A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 377 The Master of Mediation and the Dementor

Chapter 377 The Master of Mediation and the Dementor

The Hogwarts Express, a 19th-century museum-quality train, was not built by wizards, but by Muggle engineers from Crewe, Cheshire, England.

More than 160 years ago, when it was first put into use, it was opposed by some pure-blood families.

They refused to use these Muggle-made devices as a means of transportation for wizards. They even claimed that the method was "unsafe, unhygienic, and degrading."

There's a strange feeling about it, like "Your Majesty, foreigners are coming to build our high-speed rail."

To silence these people and to protect the students' safety, Ottalayn Gamble, the then Minister of Magic, ordered the Aurors to cast numerous protective charms on the train.

Each time it would consume a lot of manpower, so the practice of casting protective charms gradually stopped, and instead the Hogwarts professors painted a lot of ancient runes on the carriage.

Compared to protective spells, defensive magic composed of ancient runes can last longer and provides better protection.

Therefore, for a long time, a professor would be stationed on the Hogwarts Train to prevent attacks.

This was especially true when the Death Eaters were at their most rampant!

However, with Voldemort's downfall, he gradually stopped sending professors.

William didn't know whether Professor Lupin, while reminiscing about his memories by train, had any intention of protecting his students.

But this professor, who hadn't yet entered Hogwarts, definitely didn't know how to activate ancient runes for defense.

But the Sorting Hat knows. It's the Hogwarts know-it-all, the one Anne calls "Little Hermione."

Before becoming university presidents, professors throughout history would first visit the Sorting Hat to pay their respects and learn some little-known inside stories.

William happens to be proficient in ancient runes, making him a perfect substitute for the professor in activating defensive magic.

So he was really angry... Why did he have to waste his magic power to resist such a good thing for so long?

As the magical runes appeared on the train, the rain continued to patter outside. Inside, however, everything shimmered brilliantly!

The lightning crashed down from the sky with tremendous force, as if striking a rock, creating a burst of sparks and lightning before being completely annihilated.

Its defensive effect is far superior to the super armor that William hastily deployed!

The young wizards stared at each other in awe, their hearts burning with excitement. They were unaware of its power and thought it was magic cast by William!

Covering an entire train with ancient magical runes—such a massive undertaking couldn't possibly have been accomplished by William in a short time!

Even if he could set it up, his own magic power wouldn't be enough to support the operation of the defense system.

Unable to withstand the pressure from the Thunderbird, William breathed a sigh of relief.

He casually placed the Sorting Hat on Anne's head, then walked to the window, bent down to pick up the string of seashell wind chimes, and gently hung them around his waist.

The seashells were ones they found on Biarritz beach; Anne gave them to Luna, who then made them into wind chimes.

"I'll go lure the Thunderbird away. It can't keep attacking like this," William said, ruffling Hermione's hair.

The girl nodded slightly and whispered a word of advice, "Be careful."

Lupin drifted off into thought for a moment, as if he were seeing James and Lily from back then.

"Mr. Stark, how did you lure him away?" Professor Lupin asked urgently. "Child! Don't be impulsive..."

William had already vanished in a phantom form and appeared on top of the train.

He stretched, letting the raindrops pelt his robe, then arrogantly gave the sky the middle finger!

Lupin stared in disbelief, unsure if the boy was truly Ravenclaw. The hawks he remembered weren't like this.

William vanished and reappeared not far away, where the Thunderbird had angrily unleashed a bolt of lightning upon the spot where he had been standing.

William continued to appear in phantom form, seven times in a row, each step unleashing bursts of lightning, appearing from afar like a thunder king descending to earth.

He was dashing and unrestrained, and the wind chimes hanging from his waist jingled, making the little wizards on the train swoon!

William glanced out of the corner of his eye and noticed a group of Slytherin snakes crammed into one carriage.

Pansy was hiding in Malfoy's arms, seemingly very scared. Malfoy was hiding in Crabbe's arms, seemingly even more frightened. Crabbe was huddled in Goyle's arms...

So they've started nesting dolls?

"William, I'm here! I'm right here!" Daphne waved and called out.

She was emotionally distraught, but due to the crowded conditions and difficulty breathing, she went into shock.

He then looked at Daphne. From his perspective, the girl had suddenly collapsed.

William thought for a moment, and figured she probably owed money and hadn't paid it back, so her sister Astoria had knocked her unconscious.

What happens to deadbeats!

Wait... Astoria is kissing Daphne.

Oh, Merlin! What amazing twin sisters these are! William felt as if he had discovered a new world, and his knowledge of strange and wonderful things was increasing.

William glanced at them out of the corner of his eye, then stopped observing the group of snakes and leaped off the top of the train.

He transformed into a sea eagle, swooping diagonally forward and flying straight towards the Thunderbird.

You've even slain a fire dragon, so what are you, a distant relative of a phoenix?!

Killing you is as easy as killing a chick!

William flew into the air, his ego inflated, ready to kill the Thunderbird first... but he only looked cool for less than five seconds before turning and running away.

because……

Suddenly, a large number of Dementors appeared from the clouds. There were no fewer than two or three hundred of them. They were so densely packed that they blotted out the sun.

The Dementors charged straight at the Thunderbird. Lightning was useless against the Dementors, and the Thunderbird immediately backed down, turning and fleeing without a second's delay.

Oh ho, Dementors aren't entirely useless, at least when it comes to mediating fights...they're in a league of their own!

Wait... some of the Dementors are heading straight for William.

William landed on the roof of the car, transformed back into a human, and then Apparated back into the car.

Everyone saw the Dementors in the sky. Ron cried out in horror, "So many ghosts!"

"That's not a ghost, it's a Dementor," Professor Lupin explained.

"Loud voice!" he shouted again, pointing his wand at his throat.

"None of us are hiding Sirius Black. Go ahead, this place is full of students, search other areas."

Professor Lupin's "Face Fruit" was useless against the Dementors; they not only didn't leave, but followed the train, lingering outside the windows.

But the defensive magic composed of runes acted like an impenetrable wall, blocking them.

They hissed, as if they wouldn't give up until they finished their inspection.

The train suddenly jolted and came to a stop, with a series of thumping and banging sounds coming from afar, as if luggage had fallen from the racks.

Professor Lupin said, "I'll go and negotiate with the Dementors to get them to leave; you all stay here."

The professor gave William a special look before leaving.

William shrugged. That's the annoying thing about Britain; the Dementors are on orders from the Ministry of Magic to search for Black, and they currently have the authority to inspect anywhere.

In France, it's different. If you disagree with someone, you can just fight them without being accused of assaulting a police officer. You might even get a good citizen award from the French Ministry of Magic.

It seems catching another Dementor will be a bit difficult!
