Chapter 484 Harry's Whereabouts
Chapter 484 Harry's Whereabouts
The water gurgled and splashed, and a unique smell of cleaning chemicals wafted through the air.
William was wondering where they were. Hermione, however, had figured it out first and dragged him toward a cubicle.
He then realized that he was in... the women's restroom!
No wonder he wasn't familiar with it; the layout was completely different from the men's restroom. Not to mention, there wasn't that classic slogan on the wall:
One small step forward, one giant leap for civilization.
It was not an accident that he appeared in the women's restroom.
One of the characteristics of the time-traveling device is that the user can travel through time for a short period of time and usually appear in places they have been before.
At this point in time, the original William and Hermione would probably have just finished checking the women's restroom, looking for Peter.
While William was pondering, Hermione had already closed the toilet seat and sat down on it.
The two of them were crammed into a cubicle, staring at each other, and it was the women's restroom... There's probably nothing more strange than this!
Hermione clearly realized this too, her face flushing slightly. She shifted her position and whispered:
"Sit down!"
Okay, now something even stranger is happening!
William and Hermione sat on a toilet seat, their ears tucked in, eavesdropping on the sounds outside.
The wooden door to the women's restroom was ajar, allowing sound to pass through.
"...I need you to protect Harry, understand?" It was William's voice.
A moment later, Professor Lupin replied, "I understand."
Footsteps sounded, and William and Hermione quickly left.
"Let's go, Harry," Professor Lupin said.
Harry was silent for a moment, then suddenly spoke:
"Professor, I might... know... where Ron... Peter... is hiding!"
"No, I'll take you to the lounge. This isn't your business." Lupin shook his head.
"But, Professor," Harry said anxiously, "Peter will run away if we don't hurry."
Lupin paused for a moment, then said, "I'll take you to Professor Dumbledore..."
"It's too late! And Minister Fudge is in the office too. What if he finds out Peter is a fake..." Harry said painfully.
"I bet you anything that Minister Fudge would kill Sirius on the spot."
You don't want him... to die, do you?!
This statement clearly convinced Lupin, who simply said one word: "Let's go!"
Inside the bathroom, William and Hermione exchanged a glance.
They heard an explosion on the second floor, handed Harry over to Lupin, and hurriedly left... They had no idea what happened after that.
No wonder the two didn't go back to the lounge, but instead appeared near the Willow Tree.
It turns out it was because of Harry!
William cast a Disillusionment spell, and they hurriedly followed him out.
The group crossed the meadow and soon encountered Hagrid.
He was walking toward the castle, singing loudly, his body swaying slightly as he walked, carrying a large wine bottle in both hands, and he looked very happy.
"Hey Harry, Professor Lupin, what are you doing here?" Hagrid hiccuped.
"I'm celebrating Buckbeak, Harry, did you know that?"
William said it's fine, really fine... hahaha.
"That's really great," Harry said.
"Where are you going?" Hagrid asked.
"Harry says he knows where Peter is, and we're going to catch him now," Professor Lupin explained.
"Peter...what Peter?" Hagrid smashed the bottle in his hand.
"Peter is long dead, killed by Blake. What are you talking about?"
"That was before. Sirius has been proven innocent," Harry said quickly.
"He's in Professor McGonagall's office right now, but Peter Pettigrew has escaped, and we have to catch him now!"
"Oh, Merlin..." Hagrid suddenly came to his senses and said in a panic:
"I'm going to get my bow and arrows now; they're an alchemical artifact William gave me, and they're very powerful!"
Hagrid hurriedly ran towards his cabin.
Harry urged, "Professor, let's hurry! Hagrid will be here soon. We need to get there; we can't let Peter escape!"
Lupin did not object and ran towards the direction of the Willow Tree.
When he got near the Willow Tree, he found a long branch and used it to poke at the knots on the trunk. The Willow Tree stopped moving.
Suddenly, a figure appeared, lifting the invisibility cloak to reveal Peter's face.
