Chapter 656 The Secret of the Golden Egg

Chapter 656 The Secret of the Golden Egg

It snowed heavily overnight in the village of Autri-Saint-Cachipol.

In the early morning, a soft slap came from the bed. The young, charming witch raised her hand and slapped her smooth forehead, sitting up sleepily.

She looked around, trying to figure out where she was... then, looking at the surrounding furnishings, she remembered that she was in William's room.

But the boy seemed to have gotten up long ago and was no longer in the room.

Well, after glancing at the clock on the wall, Hermione realized it was almost 11 a.m.

She slept for so long!

On the bedside table, there was a cup of warm magic potion.

Hermione knew it was a hangover cure just by smelling it.

When she returned to the small house last night, she clung to William again and drank quite a bit of alcohol. After taking a nap, she is naturally in some pain now.

She picked up the cup, expecting it to be bitter, but to her surprise, William had thoughtfully added honey, and the taste was unexpectedly good.

After a few minutes, the headache finally subsided... Hermione's drowsiness also dissipated considerably.

Although it was already winter, the temperature inside was quite comfortable. Refined metal items, such as heaters, were placed in the corners to maintain the warmth.

The girl, wrapped in a pure white French velvet blanket, got up, got out of bed barefoot, walked to the window, and pulled open the thick curtains and the window.

Sunlight streamed in through the glass.

Hermione squinted at the thick snow in the yard, feeling inexplicably happy.

As soon as the window was opened, a cold draft rushed into the room.

Hermione admired the snow scene for a while, but couldn't stand the winter chill, so she quickly closed the window while shivering.

She skipped and hopped back to her warm bed, resting her head on the teddy bear pillow that Annie had given her.

It's still most comfortable in bed.

She absolutely didn't want to get out of bed!

Hermione continued to sleep soundly, deliberately waiting for William to come and urge her.

Perhaps realizing that such a颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of listlessness, decadence, and apathy) state was not good, he muttered to himself under the covers for a long time before finally peeking out his head and looking towards the door.

But William still didn't come.

With her ears tilted to the side, but hearing no sound from downstairs, Hermione suddenly felt a little empty inside.

She was no longer sleepy and got up to get dressed absentmindedly.

The dress she took off last night had disappeared from the rack, while her clean clothes had been placed on the rack by William beforehand.

After changing her clothes and washing up in the bathroom, the girl wasn't in the mood to fix her messy hair anymore, so she just opened the door.

She walked up the stairs to the living room on the first floor.

The living room was empty and felt cold and deserted, but breakfast was still warm in the kitchen.

Hermione, whose life was no longer insignificant, was somewhat dazed and a thought occurred to her:

William wouldn't have abandoned her and gone back to school alone, would he?

……

……

William appeared in phantom form at the doorway, crossed the wooden bridge, stepped through the snow, and entered the yard.

He was somewhat lost in thought when he saw Hermione leaning against the wooden door, waiting for his return.

"What are you doing here? It's so cold outside."

"Where did you go without saying a word!" Hermione said, sounding a little aggrieved.

"I bought some groceries. We haven't been home for so long, there's not much food left, not enough for Christmas."

William walked to the door, took Hermione's hand, and breathed warm air on it.

"You didn't even tell me. I thought you had abandoned me and gone back to school alone."

William tapped her forehead and asked curiously, "Why would I go back to school? Besides, I was thinking of asking you to come with me when I woke up this morning."

You just grunted in response and turned your back to continue sleeping.

"Oh, is that so?" Hermione was taken aback.

She has absolutely no memory of it!

"Yes, that's it." William pulled Hermione into the house.

"Your body doesn't hurt anymore?"

"It hurts, my whole body aches, especially my legs, they feel like they're filled with lead."

Hermione sat down on the sofa and then rolled over.

"It's normal for it to hurt. You danced for so long last night, and when you came back, you dragged me to keep dancing."

"After that, we were up for most of the night. How could it not hurt?" William said speechlessly.

Hermione's pretty face turned bright red.

"After lunch, go soak in some muscle-relaxing medicine, and you'll be almost fine," William said.

