A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 466 That Damn Groundhog

Chapter 466 That Damn Groundhog

Banban finally died.

This is normal; it was just an ordinary, dying mouse, not the twelve-year-old "Spotted".

This was the conclusion reached by William and Hermione after multiple analyses, but there was no substantial evidence.

Peter spent twelve years at the Weasleys' house and seven years at Hogwarts without Dumbledore noticing anything unusual about him.

This is enough to demonstrate his caution.

Moreover, he was Tom's little spy. Tom's intelligence is beyond question; he probably even devised several plans for Peter to deal with the current situation.

It's normal that you can't find him!

However, Ron did not believe William and Hermione's speculation; he was extremely heartbroken.

"Look!" he roared, striding over to Hermione. "Scabbers is dead now, are you satisfied?"

William frowned and glanced at Ron. Ron, realizing his attitude was inappropriate, took two steps back.

"What does this have to do with us?" Hermione asked indifferently.

"Is it alright?" Ron asked angrily, clutching the dead rat in his hand.

"Your monster kept attacking Banban, which terrified it, otherwise it wouldn't have died so quickly."

"That's because Crookshanks can distinguish Animagus." Hermione glanced indifferently at the rat.

"Even now, you're still making excuses like this!"

Ron clenched his fist, and the groundhog in his hand screamed in pain.

"In the principal's office, it has been confirmed that Banban is fine; it's just an ordinary rat."

You're spouting nonsense, insisting Peter is alive when he's long dead!

"Yes, an ordinary rat can live for twelve years." Hermione lowered her head again, picked up the book in her hands, and said with a low, sarcastic tone:

"Your mice are incredibly resilient; are they some kind of magical new species?"

If you observe closely, you'll also notice that when Crookshanks returned from Christmas, he lost interest in the mouse.

These aren't your freckles, they just look similar, they were switched...

"I don't care about any of that!" Ron roared. "First it was Harry's Firebolt, which they insisted was a gift from Black, and then it was Scabbers!"

"You guys kept that black dog over the summer, found out it was Blake, so you're trying to find an excuse for him... deliberately protecting a criminal..."

"Shut up, you idiot!" Hermione slammed the book shut, stood up, and glared at Ron.

Ron took two steps back, somewhat fearful, and shouted angrily, "What did you say?!"

"I think... you heard me very clearly just now, I said you're an idiot."

"I've wanted to say this for a long time, you're incredibly stupid." Hermione said arrogantly. "Maybe even trolls are smarter than you."

Hermione didn't even look at Ron, but tilted her head and said to William, "Let's go, we have a date tonight."

There's no need to waste time on idiots.

Clutching her books, she tossed her hair and walked out haughtily.

William shrugged and followed him out of the Gryffindor common room.

After a while, Annie quietly followed them out.

The common room fell silent as everyone stared at Ron, wondering why they were arguing.

I didn't understand what they were saying.

"Okay, Ron. Didn't you keep saying how annoying Scabbers were?"

Fred was chatting with Angelina when he heard the argument and came over from a distance.

"And it has been lacking energy for a long time, it's been slowly fading away."

It might be better for it to die.

"I haven't even given it a good life yet!" Ron said miserably. "Remember, it helped us bite Gore's fingers."

"Yes, that's true," Harry said.

"Oh, that was its most glorious moment." Fred couldn't help but smile.

"Leave a scar on your finger as a permanent memory of it."

"Alright, Ron, go apologize to William and Hermione tomorrow."

"That's right, we'll just buy you an owl. What's the point of getting angry?" George said.

"No, I already have a new pet!" Ron refused.

"I found it in Hagrid's field around Christmas."

"...This groundhog?" Ginny pouted. "So ugly!"

Harry nodded subtly; he thought so too.

Moreover, this groundhog is too temperamental and not suitable to be a pet!

Several times in the middle of the night, he was woken up by the groundhog biting him.

It bit him hard, drawing blood from his arm, forcing him to go to the school hospital in the middle of the night to see Mrs. Pomfrey for treatment.

Harry would rather Crookshanks eat that damn groundhog than Scabbers!

Unfortunately, when Ron came back for Christmas last time, he gave Crookshanks a hard kick.

When Hermione saw this, the two had a big argument.

From then on, Crookshanks was temporarily cared for by William and stayed in the Ravenclaw common room.

Harry decided to put up with it for a while longer, or he would secretly get some rat poison and kill the groundhog.

Buy Ron an owl.

……

After avoiding Peeves and Filch, William and his two companions finally left the auditorium.

The sky was covered with large, dark clouds, which blocked the moon.

Hermione took out the Invisibility Cloak and draped it over herself and Anne.

"Are you sure you want to use the Invisibility Cloak?" William asked, waving his wand.

"Yes, it would be a waste if we didn't use it."

Hermione was no longer angry. She blinked and said, "It's your first time, why don't you try it too and experience the effect?"

"No, my Disillusionment Charm works better! I don't need the Invisibility Cloak." This was William's last act of defiance.

Anne lifted her clothes, and her body was gone; only her head was floating in mid-air, looking extremely horrifying.

She stuck her tongue out at William. "Then you can use the Disillusionment Charm yourself, brother. We don't need you."

"..."

William put away his wand and sighed softly. His Illusion Charm, which he had painstakingly practiced for so many years, was now useless?

He hates invisibility cloaks!

Hermione reached out from under her clothes and beckoned to William.

William struggled for a fraction of a second before giving up, grabbing Hermione's hand, and crawling inside as well.

"Weren't you going to use the Disillusionment Charm?"

As William entered, Anne raised her eyebrows.

"It's too cold, it'll be warmer if we squeeze in," William said.

Anne smirked, then pulled out five or six badges and handed them over.

"Hmm... I brought some warm-up badges. If you're cold, you can have them all."

She suddenly raised her hand and patted William's arm.

William reluctantly withdrew his hand from Hermione's shoulder.

He stared at Annie speechlessly.

Whose sister is this unfortunate child?

Mind your own business!

Hermione's eyes crinkled with amusement as she gave William a look that was both playful and helpless, while William's lips twitched.

She opened her mouth and whispered, "Don't bring Annie next time!"

William nodded in deep agreement.

The three crossed the meadow and soon arrived at Hagrid's cabin.

The room was still brightly lit, and the sound of someone reading aloud could be heard from inside.

Hagrid was reading aloud the defense statement written by William and his team.

Hagrid was clearly a poor student; he couldn't even speak fluently. He didn't recognize any of those technical terms.

After reading a few words, I had to stop and look up the phonetic symbols in the dictionary.

No matter how well the defense is written, Buckbeak cannot be forgiven based on Hagrid's spoken language alone.

Poor Buckbeak!
