Chapter 163 No one can control me
Chapter 163 No one can control me
The warm orange light shone on the mottled walls, outlining a warm and gentle color scheme.
The musty, rotten air in the dungeon, combined with the red orb of light that seemed to symbolize hope and shimmer with a dazzling orange glow, created a strange atmosphere of decadence and hope.
Gino leaned quietly against the wall, gazing at the enormous sphere of light that flickered and spoke in human language: "As the last descendant of Krypton, Kal-El carried the hopes and dreams of all the people of Krypton during his journey across the universe."
"He was born exceptional, and he was meant to bear all of this."
"But his ties with humanity constrained him and limited his potential."
"Humans, these tiny, filthy, and despicable creatures, are as ugly to us as uncivilized gorillas, yet Karl El has fallen in love with humans."
Gino listened to all of this silently, but in his heart he scoffed at Joe El's ideas.
If this were the world he used to live in, he would agree with the other person's point of view, but this is the DC Universe, the center of the universe is Earth, and almost all major events revolve around Earth and humanity.
The term "chosen ones" is a more fitting description of humanity.
What annoyed Gino even more was Joe Al's condescending attitude.
It's as if humans are nothing more than ants under its feet, to be trampled on at any time.
"But you are different."
Joe Elton paused, and a gentle beam of light, like the holy light of God, emanated from the sphere and fell softly on Gino, like a model stepping onto a grand stage.
"Gino Luther, I've been observing you for much longer than you think."
"From Jerome in the beginning, to you killing that fat gym teacher with your own hands."
The light sphere's voice carried a hint of excitement and relief.
"I've watched you grow up step by step, and I've seen you change."
"You don't have the weakness of Clark Kent. You know what you want and are willing to work hard for it."
"The glory and mission of Kryptonians should be inherited by you, not by the loser."
"This is your innate mission."
Joe El's voice came from inside the sphere of light. Then, the originally crimson sphere of light gradually changed, forming the shape of a small Earth as if it were 3D printed.
"And now, it's time to accept your fate."
The original orange light went out, and a dark curtain swept around, while the serene Earth model slowly floated in mid-air.
It continuously projected eerie blue beams of light in all directions, and in the next instant, one by one, people familiar with Gino slowly walked out of the blue light curtain.
Their figures flickered, like images projected by some kind of high-tech technology.
The blonde girl stood there expressionless, while Jor-El's voice echoed through the underground prison:
"Chloe, this girl who claims to have a crush on you, was actually in love with Clark Kent before you came to this town. This is a betrayal."
Dressed in a suit, Lionel, looking every bit the business elite, strode to the front of the stage.
Jor El continued, "Lionel, your nominal biological father, has been secretly collecting your saliva, hair, and other substances ever since you awakened your Kryptonian talents, trying to uncover the secrets of your talents' origin. This is greed."
Before he finished speaking, another bald man stepped out of the light screen.
Lex stood there silently, his eyes glazed over. Jor-El's voice rang out again: "Lex Luthor, your brother, also resented your abilities and talents when we were young. That was jealousy."
"So," Joe El said quietly, "humans are such a despicable race."
"Come with me."
Jor-El's voice rose higher and higher: "Construct a world for Kryptonians!"
"Transforming the Earth into Krypton"
"Okay, shut up."
A sudden outbreak,
The boy interrupted Joe El's rant with an impatient tone.
The boy rubbed his neck, sighed, stared at the rotating Earth model, and said dejectedly, "I thought you could come up with some profound theories, but it turns out you're still sticking to your dark and gritty stuff."
"boom!"
The boy took a small step.
The footsteps landed, creating a dent in the solid floor.
The earth shattered, and Gino said with a mocking expression, "So-called betrayal, jealousy, and love are all basic human emotions."
While Lionel is indeed a scumbag, he does not represent all of humanity.
Gino stood with his hands behind his back, indicating his opinion:
No one is perfect, and no one is noble.
"People cannot choose the thoughts that suddenly arise in their hearts, but they can control their behavior."
"Chloe was never with me. Whether she liked me or someone else is her business."
"As the saying goes, 'Judge by actions, not intentions.' Perhaps you Kryptonians should learn more about philosophical thought."
"On the contrary, it's you."
Gino took another step forward, and an invisible biological force enveloped the dungeon like a giant iron curtain.
"Click-clack~"
The chains shattered under the repulsive force, the dungeon's iron doors twisted, and everything was distorted under the influence of the biological field, including "Joe El" floating in mid-air.
"you!"
The voice inside the sphere carried a hint of shock; he had never expected that the boy in front of him would develop Kryptonian abilities to such a formidable degree.
"And, most importantly..."
Gino's eyes lit up with a crimson light that seemed to churn like lava.
"who I am."
"Or what should I do?"
The boy's head moved forward, and in the next instant, a deadly heat stream compressed from extreme heat shot from his eyes and roared toward "Jor El".
"Buzz!"
A layer of silvery-gray energy enveloped the sphere of light, and a heat flow strong enough to melt steel fell upon it, splashing ripples.
"It's my decision."
Gino strode forward again, each step breaking through the solid ground beneath his feet.
The wind-blown short sleeves were created by the collision of heat energy and light curtain.
"No one can!"
Gino has further increased its output power.
Every cell in his body was roaring, operating at full speed to supply the solar energy accumulated by Gino through the sun day after day to his eyes.
"boom!"
Far larger and more awe-inspiring than before, a massive heatwave, as tall and thick as a person, roared and crashed onto the light screen.
"No one can control me!"
As Gino roared out those words, accompanied by a continuous barrage of terrifying heat vision.
The poor sphere of light, like a small boat, could no longer bear the weight.
"Click!"
A crisp cracking sound rang out as a blazing red stream engulfed the spaceship.
As the spaceship gradually melted and disintegrated in the heat vision, Jor El's slightly exasperated voice echoed resentfully: "Gino Luther, you'll regret this!"
In response, however, came an even more rapid and violent surge of heat.
"Buzz!"
As the red light completely "devoured" the spaceship, it melted the wall behind it.
Joe El's voice no longer echoed. Looking at the charred, foul-smelling spaceship wreckage, Gino sneered, "And most importantly, I am human."
