Hogwarts: From Selling White Peppers to Becoming a God
Chapter 60 True Blood
Chapter 60 True Blood
"Scrimgeour is giving me trouble," Murphy said directly. "I need you to help me deal with him."
"Impossible!" Lucius refused outright.
"If there is any wizard in the world more stubborn than Barty Crouch, it must be Rufus Scrimgeour! He is a rock! Nothing can sway him! Once he sets his mind on something, he will see it through to the end."
"So, he's completely unyielding to both soft and hard tactics?"
"Don't even think about it, you're finished. He'll definitely find something on you sooner or later."
Murphy didn't seem to care about Lucius's gloating. "With that kind of tough personality, he's probably not very popular in the department, is he? He's been the head of the Auror's office for many years but hasn't been promoted yet. Is that why?"
Even though many people dislike him, there are even more people who dislike you.
"I have a lot of fans," Murphy said. "Secretary Millison is quite fond of me."
"That's just a stupid woman. She has some reputation among half-blood wizards, but she's nothing special."
"Even if they've been re-elected for several terms? Even if half-blood wizards now make up almost half of the Ministry of Magic?" Murphy scoffed. "Underestimating your opponent isn't a good habit, Lucius. Haven't you learned that lesson yet?"
"..."
Lucius choked.
"Do you have any specific methods? I can help you contact some people, but Scrimgeour is very cautious. If we can't find any dirt on him, we can't bring him down."
"Do you know Kingsley? How much do you know about him?"
"Kingsley, of the Shackles?" Lucius pondered for a moment. "That's no ordinary character. What are you planning to do?"
"It's nothing. One of his henchmen was following me and I injured him. He's itching to catch me now. Go find someone to give him some advice; he'll definitely listen."
"What idea?"
"Alex Wood. Tell him that if he wants to capture me, he'll have to capture Alex Wood first."
……
After leaving the Malfoys, Murphy arrived at the Sirens' Song and found Lisandro.
"You want my blood?" The latter looked puzzled after hearing Murphy's request. "You want to become a vampire? You have good aptitude; the ancestor might be willing to let you join."
"You've got it wrong. I just want some of your blood. Or, you can have werewolf flesh, but it has to be fresh."
"What are you going to do with it?" Lisandro was puzzled; the request was too strange.
"Just tell me if you're selling or not."
"I may like money, but not to the point of selling my blood," Lisandro immediately refused. "What if you want to use it to curse me?"
"The blood of the blood slaves you converted is also acceptable."
"You'd better tell me clearly what you want to do."
Murphy thought for a moment and decided to be more honest. "Actually, I'm very interested in the ability of vampires and werewolves to transform others into their own kind, and I want to study the principles behind it. This might be able to be used to treat werewolf syndrome or improve your situation."
Lisandro became wary. "You mean, including turning me back into a human?"
"I mean, improve your sleep. If you don't get sunlight, your body will lack vitamins, and staying up all night can easily lead to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases..." Murphy started rambling.
Lisandro listened to him finish his embellishment without expression, then said, "Take care, don't bother seeing me out."
"Hey, think about it again. I'll give you 100 Galleons for a vial of blood, how about it?"
"Go away, go away! Our vampire blood isn't some kind of potion ingredient, we're not selling it!"
"Two hundred Galleons!"
"If you don't leave, I'll kick you out!"
As the two were pushing and shoving each other, a voice suddenly spoke up, "Give it to him."
Both of them looked at the bartender in astonishment.
The latter continued wiping the wine glasses.
Lisandro looked at the bartender uncertainly. "You're going to give it to him? What if he's hostile to us..."
The bartender gently placed the glass back on the tray. "I told him it was for him."
Lisandro looked furious but dared not speak out, and was indignantly preparing to bite open his own vein and give Murphy a little of his blood.
But the bartender spoke up again: "Give him real blood."
"What?!" Lisandro was shocked.
The so-called "true blood" of vampires is the source of their power and the key to turning others into vampires. This substance is present in very small quantities in each vampire and is extremely difficult to replenish.
The bartender didn't say anything more.
Lisandro sighed, snatched a test tube from Murphy's hand, turned his head, placed his fangs in the test tube, and a trickle of clear blood flowed from between his teeth, flowing down the tube wall into the test tube.
After a while, Lisandro handed Murphy a test tube containing about two milliliters of real blood. "Take it and get out of here."
Murphy put the test tube away, but then handed her another one. "There's not enough. Could you give me some more?"
"you!"
"Do you know that this alone is enough to convert several people!"
"I know, I know, more, more!"
Lisandro looked pleadingly at the bartender.
However, the latter continued to silently wipe the cup.
"OK!"
Frustrated, Lisandro repeated the process, giving Murphy another two milliliters of true blood, which made him even paler.
Seeing his murderous expression, Murphy silently put the third test tube away.
Forget it, let's not bully them too much.
"Thank you for your help," Murphy patted Lisandro on the shoulder and nodded to the bartender. "I'll remember this favor."
After Murphy left, Lisandro looked at the bartender, "Master, why?"
The bartender finally put down his glass, looked at him for a moment, and said, "Not everyone thinks immortality is a good thing."
"Especially for those of us who are only half-baked at immortality."
……
East London.
slums.
This area was once an industrial district near the port. It has always been a backward part of London, with narrow streets, dense population, and dilapidated old buildings everywhere. Time seems to have forgotten this place.
Such a fertile ground is conducive to crime.
As a place where low-income people and immigrants reside, this area has long been associated with poverty, violent crime, and drugs.
Some people say that in the East District, everyone is either committing crimes or skirting the edge of criminality; otherwise, you're considered an outcast.
It was already evening. Murphy cast a Muggle Exorcism Charm on himself and flew through the air, his gaze sweeping over the various blocks.
He came here to find a scapegoat.
He needed a vicious and ruthless individual, someone whose death would be no loss, to serve as a substitute in his plan.
He quickly found some clues.
In a dirty alley, several young people dressed as hippies are beating a man curled up on the ground.
Murphy descended from the sky and simultaneously lifted the Muggle banishment curse.
The billowing black smoke and its bizarre appearance immediately terrified the group of thugs.
He grabbed someone at random and said, "Tell me, who is the worst villain in this area?"
