A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 42 I've done my best.

Chapter 42 I Did My Best (Second Update)

Two hours later, Captain Truman lost his temper several times, smashing a Comet 260 and knocking out several teeth. Hufflepuff finally selected three Chaser players.

Cedric was left out; he seemed too excited, which led to a poor performance... Well, he didn't just have a poor performance, he practically turned into Milan's little blacksmith.

When Cedric pitched, William only heard the hoop making "thump thump thump" sounds, as if someone was missing a shot. He threw thirty Quakes and only made one.

In basketball, someone like Cedric would be the enemy's mole, while our team's Kobe is!

However, Cedric's flying skills were excellent, and captain Gabriel Truman decided to give him another chance to participate in the Seeker selection.

The audience erupted in loud laughter, and Cedric, pale as a vampire, looked unhappy.

He shielded his eyes from the sun, seemingly complaining that the sunlight was affecting his performance.

"Come on, Cedric!" a voice suddenly rang out from the stands.

Qiu stood on the chair, cupped her hands together like a megaphone, and shouted loudly.

Everyone was watching Qiu, but the girl showed no fear and continued to encourage Cedric.

A sour, lemony smell permeated the Quidditch training ground, and even Captain Truman was reluctant to give Cedric a chance.

It's so sour!

William, George, and Fred weren't idle either. They took out a tattered silver sheet from the Sniffer's magic pocket, on which was written in black ink: "Go Cedric!"

The font flashed like neon lights.

Sniffle lay on the chair crying loudly, her little paws kicking repeatedly at Fred's groin.

Fred remained unfazed, much to William's astonishment. It seemed that after being bitten last time, he had mastered the legendary Iron Crotch Kung Fu.

Cedric caught the Golden Snitch in just five minutes, making him, without a doubt, the youngest Seeker in Hufflepuff Quidditch history.

Watching the Quidditch selection process, William began to look forward to the arrival of his flying lessons.

In his past life, he was the star point guard of the orphanage basketball team, and was known in the surrounding villages as the "Three-Point Killer Little Curry"!

In Ravenclaw's flying class, on Friday afternoon of the second week, they will have class with Hufflepuff.

As a college known for producing academically gifted students, sports have never been Ravenclaw's strong suit.

The Eagles are even worse off than Gryffindors, having not won the Quidditch Cup for seven consecutive years!

Ravenclaw Quidditch team is seen as weaklings by Slytherins, easy points by Gryffindors, and trash by Hufflepuffs.

Dean Professor Flitwick was also helpless. He wished he could go up and play himself. After all, it was three to zero. He could do it too!

There are too many reasons why Ravenclaw has fallen to its current state: lack of fighting spirit, selection system, player attitude... You can find any problem you can think of at Ravenclaw Academy.

In the words of Jack Van, former captain of Ravenclaw and current manager of the Scottish runner-up:

"What level is Ravenclaw Quidditch at now? There are only a few players like that. Even Roger Davis and the like are now chasing the ball."

Can he score? No, he can't. He doesn't have the ability, you know?!

Finally, in an interview with the Daily Prophet, Jack Van pointed the finger directly at the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.

"Ravenclaw suffered seven consecutive losses, how do you explain that? They've completely lost face!"

Jack Van claims that Ravenclaw needs a talented captain to lead the team, at least someone like the Bulgarian prodigy Krum, who is at that level.

Well, Ravenclaw Quidditch's reputation isn't great, but that doesn't stop first-year wizards from bragging about it.

They all thought they were one in a million ball-playing geniuses!

Marcos Belby spends all his time talking about the pros and cons of various brooms on the market; if you didn't know better, you'd think he was the chief designer of the Nimbus Flying Broom Company.

He loudly complained that first-year students were not eligible to join the college Quidditch team, and he went on to tell many long, boastful stories.

In the end, it always ends with him almost passing through the Earth's atmosphere.

However, he wasn't the only one making such boasts: judging from Eddie Cammitchell's tone, it seemed as if he spent all of his childhood on flying broomsticks.

He claimed he was writing to the Chadley Artillery Corps, and the corps leader said he would seriously consider his suggestion.

Even Marietta Eckmore, if someone is willing to listen, will recount how she once nearly crashed into a rocket while riding her women's broom, causing a Muggle aviation accident.

Everyone from a wizarding family talked incessantly about Quidditch.

The book "Quidditch Origins," which was originally gathering dust in the library, suddenly became a hot seller.

Other similar books were also borrowed by everyone; it seemed that getting this book gave you a head start over others.

Marcos Belby had a big fight with his dorm roommates Bradley and Chambers.

They were arguing about who was the greatest among all the athletes.

Marcos said it was Scottish Seeker Hector Lamont.

Although the Scottish national team lost to Canada by a narrow margin of thirty points in this year's Quidditch World Cup, only managing to secure second place.

But this does not diminish Hector Lamont's greatness in any way.

After all, Henrique did his best, so the loss isn't his fault.

Marcos also suggested that Hector join the Irish national team to play his native Quidditch.

As for Bradley, he claimed that Magic Johnson of the Lakers was greater, since at this point, Johnson had not yet been diagnosed with AIDS, and Jordan had just been eliminated by the Bad Boys.

Chambers, however, believes Maradona is the greatest player of all time.

William also happened to see Marcos poking around on Bradley's Lakers poster, trying to get the players moving.

William found it strange; how did these three different sports end up arguing?

The argument finally died down when William put up a large Madonna poster in his dorm room and pulled out several pamphlets promoting the Victoria's Secret Angels in the UK.

No one claimed those few players were the greatest anymore. Max even apologized out of shame, and Chambers deeply regretted his naiveté.

William undoubtedly saved the friendship in this dormitory, his methods were gentle and subtle, like a spring breeze nourishing the earth!

William couldn't help but marvel at the naivety of these young wizards.

He recalled his high school roommates from his previous life, who had also argued over a few players.

William pulled out a similar island nation poster, thinking that everyone would make up, but unexpectedly, they all suddenly became addicted to gambling.

Every night, William could hear his roommate's voice coming from under the covers: "Macau's first online casino has launched..."

William quickly moved out, afraid his roommate would ask him for money!
