A certain broken Hogwarts

Chapter 87 Solution

Chapter 87 Solution

As a level 5X magical creature, the Chimera is ferocious and extremely powerful, often requiring the combined efforts of dozens of adult wizards to successfully subdue it.

Even though this one is still a minor, it is not something that one person can handle.

Snape frowned and stood in front of the young wizards, waving his wand at the charging behemoth. At his command, all the curtains along the corridor transformed into shimmering silver ropes, binding the chimera's four massive goat hooves like arms, hindering its advance.

The Chimera roared to the sky with its ferocious lion head raised, its mane standing on end with the movement, making it look even more majestic. The ferocious roar echoed through the corridor, making people's ears ring.

The ropes binding its body further enraged it. Ignoring the widening wounds on its four hooves bound by shackles, it struggled violently, tearing at the ropes and stomping its hooves heavily on the ground, seemingly making the entire castle tremble.

The ropes ripped under the strain, managing to slow it down for only a brief moment before being torn apart. But as Snape brandished his wand with a grim expression, more ropes wrapped around it, desperately trying to hinder the Chimera's progress.

The enraged beast roared, its jaws wide open, and then, with a cunning glint, it unleashed a torrent of scorching flames at Snape. This time, the flames carried an even more ferocious impact, arriving in an instant like a cannonball, the intense heat melting the surrounding portraits.

Snape hastily waved his wand, and a phantom shield, tinged with iron gray, appeared before him, blocking the oncoming flames. Under the relentless onslaught of the flames, fine cracks appeared on the hastily summoned shield, and it shattered completely after only a short while.

"Protect Your Body!" Several Ironclad Charms appeared just in time to shield Snape, and after a series of cracking sounds, they barely managed to block some of the impact.

The Slytherin students dashed toward the common room, with Owen and a few upperclassmen at the back, reciting a few Ironclad Charms for the Headmaster.

Snape staggered back two steps from the impact, nodded slightly to Owen and the others, and continued chanting incantations to hold off the Chimera while fighting and retreating.

But his obstruction enraged the Chimera Beast. It bared its fangs at the obstructing little man, and flames suddenly erupted from its mane. The behemoth was now serious, unleashing its full power and instantly breaking free from its binding ropes. It lowered its massive body slightly, its tail taut, and charged forward like an arrow released from a bow, its speed unbelievable.

Snape calmly pointed his wand at the ground beneath his feet, transforming the flat floor into a smooth ramp. As the chimera pawed frantically at the carpet, the long carpet slid down the ramp, leaving the giant beast running in the same spot for what seemed like an eternity. Snape seized the opportunity to fire several spells at the chimera's head, but most of them bounced off.

"Oh my, Professor Snape's got some skills." Owen turned his head and saw this scene, and for some reason felt that the Chimera had become cute and silly, reminding him of a certain blue cat named Tom.

It must be said that as a magic master who had achieved outstanding success in the fields of potions and spells, Snape, although unable to subdue this Chimera, still had a way to stop it for a period of time.

Just then, a melodious and pleasant song drifted from afar, ethereal and mysterious, yet it invigorated the hearts of the students. The song dispelled their fear and anxiety, gradually giving rise to hope and courage.

Snape's solemn expression relaxed slightly. A flame ignited beside him, and Dumbledore and his phoenix emerged from the flames. The headmaster's blue eyes flashed with sharp and angry light, but after looking around and finding that the young wizards had only suffered minor injuries, his expression softened again.

"Dumbledore is here." Owen stopped and watched from a distance, a smile on his face, hiding behind a pillar. Not only him, but many of the bolder young wizards also slowed their pace, perhaps due to the phoenix's song.

Irving spotted the golden-red phoenix in the distance. It was as large as a crane, with a long, golden tail like a peacock, and equally shimmering golden beak and claws. It looked absolutely beautiful. The phoenix circled and sang in the air, its stirring song sending shivers down one's spine.

