family or whatever."
"In my school, skipping class must be punished!"
The middle-aged man stared at Gino's handsome face and grinned maliciously:
"And your punishment is to wash the socks of all the starting players on the rugby team for a week!"
As soon as he finished speaking, his teammates behind him burst into mocking laughter.
"Wow, looks like I won't be able to change my socks for weeks."
"I think he should change the shoes three times a day and wash more pairs."
Gino remained calm as he listened to the group's sarcasm, but the three people beside him couldn't stand it anymore.
"Coach, this violates school rules!" Chloe spoke first. "The punishment for students skipping class is only to write a 1000-word self-criticism, not to wash other people's socks."
"That's right, you're abusing your power, Coach Watt." Clark said with a serious expression, taking a firm step forward as he spoke, demonstrating his determination to stand with "them".
"Me too!" Little Black Pete gritted his teeth, hesitated for a long time, and then slowly raised his hand.
"Shut up! You have no right to speak here!" Watt gritted his teeth, glaring at the three. "Get out of here before I lose my temper!"
"Otherwise, you'll have to wash his socks too!"
Hearing Watt's roar, the three of them turned pale. For three naive high school students, the power of the roaring Coach Watt instilled fear in them.
At that moment, many passing students were secretly observing the group, and many were whispering among themselves about what had happened.
"So, did you hear what I said?" Coach Watt looked at Gino, who remained calm but silent, with a smug look on his face.
Even if it's the Luther family, he's just a high school student. It's not difficult for him to suppress a high school student with the authority he has built up over the past ten years as a coach.
Looking at the arrogant Watt, even Clark couldn't help but feel angry, but he found that Gino was surprisingly calm.
"Watt, roaring won't earn you people's respect." Under Clark's gaze, Gino spoke slowly. The boy sighed and stared at the school badge on Watt's clothes: "If I remember correctly, the Luther Corporation gives the town's high school $50 every year for school development and faculty benefits."
"I've always thought that the teachers at Smallville High School are all polite and well-mannered."
"However, your performance has greatly changed my perception of the school." Gino calmly took out his phone and dialed Lex's number. "Perhaps I should have my brother stop funding the high school."
Gino held the phone to his ear, flashing Watt a wicked smile:
"I hope I can still hear your roar when the school leaders find out the reason."
