Chapter 13 What did you say? I'm listening.

Pain, dizziness, and nausea – these are the physical symptoms Jerome experiences after being punched by Gino.

The young man was lying sprawled on the ground.

His shirt was stained red with blood.

His cheeks were swollen, his brain felt like it was filled with lead, and blood was trickling from his mouth and nose. Jeremy, fighting back nausea, struggled to open his eyes, red from the concussion: "It's you!"

He looked at Gino, who was expressionless and was looking down at Jerome with his arms crossed.

"This is impossible!" Jerome covered his forehead, staring intently at Gino.

That punch just now was something no ordinary person could do.

It's worth noting that Jerome had examined his body after waking up, and the awakened electrical energy had greatly strengthened his physique, to the point that even ordinary bullets might not be able to penetrate his skin.

But Gino broke several of his teeth with just one punch.

If you eliminate all other options, the one that remains is the truth.

The other party has also awakened superpowers!

"What? You look surprised?" Gino scoffed. "Do you feel like you've awakened a superpower, and some kind of awful thought is popping into your head, like 'I'm the chosen one'?"

Gino's eyes were mocking: "Unfortunately, the reality is that I'm far stronger than you."

Gino's words successfully broke Jeremy's defenses. The man's pale face turned from white to red, and then faintly darkened, clearly indicating that he was very angry.

"Shut up!" he roared, raising his arms to unleash the pent-up electricity.

"Crack!"

The thick electric currents, like roaring thunder dragons, each as large as an adult's arm, pounded into Gino's body with ferocious power.

"Hahaha!" Watching the figure engulfed by the electric current, Jerome's eyes gleamed with a morbid glint. "Idiot, did you think I was arguing with you? I was just buying myself time!"

"This is the difference between us—a crushing intellectual defeat!"

Jerome's expression was ferocious as he gritted his teeth and roared, "Die! Soon your brother will be in hell with you!"

Jerome increased the current output again.

Feeling confident that the situation was under control, Jerome became increasingly arrogant and shameless.

Just as Jerome was venting his emotions, a voice came faintly from the electricity: "Jerome, you can't open champagne at halftime."

"What?" Jeremy was stunned, the lightning in his hand gradually fading. "How could you..."

Why didn't you dodge?!

As the smoke cleared, the blond youth stood unharmed, though his custom-made white shirt was now tattered.

"Should we hide?" Gino asked calmly.

"You think it's a matter of intellectual superiority?" Gino extinguished the flames on his shirt, raising an eyebrow as he said, "Actually, your attack poses no threat to me."

As he spoke, Gino slowly walked toward Jerome.

He really didn't know where Jerome's confidence came from; perhaps that punch had damaged Jerome's head.

"You know what?" Gino said calmly, like a cat toying with a mouse, "Originally, I planned to spare your life and take you back, but now..."

As soon as he finished speaking, Gino instantly transformed into a blur and suddenly stood in front of Jerome before he could react.

"Snapped!"

A hand, seemingly made of cast iron, mercilessly gripped Jerome's neck, while his azure eyes stared emotionlessly at Jerome's pale face.

"I will not allow anyone to threaten my family."

"So you might as well just die!"

After saying that, Gino raised his other fist and swung it hard.

"Bang!"

With a burst of power from his arm, a terrifying force tore through the air, creating layers of shockwaves, and a violent fist, accompanied by a strong gust of wind, slammed into Jerome's left cheek.

"Crack!" The fist easily shattered the bone.

A crisp cracking sound rang out, and Jerome's thin cheeks swelled up at a visible speed, with several broken teeth mixed with blood falling from his mouth.

Gino's punch aggravated Jerome's concussion, and the young man felt as if three Ginos were smiling at him.

A buzzing noise came from my ears.

"Ugh~" Jerome let out a meaningless groan.

Gino remained unfazed and raised his fist again. As Gino slowly raised his fist, Jerome trembled inwardly. If he were to receive another punch, he would die!

Suppressing his nausea, Jerome managed to say with difficulty, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

"Please, please let me go."

Faced with the threat of death, the previously stubborn and arrogant Jerome immediately backed down.

"I'm willing to work for you!"

He didn't want to die under Gino's fists, so Jerome's face showed a fawning smile: "Gino, you're right, the strong should humiliate the weak, and I am the weak."

"Heh." Seeing Jerome give in, Gino slightly loosened his left hand, allowing Jerome to catch his breath.

Seeing Gino's ambiguous smile, Jerome quickly pleaded again, "Letting me go is more valuable than killing me!"

"I can control electricity, and I have super speed. I'm amazing!"

Gino tilted his head and nodded in agreement, saying, "You're right, it's better to be alive than dead."

Seeing Gino's softened attitude, Jerome breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "Yes, it was all a misunderstanding before. I'm very sorry."

"But."

Gino tilted his head, a slight smile playing on his lips: "I don't need you to live."

"Why didn't you apologize when you attacked my brother?"

"It's too late to apologize now."

Gino stared coldly into Jerome's eyes, which were filled with cowardice.

Gino sneered, "If it weren't for the Luther family's financial support, you would have died long ago from being unable to pay your medical bills and had to be euthanized."

The American healthcare system is not as cheap and affordable as advertised. On the contrary, in America, only the wealthy can afford to get sick, while the poor can only numb themselves with painkillers.

"So," Gino drawled, "the dead Jerome is the good Jerome."

As soon as he finished speaking, Gino raised his fist.

"What!?" Jerome's expression changed drastically. His initial joy was instantly replaced by anger and resentment. The man roared with a ferocious expression, "Fuck! You demon, I curse you!"

Jerome was furious. He had been playing a trick on him! From the very beginning, the other man had intended to kill him.

"Bang!"

Before Jerome could finish speaking, an iron fist, far more terrifying than the last one, slammed into his head.

The hard skull shattered instantly under the iron fist, as easily as grinding tofu.

Some blood splattered on Gino’s face, making his expression look even more gloomy and terrifying.

White debris mixed with skull fragments lay scattered on the ground, leaving only a headless corpse convulsing wildly, a testament to the resentment of its owner before death.

"Excuse me, what did you say?" Gino carried the headless corpse, his other hand on his ear.

No one responded. Gino shrugged regretfully: "In your next life, remember not to threaten other people's families so easily. They don't have my good temper."

Yeah, the kind of good temper that'd get your head smashed.
