A Certain Magical Hogwarts
Chapter 68 September 2st
Chapter 68 April 20th (Third Update)
Professor McGonagall's office contained a large number of books and other items.
On the right wall sits an old flying broomstick—Comet 200.
William carefully studied the history of flying brooms and remembered that this was a broom that was launched in 1940.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it an antique.
This is clearly the broom that Professor McGonagall used when she was on the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
Even now, she still keeps this broom. Next to the broom is a poster of the Montrose Magpies.
Montrose Magpies were once the most successful team in the English-Irish League, winning the UEFA Cup 32 times and the European Championship twice.
However, the team has long since fallen from grace, but Professor McGonagall still retains her teenage years' love of idol worship.
On the wall behind Professor McGonagall was a group photo: a slightly younger McGonagall and a wizard William didn't recognize.
Just as William was observing the office, a worried Professor McGonagall finally picked up a piece of parchment, wrote down a lot of information with a quill pen, sealed the envelope, and handed it to a white owl at the window.
After giving McGonagall a affectionate peck, the owl spread its wings and flew away from Hogwarts, disappearing into the sky.
Professor McGonagall rubbed her head, seemingly suffering from a headache. She sat in her chair for a moment to recover before finally saying, "William, I've already written to Professor Dumbledore. Even if he receives it, he has to attend tonight's trial and probably won't be back until tomorrow morning."
William immediately stopped looking around and nodded honestly.
Professor McGonagall stared at William and continued, "Child, don't tell anyone what you've learned today. It may involve the lives of three innocent people."
The three innocent people refer to Snape, Hagrid, and Robert.
William knew the gravity of the situation. He nodded and said earnestly, "Professor, I won't tell anyone. Please inform me immediately when Professor Dumbledore returns."
Professor McGonagall hesitated for a moment, glanced at the ring on William's index finger, and said, "I can't remove that ring either. I think Professor Dumbledore will have a way, so you don't need to worry too much."
William thought McGonagall was just trying to comfort him, but he still got up to leave. Just as he was about to walk out, he suddenly turned back and asked, "Professor McGonagall, may I ask why Professor Snape was taken away? Was it simply because he was suspected of committing the crime?"
Professor McGonagall hesitated, unsure whether to tell William. After a moment, she breathed a sigh of relief and said, "A dark magic wound was found on Tywin."
When the Auror used the Flashback Charm to examine the wand, he discovered that the magic emanating from Professor Snape's wand was indeed from it.
No wonder… William suddenly realized.
It seems that Professor Tywin Lannister had a conflict with Snape in addition to entering the Room of Requirement.
So here's another question: why did the two of them start fighting?
William turned and left, returning alone to the Ravenclaw lounge.
Standing by the wooden door, he discovered that the eagle-shaped bronze door knocker was indeed gone, replaced by a huge hole.
The students were unaware of what had happened; they assumed the door knocker had been stolen again. The deans also ordered the four colleges to close the doors to the common rooms and prohibit anyone from leaving. Therefore, everyone ate dinner in their respective dormitories.
Back in his dorm, William simply said he had some things to do and didn't answer anyone's questions.
Late at night, he lay in bed, sipping his bubble tea while carefully reflecting on the events of the day.
He held the Marauder's Map in his hand, which still did not include the names of Dumbledore and Snape.
Similarly, neither Robert nor Professor Tywin's names were mentioned.
As night deepened, William slowly fell asleep, and the ring on his index finger unexpectedly emitted a sapphire blue light.
In the darkness, they resemble stars.
Several people and a cat were all fast asleep, unaware that a dormitory in Ravenclaw was brightly lit.
Deep underground, in the Hogwarts underground palace, the lake rippled, and the golden compass on the shore slowly turned a full circle.
After an unknown amount of time, everything returned to calm, as if nothing had ever happened.
William woke up on time early in the morning.
He sat up, looked around, and saw that Bobo Tea had disappeared again. The ring on his finger reminded him that yesterday's events were not a farce.
William rubbed his face, stood up, quickly washed up, rolled up the Marauder's Map, put it in his pocket, and prepared to go find Cedric.
When he left the dormitory and entered the common lounge, the scene before him left him dumbfounded.
Many young wizards were gathered together enthusiastically, discussing the Quidditch final, as if the game would be replayed today.
William frowned and found Qiu in the crowd.
The girl was sitting on the sofa, fiddling with a hat that had a Hufflepuff badger on it.
She picked up her wand and tried to use Transfiguration to make the little badger move, but unsurprisingly... she failed.
William sat down beside her and asked in a low voice, "Qiu, what happened? Didn't Professor Flitwick announce the cancellation of the finals?"
Autumn was suddenly startled, and with a flick of her wand, the hat flew out and hit Marietta on the head.
"The finals have been cancelled? Who told you that? Professor Flitwick didn't notify us."
Marietta put the hat on her head and laughed loudly, "William, are you still half asleep? Today is the final, how can it be canceled?"
Look, you can even see the layout of the Quidditch pitch from here!
Following Marietta's gaze, William saw the Quidditch arena in the distance through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows of the Ravenclaw Tower.
Hagrid is carrying a microphone, preparing to place it on the stage, while Mrs. Hodge is checking the venue's safety facilities.
Professor McGonagall stood in front of the Gryffindor audience, wand in hand, designing a roaring lion.
Something must be wrong!
William stood there, stunned. After a long pause, he belatedly asked, "What's the date today?"
"April 20th," Qiu said.
No, yesterday was April 20th, and today should be the 21st!
William hurriedly pulled out the Marauder's Map, and after giving the secret order, a large number of names appeared on it.
His heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to explode out of his chest.
On the map, he saw Robert's name at the entrance to the common room; he saw Professor Tywin in his office; he saw Dumbledore; he saw Snape...
William was completely bewildered.
