A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 787: You two still say you didn't have an affair?
William held the heavy little gold pendant box and examined it closely.
It's quite heavy, has a premium feel, and a unique design, especially the box, which is adorned with a dazzling, serpentine "S".
A quick glance is enough to tell that this is a genuine Slytherin locket, not one of those cheap knockoffs.
However, the two small golden doors on the locket could not be forced open.
Just as William was figuring out how to open it, Kreacher began to tell the story of Regulus.
Overall, this is a tragic story of a prodigal son who returns to the light, abandons darkness for light, loses his faith, and heads towards death.
The first half of Regulus is similar to Barty Crouch Jr.
Pure-blooded family, outstanding academic performance.
In that era, under the influence of that particular ideology, people fanatically worshipped the Dark Lord, wanted to become his henchmen, and swore to die for him.
From this perspective, the Black family seems to have a knack for infighting.
The Black sisters: Bella, Andromeda, and Narcissa... a typical example of fake friendships.
To what extent is it made of plastic?
Tonks' mother, Andromeda... was expelled from the family because she married a Muggle-born wizard.
Bella wished she could kill her second sister.
The younger sister, Narcissa, looks well-behaved, but all she wants is to steal her older sister Bella's money and put it in her own family vault.
William had heard Sirius mention it... a few years ago, Narcissa went to Azkaban every year.
It's ostensibly a prison visit, but it's actually a scam to swindle money!
They were using the pretext of helping someone get out of prison to try and get something for nothing.
To sum it up in one sentence:
I don't want to listen to any of those bullshit family stories, I just want to make money!
The Black brothers also shared an ironclad bond.
During his school years, after Sirius entered Gryffindor, he began to be at odds with Regulus, Slytherin's younger brother.
After graduation, the two sides went to opposing camps:
After Sirius joined the Order of the Phoenix, Regulus became a proud Death Eater.
Until one day, Voldemort used Kreacher to go to the cave, let him drink the poison, and then put the Horcrux inside.
Even the Dark Lord didn't know that this seemingly small action would lead to the worst possible outcome:
Regulus guessed the Horcrux.
For some reason known only to Regulus himself, he betrayed the Dark Lord, switched the Horcruxes, and ordered Kreacher to destroy them.
He himself perished in that green lake, killed by the corpses.
This is the story of Regulus... a hidden Death Eater traitor and the first wizard to attempt to destroy Horcruxes.
Their deaths may have been silent, but they were incredibly tragic.
After hearing Kreacher's description, William remained silent.
Anne and Hermione kept wiping away their tears.
"Regrus can survive!" Hermione said sadly, wiping her eyes. "Even if he drinks the poison, he won't die."
He should have Kreacher take him away from that island…”
William shook his head and said:
"Hermione, Regulus doesn't want to live anymore; he's determined to die!"
"But...why?" Hermione asked, puzzled.
"Regrus worshipped Voldemort; he probably genuinely believed the Dark Lord could change the world," William said softly.
"However, after joining the Death Eaters, he witnessed Voldemort's actions."
It was nothing but killing.
He then discovered that Voldemort had created even more evil things, and his faith was completely shattered.
"Regulus stole the locket; he tolled Voldemort's death knell."
But this death knell tolls also for himself.
His faith had crumbled, and he simply didn't want to live any longer!
William patted Hermione's head reassuringly.
Was Regulus a coward?
On the contrary, he was brave and had great faith.
But once their faith is shattered, they simply cannot accept it.
William held up the locket and said softly:
"What we must do is to live up to Regulus's expectations and completely destroy the soul within."
"But I tried many times, and after failing, I punished myself by trying again."
Kreacher struggled to sit up, rubbing his reddened eyes with his fist.
"The locket is enchanted with powerful magic; I cannot carry out the command to destroy it!"
"Believe me, I've seen more than one of these... I'm a professional," William said with a smile.
"Go and release the little grey robe." He handed the safety chart to Hermione.
The Dementor that has been nurtured the longest is undoubtedly the Little Black Robe.
But William had sent the little black robe back to Azkaban to work as a spy, and he was no longer by William's side.
However, he has other Dementors at his disposal.
For example, the little gray robe is bred from the little black robe.
Dementors can reproduce.
This reproduction is similar to bacterial reproduction... In theory, if a Dementor is given enough positive emotions, it can reproduce indefinitely.
The Grey Robe was one of them, and he was also William's chosen successor as the second-generation Dementor, to replace the Black Robe at any time.
William held the locket, gazing at the two small golden doors that could not be opened.
This is a Slytherin item, and since there's no key, it can probably only be opened with Parsley.
William took out the magic translator.
These are alchemical items he created by following Nico's alchemy book; they can translate multiple languages.
Last year, he rented the translation machine to Durmstrang students so they could attend classes at Hogwarts.
William was originally used to translate Snake dialect, and this came in handy.
Soon, Hermione emerged, with a large glass box floating beside her.
The little gray-robed figure floated pitifully inside.
Preparations were complete. William put on the translator and spoke, followed by a hissing sound:
"I am the one who serves the Supreme One, and I have come as the vanguard to announce your death."
Open yourself up and reveal all your secrets to me, inside and out!
The words might have been a bit childish, but since they were all hissing sounds, William didn't feel so ashamed.
With a click, the small gold lid of the locket popped open quickly.
Behind each of the two small glass windows, a living eye blinked, dark and bright, just like before Tom's eyes turned red and his pupils became slits.
"Swallow it!" William commanded.
The little gray-robed creature moved closer, lifted its hood, and revealed a gray face.
At that moment, a hissing sound came from the Horcrux.
"I see your heart, and it is mine."
The little gray-robed creature lacked the strong will of the little black-robed creature; it hesitated and did not devour the soul.
"You're afraid, and I know what you're afraid of!" Voldemort said.
Bubbles-like shapes emerged from the two small windows of the locket; it was William's figure, killing a Dementor.
"He will kill you... wipe out your race," Voldemort shouted.
The little man in the gray robe stared at that face as if he were hypnotized.
William raised his wand, summoning a ball of golden flame from Fox.
If the Dementor fails to give Voldemort a kiss, he will simply destroy him.
After hesitating for a long time, the little gray-robed man finally made up his mind and kissed those eyes.
The locket screamed, Riddle's eyes were gone, and wisps of smoke rose from the locket's colorful silk lining.
"What memories did you see...?" William asked urgently.
The soul within each Horcrux possesses memories of its time before leaving the host.
As Dementors devour souls, they can glimpse the memories of those fragmented souls in a fleeting manner.
When the little black robes devoured the soul within the Ravenclaw crown, it saw the diary and the Slytherin ring.
The reason is simple: the Ravenclaw tiara was created only after the diary and the ring.
William didn't know which Horcrux the locket was, so he could only gamble on his luck.
Fortunately, he has always been lucky; he is an atypical lucky person.
The little grey-robed man hesitated for a long time before whispering, "The diary... Slytherin's ring... Hufflepuff's golden cup..."
"Where is the Golden Cup?!"
Another long silence followed.
"Bellatrix Lestrange..."
William took a breath, looked up and murmured, "He actually gave it to her?"
"You two still say you didn't have an affair?!"

ps
The order of Voldemort's Horcruxes is: Diary, Slytherin Ring.
After graduation, go to Albania to find the Ravenclaw tiara, kill an Albanian, and create the third Horcrux.
After returning to England, Tom went to work at Borgin-Bock and stole the gold cup and locket from Hepzba Smith.
Killing Smith created the Golden Cup, the fourth Horcrux. Slytherin's locket is the fifth.
Therefore, the spirit inside the locket should theoretically know about the Golden Cup and Bella.
