A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 721 No Limits to Pretending

Chapter 721 No Limits to Pretending

William got out of bed very early in the morning.

He was woken up by POPSA licking him at the same time every day for eight years... it had become his biological clock.

Anyway, he's been waking up at the same time every day lately, and he hasn't adjusted to the time difference yet.

He looked up... good heavens, his roommate was already up.

This is neither scientific nor magical.

You know, after five years of school life, they've all become seasoned veterans.

Normally, I'd skip the first class depending on the situation. But when it was Professor McGonagall's class, I'd always get up fifteen minutes before class started, walk into the classroom on time, and remain calm.

It can even solve the breakfast problem.

Brad sat on the edge of the bed, his eyes red, and said, "I was so nervous, I barely slept last night."

"Me too, I'm afraid of oversleeping, I wake up several times a night," Chambers said painfully.

"I dreamt that Professor Flitwick came to the exam hall with Aurors. He said I had cheated and that he would send me to Azkaban."

"..."

"I wanted to get up early and review a bit more. After all, last-minute cramming can make a difference." Marcos tugged at his hair.

He suddenly screamed.

"Oh no... I'm losing my hair! Am I going bald?! I just turned sixteen!"

Sometimes, a person's breakdown can happen in an instant.

William tossed over a few bottles of energizing potions, saying, "Drink some of these, they'll make you feel much better, at least you won't be sleepy during the exam."

The five of them went out and came to the auditorium... The auditorium was already filled with fifth and seventh grade students.

The seventh-grade students are fine; they've already gone through the OWL exam and are seasoned veterans.

The fifth-grade students, however, were incredibly nervous, and almost no one said a word.

Qiu was practicing her incantation in a low voice when the salt shaker on the dining table twitched in front of her.

Marietta was reviewing "Intermediate Potions" so quickly that her eyes were starting to glaze over.

Hibiscus was also there, holding a notebook of William's ancient magic script.

Seeing that William was coming, they handed it over to him and asked him to help ask questions about possible test points.

Students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang also take exams at Hogwarts.

At this moment, they were also anxiously waiting.

"Is that the examiner?" Furong suddenly asked.

William looked toward the entrance of the Great Hall and saw Professor McGonagall walking out, standing with a small group of wizards who looked very old.

William knew many wizards. Many wizards were present at the Merlin Medal award ceremony that year.

Dumbledore helped him expand his network.

Many of these wizards were even older than Dumbledore.

For example, Professor March Benedict was one of the examiners during Dumbledore's exams.

Time flies, almost a century has passed, ministers have come and gone, but she remains the chief examiner.

Professor Marchban was clearly looking for Dumbledore, but the headmaster was not at the school at the moment.

He's been traveling around.

Professor Marchban knew this too, and after asking a few casual questions, he was taken to rest by Professor McGonagall.

After breakfast, students from other grades went to class.

The seventh and fifth graders wandered aimlessly around the foyer, like Nick who was almost headless.

Then, at 9:30, they were called back to the auditorium.

The auditorium has been rearranged.

Four college tables were moved away and replaced with many small single tables, all facing the faculty tables at the far end of the auditorium, where Professor McGonagall stood alone.

The written exam was in the morning, and the practical classes were in the afternoon. The first class was on spells.

Once they were seated and quiet, Professor McGonagall glanced at the time and began to show the exam paper bag.

"Everyone, please take a good look. Everything is strictly sealed... After the test roll is done, check both sides to see if there are any missing pages."

You need to fill in your name and student ID number, then you can start answering the questions.

The exam papers floated to each table, and Professor McGonagall placed a huge hourglass upside down next to it.

On the table were spare quills, ink bottles, and rolls of parchment.

Brad glanced at William, who gave him an encouraging look.

He taught his roommates a lot of tips for showing off during exams this morning, and now is the perfect time to do so!

Instead of rushing to fill in his name, Brad slowly scanned the paper, then, with all his might, softly but firmly said:

"Oh dear, I've done them all before. So many of them are the same questions I've seen before."

"..."

Many students heard this and glared at Brad with hatred.

Brad felt a surge of satisfaction and was instantly energized.

William nodded.

Very good. I believe that by now, many students' psychological defenses have already begun to crumble.

William also opened his exam paper and began writing down his answers.

He looked down at the first question:

It seems Dumbledore has been reporting Hogwarts' teaching progress to the Ministry of Magic quite frequently.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have come up with this kind of question.

The first question reads:

What is the incantation for one of the Unforgivable Curses—the Killing Curse?

a) Avada munching on a melon;

b) Avada's survival;

c) Avada Kedavra;

d) The continent of Avalon;

e) The Kingdom of Wakanda.

William glanced at it only once before starting to answer the questions quickly, answering almost every question without hesitation.

Shabby, who was behind him, wanted to peek at the answer to the first question, but William had already finished that page and started turning the page.

Shabi stared in disbelief, frozen in her seat.

William was turning the page with his roommate Marcos, who had only done the last multiple-choice question on this page, which was why he was able to do it so quickly.

Marcos thought about William's instructions:

The sound of turning the page must be loud and crisp.

The force with which you turn the page conveys your disdain for the OWL exam and your confidence in the exam's simplicity.

Turn the page as early as possible; ideally, turn it after you've finished the multiple-choice questions. Turn the page loudly enough to make those test-takers question their existence.

Indeed... many students started to have a mental breakdown and wanted nothing more than to beat up Marcos.

William began his final performance.

Only half an hour later, he stood up and walked toward Professor McGonagall.

"William, do you need to use the restroom?" McGonagall glanced at the hourglass.

"No, I have to hand in my paper... I have an appointment later, so I'll be going now, Professor McGonagall."

William gently placed the test paper on the table and turned to walk outside.

The auditorium immediately erupted in chaos.

"Quiet!"

Professor McGonagall paused for two seconds, then loudly reprimanded him before checking William's paper.

Okay, there's nothing to check. You can treat these as standard answers.

Everyone was discussing this during lunch.

William handed in his paper in half an hour during the two-hour exam, which caused psychological and physical discomfort to everyone.

Indeed, I'm not suited for school; I should go out and work.

Many young wizards think this way.

"Hmm, it's not too bad, is it?" Qiu asked anxiously, sitting at the dining table, still clutching her French bread tightly in her hands.

"I'm not sure if I answered all the copying spells correctly, and the time just ran out."

Have you written out the wind-proof spell? I think I misspelled a letter—there's still question fifteen…”

Qiu couldn't help but compare answers with William.

Anyway, his answer is definitely the standard one.

William comforted him, saying, "Don't compare answers after the exam; it will affect your next exam."

Many students check the answers after the exam and then miss subsequent exams.

I'm devastated!

Bradley and Marcos were also in a bad mood.

They put on airs, but they didn't do very well on the exam.

The most awkward thing would be if, in the end, you didn't get the "curse certificate" after all the results came out; that would be incredibly embarrassing.
