Chapter 98 A Distant Letter (Second Update, Requesting Recommendation Votes)

The exam results were finally released on the night before I left school.

William ranked first in the entire grade with perfect scores in all subjects.

This is another terrible record; no one has ever been able to get a perfect score from Professor Snape.

William knew the reason: the French lily net he added to the water of life and death was exactly what was recorded in Snape's notes.

Snape probably thought William had stumbled upon the same inspiration as him by accident, and in the end, he reluctantly (and arrogantly) gave him a perfect score.

Qiu's grades were quite good; her only weakness was her Transfiguration ability, but with Cedric's help in tutoring, she was able to handle the exams.

Cedric was undoubtedly number one in his second year, a feat far surpassed by his twin brothers.

The twin brothers were also punished by Professor McGonagall by having to copy the school rules for half the night.

Although the dung ball was thrown by Pipi Ghost, when Blood Man Barrow chased after him, he quickly pulled out the twin brothers.

Suddenly, their wardrobes were empty; everything had been packed into suitcases. A notice was sent to every student, warning them against using magic during the holiday.

Hagrid led them onto the small boat that crossed the lake. Afterward, they boarded the Hogwarts Express, chatting and laughing all the way, watching the countryside outside the window become increasingly lush and tidy.

The train passed through Muggle towns, and the students took off their wizard robes and put on jackets and blouses; finally, the train stopped at platform 9 of King's Cross Station.

It took a long time for everyone to get off the platform. A withered old guard stood at the ticket gate, allowing only two or three people to pass at a time, so that they wouldn't all come out of the solid wall at the same time and attract the attention of the Muggles.

"If I get the Order of Merlin this summer," William said as he walked, "I'll send an owl to let you know I'm going to a party."

Cedric exclaimed excitedly, "I definitely have to go! My dad told me that they serve special golden chocolates at the banquet, and they taste amazing!"

"We can pack a lot and take them back to school to sell!" George suggested.

He gets particularly excited when money is mentioned.

"By the way, have you decided on a name for our shop?" Qiu asked.

"I've got it," William grinned. "Let's call it—Akali's Mystery Shop."

"Akali...who is that?" Cedric asked, completely bewildered.

"A famous witch from the Ionia Islands on the continent of Valoran."

"How come I've never heard of it?"

"That's to be expected, I just made that up," William chuckled. "I heard you accepted a mission from Hagrid to look after some magical creatures for him during the summer?"

Several people turned their gazes toward Cedric.

Hagrid recruits students every summer to help him, but no one has ever been willing to work with him to raise those strange and terrifying creatures.

Cedric was surprised that he agreed.

Cedric shrugged. "I'll only stay for a month, then I'll go help out with Mr. Ollivander."

"Then what for?"

"Hagrid has a lot of unicorn hair, as well as a lot of magical creature hair. After I helped him, Hagrid agreed to give me the materials to make a wand."

"Oh, that's great! Can I have a second wand now?" George asked.

"The initial burst of power is not expected to be too great, so be prepared," Cedric laughed.

"Then good luck making a new wand for my brother Ron," Fred said earnestly.

"Why?" Qiu asked, puzzled.

Charlie decided to go to Romania to study dragons, and he even took a month's salary in advance to buy himself a new wand.

"That old wand will surely be used by my lovely little brother Ron," George laughed.

"But I remember Charlie's wand already had unicorn fur showing," Cedric frowned.

These wands are all unsafe.

"Well, there's nothing we can do about it, so I don't think he can hold out for long." Fred patted Cedric on the shoulder. "Ron doesn't need a powerful wand for now; he'll be perfectly content with a new one."

"Okay," Cedric nodded. "I'll give it a try."

"They're over there, Mom! George and Fred are over there! Look!" a clear voice suddenly called out.

"Oh no, it's Ginny." Fred's expression changed.

Sure enough, they soon saw Mrs. Weasley's angry face.

"You actually threw dung at the Slytherin table!" Mrs. Weasley grabbed George and Fred by the ears. "You should be glad it's the last day, or I would have sent a howling letter!"

The twin brothers, Ron and Ginny, were curiously observing their group, especially William, who was now very famous in Britain and was about to become a national celebrity.

However, William's amusement at the twins' misfortune soon vanished when he saw Lyanna.

Lyanna was just as angry as Mrs. Weasley, after all, William had done something far more dangerous.

Anne hid behind Roy making faces, while Bobocha darted out of William's arms and ran towards the girl.

"Is this our sister Anne?" George straightened his hair and tried to strike up a conversation, but Mrs. Weasley grabbed him again.

"Did you drive here?" Mr. Weasley leaned closer, ready to ask Roy some questions about the car.

William stood by and listened for a while. It seemed that Mr. Weasley had a light green Ford Anglia that he wanted to modify a little over the summer.

"See you during the summer vacation then." They said goodbye to each other.

Just then, a toad suddenly hopped over from a distance and landed unexpectedly in William's hand.

"Whose pet is this?" Cedric asked.

"It doesn't look like a pet," William said, puzzled.

Because a golden letter was spat out of the toad's mouth.

"Oh, that's how mail was delivered a hundred years ago. Back then, people didn't use owls; toads were more common." Mr. Weasley scratched his half-bald red hair.

William raised an eyebrow. Someone actually used this method to send a message?

He looked at the envelope and saw a red dotted symbol printed on it, with the white NF mark next to it.

"Where did the letter come from?" Cedric asked.

"Let me see, Devonshire..."

William was stunned; he knew who had sent the letter.

It looks like he'll have new activities planned for the summer vacation.
