A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 609: Useless at everything, number one procrastinator

Chapter 609 Useless at everything, but number one at procrastination

As dusk fell, Professor McGonagall knocked three times on the animal-shaped door knocker, and the door opened automatically. She slowly walked inside.

The room was dimly lit, and the strange silver instruments on the table sat quietly instead of humming and emitting puffs of smoke as usual.

The portraits of past principals on the wall were all snoring in their frames. Hearing a noise, I quickly half-opened my eyes, saw it was McGonagall, muttered a couple of things, and then, bored, went back to sleep.

Behind the door, a large bird with a swan-like head and golden-red feathers was dozing on its perch, its head hidden under its rear end.

"You've come, Minerva." Dumbledore sat in the high-backed chair behind his desk, looking at the documents by candlelight.

He wore a long robe with a purple background and gold trim, and looked at Professor McGonagall with gentle blue eyes.

"Professor Dumbledore, you're back?" Professor McGonagall asked, carrying a stack of documents. "Did you enjoy your weekend trip?"

"A return visit wasn't too pleasant," Dumbledore said calmly. "Would you like a glass of pine nut liqueur?"

He waved his wand, and two cups appeared before him.

"Thank you, I haven't had a pleasant time either." Professor McGonagall sat down in the chair, pursing her lips.

"Relationships among the students are becoming increasingly strained, and Slytherin has clashed with Gryffindor again."

"Even the closest couples have disagreements," Dumbledore said, taking a sip of pine nut wine.

"This situation will improve after the first project is over. They will realize that every warrior has a tough time."

"I hope so," McGonagall said, raising an eyebrow.

If she understood correctly, the principal meant... the first project would be very difficult, so difficult that the other students would no longer be jealous of the other brave students.

"Mrs. Maxim hopes that her students can join our O.W.Ls and NEWTs classes," Professor McGonagall added.

"That's how it should be. I suggested it before, but she rejected it outright because of the language barrier," Dumbledore smiled.

"I'm curious, what made her change her mind?"

"That's the second thing I wanted to say," Professor McGonagall sighed.

"William persuaded Mrs. Maxime and reached an agreement with her."

"protocol?"

William hopes to apply for a large classroom to provide intensive O.W.L. tutoring for students every night.

"Intensive tutoring?" Dumbledore asked, slightly surprised.

"Interesting, that's a good idea. I have indeed noticed... some of our students have a rather weak foundation."

"That's what some teachers teach, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the O.W.Ls exam!" Professor McGonagall said angrily.

"How dare Moody... cast the Imperishable Curse on each and every student!"

"This is my consent, Minerva." Dumbledore crossed his arms.

"That person is getting stronger, and I think... it would be good for the students to broaden their horizons."

Professor McGonagall's face turned deathly pale.

"Don't worry about their exams, William has opened a cram school, hasn't he?"

The principal nodded and smiled, "A very good idea, but... who will he hire for tutoring?"

"The seventh-grade students at Beauxbatons."

"Oh, clever..." Dumbledore exclaimed. "Minerva, don't you think... William would be very suited for education?"

"It is indeed suitable, so we must crack down on those circulating reference answers," McGonagall said firmly.

"We cannot let William's efforts go to waste."

"Hmm, we can approve the large lecture hall for him." Dumbledore leaned back and asked:

Which subjects does he plan to tutor the students in?

"Potions, Transfiguration, Charms... a forbidden Defense Against Magic class."

"...??"

Dumbledore was completely bewildered.

"It's Defense Against the Dark Arts class," Professor McGonagall said helplessly.

William thought the name Defense Against the Dark Arts was unlucky, and that it was unsafe for him to tutor in that subject.

They used other names instead.

"Let him choose a name that's easier to pronounce."

McGonagall hummed in agreement, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "However, Karkaroff has some reservations."

"What?"

"He heard that Beauxbatons could attend classes at Hogwarts, so he applied as well."

"I can agree."

"But we don't speak the same language," Professor McGonagall sighed. "William provided Beauxbatons with his self-made translation machine for free."

He said the translation machine was too valuable, and Durmstrang would have to pay to rent it. Karkaroff believed that Hogwarts should cover the cost.

"..."

For a moment, Dumbledore was at a loss for words. Was William too good at making money, or was Karkaroff too stingy?

You can't even bear to pay the rent, what kind of principal are you... tsk tsk.

"What do you think, Minerva?"

"Then let's just drag it out," Professor McGonagall said softly. "Until Principal Karkaroff is willing to pay."

Let whoever wants to pay, pay... Anyway, Hogwarts won't take advantage of you.

Want to get money from her? Go ask Trelawney!

The next day, a huge notice was posted on the Gryffindor bulletin board, so big that it covered everything else on the board.

The new notice was printed in bold black font, with a formal-looking seal at the bottom and a neat, cursive signature next to it.

Akali O.W. Ls Intensive Course!

September is here, and I still don't know how to prepare for the O.W.Ls exam?

Akali selects top instructors and launches a self-developed course: a crash course for beginners aiming for success.

64 courses, taught by top-tier instructors from Beauxbatons, will guide you through the entire review process. Even beginners can easily pass the exam!

Course Highlights:

Practice questions and explanations help you score accurately.

Tips and tricks to help you score higher;

Even more top-secret practice questions, including four sets and eight sets of Akali practice tests...

The students all gathered around the bulletin board, staring blankly at the GG notice.

"Do you want to sign up for a class?" Eloise asked quickly.

"Of course I have to sign up, otherwise I definitely won't pass. I want to sign up for the whole package!" Katie said.

Harry and Ron stood in the crowd, also looking at GG, whispering to each other.

"I guess I'll have to sign up for it next year too," Harry sighed. "I might have to sign up for several, especially Potions."

Charlie told me that you need to reach an O in Potions to get into the advanced class and have a chance to be selected as an Auror.

Harry was a poor student, and his grades were always bad.

"However, Hermione said that William is looking for a Quidditch team and seems to want to buy Charlie Cannons."

"If possible... I could play for his team after I graduate," Harry hesitated.

William is a savvy team owner, not only is he knowledgeable, but more importantly, he has plenty of money!

If Harry becomes the team leader, given his relationship with William and Hermione, he can buy whoever he wants as a teammate!

He might be able to lead the club and restore the glory of the Charlie Cannons.

Ron didn't say anything, but glanced at the price and muttered, "So expensive."

"Maybe we can get Hermione to tutor us, that would save us a lot of money."

"You're overthinking it, Ron." Harry gave him a speechless glance. "Have you seen Hermione after school lately?"

"No, we stopped seeing her after class last year, didn't we?"

"That settles it. She seems busier than William... she doesn't have time to tutor you." Harry shrugged.

"Besides, she might be a tutor next year, and she won't have time to tutor you anymore."

A strange look appeared on Ron's face again. He said, "As long as I can win the championship... never mind, I'll definitely get up early tomorrow morning and go to the library!"

Harry rolled his eyes.

Ron has been saying that it's been over a week and he hasn't been to the library even once!

She even... caused him to be late a few times.

If there were a procrastination contest, Ron would definitely win first place.

Is this the legendary "good at nothing but procrastination"?