Owen touched his chest; his heart was pounding, and a lingering coolness washed away his excitement. He glanced at the others beside him; Harry looked eager, as if he wanted to rush over with his wand to help, and the others also looked excited.

"Tsk, if this effect were a little stronger, would it turn into Berserk?" Owen was still lost in thought.

Dumbledore's arrival instantly improved the situation. The Chimera became much more cautious in response to the phoenix's song, its blood-red, ferocious eyes fixed on the phoenix in the sky, emitting low growls.

"Oh dear, Severus, forgive me for being a little late. My old bones were just dealing with a mischievous five-legged creature," Dumbledore said with a laugh. "Wow, a chimera! What an eye-opening day! I think Hagrid will be very pleased."

As he spoke, he slowly waved his wand at the Chimera, and soft, gentle sounds mingled with the phoenix's song, gradually calming the ferocious beast before him. Snape also took out a potion bottle and used his wand to draw out wisps of white mist, which entered the Chimera's nostrils, causing it to yawn.

There was no earth-shattering battle; the two professors worked together, chanting hypnotic and soothing spells, and the phoenix's song gradually became light and ethereal. Finally, Dumbledore unexpectedly unleashed a spell, and an inconspicuous white light struck the chimera's eye, causing its body to sway for a moment before it slowly lay down and closed its eyes.

"Let it stay here for now, Hagrid will handle it later," Dumbledore said softly. "Luckily, this big guy is still a child, and he looks very weak and tired, otherwise it would be difficult to deal with..."

The two exchanged a few words in hushed tones, and Snape glanced at the students from afar before hurrying away. Dumbledore, on the other hand, came over with a smile to comfort the young wizards who had just experienced a thrilling adventure, and didn't forget to wink mischievously at Harry: "At Hogwarts, shouting for help when in danger is definitely the wise choice."

Harry's face flushed bright red, and he was practically steaming. Dumbledore heard it all, he heard it all… He just wanted to disappear into the ground.

"I imagine Madam Pomfrey is in for a busy night," Dumbledore said, glancing at the group floating in the air, then at the jar swaying in Owen's arms. "As for this little fellow, he'd better be handed over to Hagrid as well."

Owen nodded, watching as Dumbledore seized the phoenix's claws and vanished in a flash of fire.

The young wizards made it back to the common room safely. The survivors gathered in the common room and talked loudly about what had happened that night. The noise was so loud it almost lifted the ceiling.

Some were still shaken, some were filled with lingering fear, some were excited, and some were anxious. Some were excitedly boasting about their brilliant maneuvers, hindsightly recounting how they should have stopped the terrifying monster, while others speculated about who had released them, with all sorts of conspiracy theories emerging.

Draco exclaimed loudly, his face full of dissatisfaction, "To encounter something like this in my first year at Hogwarts! If I had known this would happen, I should have had my father send me to Durmstrang..."

After saying that, he gave Harry a resentful yet arrogant look: "I didn't know that someone would dare to cast the Silent Spell on me at Hogwarts, but since you helped me swat away that annoying little blue bug, I won't pursue the matter..." Crabbe was still floating in mid-air.

"Sorry..." Harry said with a grin. He'd wanted to cast that spell on Draco for ages!

Owen placed the jar containing the bird-snake on the table, attracting a large crowd of young wizards. The bolder ones cautiously fed the insects into the jar, excitedly whispering among themselves.

Owen gently smoothed the fur of the terrified Melett, absentmindedly answering the young wizards' questions. Tonight's events made him acutely aware of the long road he still had to travel on the path of magic, and he also gained a direct understanding of his weaknesses. He could now focus on intensive study to improve his knowledge.

"Voldemort and Quirrell have really caused a huge mess. I wonder if any students will be injured or killed," he thought, his mind wandering. "Speaking of which, will they be expelled from Hogwarts after tonight? If so, my plans will be ruined..."

The noise in the common room lasted for a long time until night fell, when the exhausted young wizards finally went back to rest.

The lake outside the window remained tranquil, like the unchanging night, shimmering with a mysterious glow that lulled one into a deep sleep.