He crept closer, raised his wand, and aimed it at Lupin's back.
William, concealed by the Disillusionment Charm, moved even faster, and a beam of light shot out, landing on Peter's arm.
He let out a painful roar, and a large amount of blood flowed out, splattering onto the ground.
Lupin immediately turned around and happened to see Peter.
What he saw was not only Peter, but also a full moon, completely emerging from the thick clouds!
Lupin froze, his limbs began to tremble, his head stretched out, and so did his body.
Hair sprouted from his face and hands, clearly visible, and his hands curled into claws.
The gray wolf opened its long jaws and let out a terrifying howl.
Awooooo!
It lowered its head coldly, its wolf eyes fixed on Harry beside it. Harry seemed stunned; he stood frozen, at a loss for what to do.
Lupin opened his mouth, which was full of sharp teeth, ready to pounce!
William's wand trembled again, and the gray wolf's chest shrank as it flew backward.
Lupin flipped in mid-air to dissipate most of the force, but after landing, he still slid a long distance, leaving a scratch on the ground.
Harry's legs finally kicked in, and he ran headlong into the secret passage beneath the Whomping Willow.
Peter put the invisibility cloak back on and disappeared into thin air once more.
Soon, a robe and a shoe were thrown out from the secret passage.
Clearly, Peter took this opportunity to run into the secret passage and capture Harry.
He threw down his clothes and shoes, along with the bloodstains on the ground, in an attempt to deliberately mislead everyone.
This led the Ministry of Magic to believe that Harry had been eaten by Lupin.
"Peter's run away! We need to hurry and catch up with him," Hermione said anxiously.
"No, if we leave now, Professor Lupin will be killed by Hagrid!" William said.
No sooner had he finished speaking than Hagrid came charging towards him.
He roared in fury and, like the Hulk, began to fight the gray wolf in front of him.
Lupin was no match for Hagrid and was quickly lifted up.
William swung his wand, and the Eye Strike spell shot out, striking Hagrid squarely in the eye.
Hagrid is a half-giant, which allows him to withstand many spells. However, his eyes are definitely one of his weaknesses.
Hagrid covered his eyes, abandoned the unconscious Lupin, and roared, "Who is it? Show yourself!"
No one spoke. Hagrid grabbed the bow and arrows from the ground and ran toward Lupin.
Another curse landed between Hagrid and Lupin, forcing him to retreat.
Hagrid roared, his body suddenly stiffening as he gripped the silver bow made by Nico tightly.
He quickly drew back the bowstring, which vibrated in subtle, overlapping arcs, humming softly.
boom!
The arrow shot out at lightning speed toward the direction where the curse appeared, reverberating through the air with a dull, suppressed sound.
William pulled Hermione behind him, swung his wand, and a loud bang suddenly erupted.
A dazzling streak of light swept across the night sky.
The long arrow forged by Nico was shattered by the blow, and the fragments bounced backward, slightly changing their trajectory, but still blasting several craters in the ground.
Dust flew everywhere.
William, with Hermione in his arms, ran to the side. He was no longer prepared to fight Hagrid.
Because Dumbledore and his companions appeared.
Everyone was stunned by the sight before them.
The headmaster inspected the ground, then glanced casually at the spot where William and Hermione were hiding.
Fudge was jumping around, trying to pin all the blame on the principal.
"Harry isn't dead!" Dumbledore interrupted Fudge.
Fudge raised his voice an octave higher, asking in surprise, "Where did they go?"
"Peter took him away," Dumbledore said calmly.
"Let's look around the neighborhood, maybe we'll find Harry!"
"Let's go, Hermione!"
Away from the Whomping Willow, William leaned close to Hermione's ear and whispered:
"We have about forty minutes left."
He finally understood why Dumbledore knew Harry wasn't nearby and deliberately wasted time searching.
It turns out it was to buy time for the two of them!
As expected of Professor Dumbledore!