They had used this potion many times. After each combat training session, their whole body would ache, but soaking in it would quickly make them feel better.

"But I haven't had breakfast yet," Hermione said, sticking out her tongue.

William rolled his eyes at her.

Breakfast was out of the question; it was already noon. William left the ingredients in the kitchen and started cooking.

Hermione initially pretended to help, but after a while, she said she was injured and needed to rest.

She made a face and ran to the door to build a snowman.

I don't know if my body hurts or not.

On the kitchen countertop, William had specially prepared an area to house the Goblet of Fire, with the pot placed on the blue flame.

He waved his wand, and the egg automatically shattered and jumped into the pot, while the eggshell fell into the Goblet of Fire along with the flames, where it was given to the two dragons to eat.

This is totally energy-saving and environmentally friendly!

After preparing the meal, Hermione also built two snowmen: William and Hermione.

It's just a slight twist, but it looks terribly ugly.

William didn't dare say it aloud, but kept praising her for the lifelike way she made the sculpture, and received a kiss from the girl in return.

After lunch, William took Hermione to the bathroom.

There was already a rosewood bathtub there, filled with rising steam. The steam was so enticing that it smelled wonderful even without perfume.

William reached out to test the water temperature and asked with a smile, "Do you need my help?"

"No!" Hermione shook her head shyly.

"Actually, I'm also a little sore. I danced for too long last night, and a lot of lactic acid has accumulated in my body, so I need to release it."

William continued, "How about we both go together..."

"rogue!!"

After pushing William out of the bathroom, Hermione closed the wooden door but didn't lock it. Instead, she leaned against the door and eavesdropped for a while.

Hearing footsteps heading downstairs, she breathed a sigh of relief, but then felt a strange sense of loss.

She walked to the bathtub, rustled as she took off her clothes, and dived into the water like a mermaid.

Hermione's entire fluffy head was submerged in the water. She held her breath, covered her burning face, and cursed herself for being shameless.

With William on her mind, she silently told herself:

I need to think about something else and shift my focus.

Correct,

Golden egg!

It hasn't been cracked yet.

Hermione stared at the bucket of water, then suddenly had a brilliant idea and stood up.

Large swaths of her skin, as white as jade, were exposed to the air, but the girl didn't seem to care. Instead, she took her safety watch.

She took out a golden egg, returned to the water, and pondered for a while.

Hermione sank the golden egg to the bottom of the water, and she herself sank down as well.

William sat in the living room, designing renovation plans for the cottage.

He gained a lot of inspiration from Voldemort's Horcrux cave, and he'll definitely have to put it into practice in his own house.

What may have belonged to Voldemort before, now belongs to him!

Just then, a scream rang out, and he heard Hermione calling him anxiously.

William thought something had happened and rushed over.

He opened the bathroom door and stared in disbelief.

Hermione stood in the barrel, her alluring upper body bare, holding the golden egg in her hand.

Seeing William staring at her, Hermione screamed, released the golden egg, covered her breasts, and quickly slid into the water.

"I didn't see anything!" William tried to cover it up, then composed himself and asked, "What happened?"

Hermione submerged in the water, leaving only her head above water.

Her face had never turned so red before. She bit her lip and said:

"The golden egg! I've unlocked the secret of the golden egg!"

"Oh, what's the secret?"

William walked casually to the bathtub, staring intently at the girl.

Hermione swallowed hard and said softly, "You can only see it underwater."

"Shall I take a look?"

Hermione said in a voice barely above a whisper, "Then stick your head underwater!"

She warned, "Don't look anywhere else!"

William held his breath and plunged his head into the barrel.

Hermione also dived down, opened the golden egg, and came out some strange sounds, singing in unison:

Look for us!

Where our voices rang out,

We cannot sing on the ground.

When you search, please think carefully:

We stole your most beloved treasure.

You only have one hour.

To find and reclaim the items we took,

After an hour, all hope was lost.

It has completely disappeared.

Never to appear again.

The music stopped, but William didn't listen at all; his eyes were elsewhere, not on the golden egg.

Just as he was about to leave, he felt a pair of hands grab him.

Hermione suddenly hugged William, like a mermaid, and dragged him into the barrel.
