Chapter 135 Clark vs. Batman

A red SUV roared along the highway connecting the town to the metropolis.

Inside the driver's seat on the right, Clark, wearing sunglasses, held the steering wheel with one hand and rested the other on the window, his right hand outstretched, feeling the cold wind blowing through his fingers—a feeling of freedom.

Kansas doesn't tolerate idlers, and Clark is determined to make a name for himself.

"Finally, we're going to get rid of them."

Clark steered through the corner, the car drifting at 90 mph, the headlights reflecting off the road and the high beams illuminating the road ahead.

On both sides of the road are huge, strangely shaped trees, and the howling and roaring of wolves can be heard from time to time in the forest.

But none of this bothered Clark. He simply drove on, glancing around as he tried to change the music to pass the long, boring night.

But, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something in the distance on the window.

"Um?"

Clark glanced at the car window, looking ahead.

Under the headlights, a huge figure stood silently in the middle of the road.

Clark narrowed his eyes slightly.

The scene in the field of vision gradually became clear.

The dark shadow blocking their path was not a wild beast, but a huge metal battle suit with a unique design and an all-black construction.

The armor had hard barbs sticking out from the elbow joints.

Clark instinctively tried to step on the brakes, but the red gem on his middle finger glowed faintly red.

"Buzz~" A red light flashed in Clark's eyes as well.

The original goodwill disappeared, replaced by a brutality that rose from the depths of their hearts!

A sickly smile crept across Clark's face as he slammed on the gas pedal, saying, "What are you, trying to stop me?"

The engine was fully unleashed under the control of the throttle, flames spewing from the exhaust pipe, and the entire car crashed into the direction of the dark figure like a streak of light.

A kilometer can be covered in an instant.

100 meters.

A few meters.

Until the moment of contact and collision,

Neither side showed any intention of avoiding the other.

until

"boom!"

The armor, made of thorium and mixed with mithril, crashed into the off-road vehicle traveling at 90 mph.

The sheet metal twisted, the water tank shattered and splashed water, and the engine exploded.

"boom!"

The deafening explosion resounded like the first rumble of thunder cast by a god in the desolate universe.

At this moment, no one knows what is happening on the deserted highway.

but,

A violent explosion rang out in the night, followed by scorching, boiling flames. Metal parts of the off-road vehicle flew everywhere, and the bat armor glowed red-hot under the heat of the flames.

Clark crashed into the armor blocking his way like a cannonball.

"Bang!"

A steel body collides with armor built at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars.

The massive impact sent them flying through the air, one after the other, like billiard balls on a pool table.

The two were sent flying backwards one after the other, smashing through the road and leaving hundreds of meters of concrete ruts as their bodies scraped against the metal armor.

The earth wailed and shattered.

They crashed off the road and rolled into the fields, scattering mud and weeds everywhere.

The powerful kinetic energy caused the two to crash into several large trees before finally coming to a stop.

The dust kicked up felt like eating clay when it entered the mouth, making it nauseating.

"Cough cough."

Through the smoke, Clark, his clothes torn and his face covered in mud and paint, staggered to his feet.

He had never been so humiliated, and his heart was filled with rage.

Those emerald eyes gleamed with a terrifying light.

"Buzz~"

Clark's eyes gleamed crimson as his gaze locked onto the massive bat-like armor emerging from the smoke.

Under the pitch-black night sky, the Bat Armor stood like a giant tin can amidst the ruins.

"die!"

Clark's eyes blazed red, and his burning gaze struck the armor like two bolts of lightning.

"Buzz~" The machine roared, and a pale blue light shone on the back of the bat armor. Several technological boosters operated at full power, propelling the incredibly heavy armor outward.

The red beam of light, powerful enough to melt steel, was like a pair of sharp blades cutting through everything. The air burned, and the soil and moisture evaporated, turning into scorched dust.

The ash from burning vegetation is scattered by the wind.

Inside his armor, Batman had no doubt that if he were hit by that deadly beam, even the sturdy titanium metal might not be able to save his life.

"We must act swiftly."

A resolute glint flashed in Batman's eyes, and the next second, he maneuvered his armor and lunged at Clark.

"Armor, initiate ejection procedure, set time to three seconds."

In a second, the Bat Armor changed direction and charged toward Clark.

Clark was somewhat surprised that the bulky "tin can" had given up hiding and chosen to face itself directly.

In two seconds, the Bat Armor closed the distance to Clark as if its life depended on it.

But this suits Clark's mind better.

He raised his head to aim at the armor.

"Buzz!"

A deadly beam shot from his eyes, piercing through the metal armor, which then shattered, sending up a shower of metal fragments.

Three seconds~

"It's over." Clark said in a rather pretentious and indifferent manner, but a figure suddenly leaped out from the dust.

"Bang!"

Batman, with metal arms on his hands, suddenly punched Clark in the face. The force of the blow shattered Clark's sunglasses.

"Thump~"

Clark never imagined that Batman would survive his heat vision.

But there's no going back now. Batman controlled his armor to spray out a blinding chemical agent, which was the hallucinogenic drug he had concocted from the spring water in the underground labyrinth.

"Pfft~"

The medicine splashed into his eyes, and Clark clutched them in agony, howling, "My eyes!"

His vision was blurred, and his cheeks were constantly being "greeted" by Batman's iron fists.

"Bang bang bang!"

Batman, riding on Clark's back, expressionlessly swung his iron fists, striking Clark's cheeks with both hands.

He had already investigated in secret. Clark's parents were both simple and kind farmers, but they raised such an ungrateful person as Clark.

This made Batman abandon any thought he had of guiding this person onto the right path.

All he wanted now was to extract information from Clark and uncover the truth.

"Phew~"

The sound of something cutting through the air whistled past my ears.

A powerful punch landed heavily on his cheek with a dull thud. Batman, still groaning, yelled hoarsely, "Tell me, what's your relationship with Mystic?"

With tears streaming down his face and a completely bewildered expression, Clark frantically waved his hands, trying to pull Batman up. He roared, "What Mysterio? I don't know anything about him!"

"All I know is that I'm going to kill you!"

Batman ignored Clark's taunts and threw another punch, while the device on his fist released more gas to distract Clark and make him struggle to keep up.

The bright moonlight shone on the scorched green grass, and in the center of the grass, Batman roared, panting heavily:

"Lies, excuses!"

Batman punched and tore at Clark like a street thug.

He desperately wanted to know the truth.

Is there really more to the story about the parents' deaths?

The night wind carried the smell of burning grass, and just as Batman was about to give Clark some truth serum...

A cold, chilling voice, sending shivers down Bruce's spine, echoed: "Are you looking for me?"

Thank you so much to the user "幽月刀锋" for the 1000 points! Thank you so much! (Oo)
