Chapter 373 The Time Lord's Dementors
Chapter 373 The Time Lord's Dementors
As a parkour-savvy cat, Crookshanks has maximum agility.
Not to mention the almost unsolvable racial suppression, this little mouse Banban is no match for it at all.
It dodged left and right, and had no choice but to flee into the nearest sewer.
Unfortunately, Crookshan demonstrated what it means to have claws as swift as the wind and as fast as lightning.
It reached one paw into the gap of the grid-like manhole cover, hooked the spotted rat back, grabbed its head, and shook it wildly.
It feels a bit like the Hulk beating Loki.
But just before Crookshan could bite, Ron rushed over, swinging his pack at him and yelling, "Get out of my way, you beast!"
Crookshan leaped out, crouched low, and let out a threatening roar.
"Ron, don't hurt Crookshanks!" Hermione screamed.
William waved his wand, and Crookshanks flew over, still roaring and trying to rush over and bite Scabbers.
"Keep an eye on your cat," Ron yelled. "Spotty's sick! Don't let it near!"
"Crooked Hill doesn't know it's wrong!" Hermione said. "All cats catch mice, Ron!"
"Bobo tea won't scratch freckles! Neither will Mrs. Lorice!"
Ron quickly hid the freckles in his shirt pocket and glared at Crookshank.
"Except for this monster!"
"Crooked Mountain is not a monster!" Hermione exclaimed angrily.
Fred interrupted their argument, showing unprecedented concern.
"Ron, hurry up and give your tonic to Scabbers."
"Yes, Banban has lost a lot of weight; the tonic will be helpful," George said at the opportune moment.
The two spared no effort in their concern, wanting to see if the aphrodisiac would work on animals. Banban became their first test subject.
William hugged Crookshank and stroked its head.
With skillful petting, Crookshank gradually calmed down, purring contentedly.
It raised its chin, as if asking William to scratch it again.
William scratched it a couple of times, then lost interest. He was attracted to good looks, and Crookshanks was...well, let's just say he wasn't good-looking; he had no appetite for cats.
Hermione then walked over, still looking quite angry.
"That's strange, isn't it? Crookshanks never eats random things," Hermione said.
William nodded.
However, cats sometimes catch mice not just to eat them, but also to play with them!
Crookshan clearly wanted to play with Spotted the mouse and develop a friendship with it that transcended species.
After saying goodbye to Mr. Weasley, the group boarded the train.
"Hey, William, over here!" Qiu poked her head out from one of the carriages and waved.
The group walked over and found that Luna and Cedric were already sitting inside.
"Wow!" Fred exclaimed, wiping his hands. "Mr. Diggory, may I have the honor of touching your trophy?"
Cedric tossed a prefecture badge from his pocket. "It's yours if you like it."
"You said it yourself!"
"A fake badge." William tapped his wand lightly, and the badge turned into a blank piece of paper.
He tapped it again, and the white paper turned into spots. Unfortunately, Crookshan showed no interest whatsoever, and even let out a bored yawn.
Just as Fred was about to throw the fake freckles away, Cedric quickly said, "Don't throw it! That's a real badge!"
He waved his wand, and the mouse turned back into a badge.
Cedric glanced at his friend and said speechlessly, "William, you're really not being fair."
Fred tossed the badge to Cedric and waved it off, saying:
"Cedric, you shouldn't say that. You're a mature prefect now, you need to learn how Percy exercises his authority to deduct points..."
George mimicked Percy: "Stark... Ravenclaw loses two points because of your prank!"
Everyone laughed. Percy loved deducting points from the twins. He deducted even more points than the kind-hearted Professor Flitwick.
Cedric glanced at Cho, then quickly gave William a knowing look.
William immediately understood and exclaimed in surprise, "Hey! Cedric, aren't you supposed to be going to the prefect's car? Why are you still here?"
What a good friend! William always understands what he means immediately.
Cedric felt a surge of relief.
He had been in the carriage for half a day, and Qiu hadn't asked him that question.
While Qiu went to the restroom, he hinted to Luna several times, but she always stared with innocent, big eyes, seemingly not understanding.
How come this seemingly clever girl is so unteachable when it really matters?
That's why sometimes, a good wingman is so important!
It's just that he's not a girl. If he were Cedric, he would definitely fall for William and boldly pursue him. It's not impossible that he would even be a yandere who reverses the situation!
What's Hermione compared to that French girl named Fleur? They can't possibly compete with "her" having already made it a done deal.
Cedric's mind raced, but he feigned a sigh and began his performance.
"It doesn't matter whether I go or not. I really don't like going to the prefect's car—I mean, the biggest mistake I've made since entering school has been becoming a prefect at Hufflepuff."
I just want to be a simple little wizard, with William, with everyone, and with Cho! Not some high-class carriage.
When Cedric said this, he quickly glanced at everyone, and finally lingered on Cho for a long time.
Here it comes! The belated but finally arriving sycophantic skills are activated!
William hugged Crookshan tightly, trying not to laugh out loud. Crookshan was instantly flattened by his weight.
Clearly, Cedric's sycophantic behavior also made Crookshank uncomfortable; look at its persimmon-like face... it's all twisted and ferocious!
Annie, Luna, and Ginny were huddled in a corner reading a magazine. Luna, who had been quiet all along, suddenly burst into laughter.
At this moment, Luna perfectly embodied the phrase: "Still as if paralyzed, moving as if having an epileptic seizure."
Just moments ago she was as quiet as a fairy, but now she seems to have lost control, pounding on the table.
She laughed so hard that the magazine in her hand fell to the floor.
Startled, Crookshan jumped onto the luggage rack, its fur standing on end, hissing loudly.
Fortunately, everyone was already used to Luna's style and wasn't scared.
Hermione picked up the Quibbler that Luna had dropped and began to read it softly:
One of the world's top ten unsolved mysteries: The missing Dementors!
For over a century, Dementors have lived in Azkaban, and we do not know where they came from.
But recent evidence suggests that Dementors are actually the product of alien wizards on Earth.
According to my in-depth research, Dementors do not have their own writing system; all their knowledge is passed down orally from generation to generation. Yet, these very creatures possess astonishing astronomical knowledge.
They knew of the existence of 'Galifre' without needing telescopes. And this planet has yet to be observed by wizards.
The Dementors affectionately call Galifre "Curry Star," inhabited by a terrifying wizard known as the Time Lord. The Dementors are creations of the Time Lord.
The Dementors that went missing in France were likely taken away by the Time Lord using the TARDIS.
The Dementors are both coordinates and monitors. We must be wary of the Time Lord's invasion. The time left for the wizards... is really running out.
Of course, there's also an interesting theory that the Dementors accidentally entered a time rift and traveled back in time.
A wizard was attacked by a Dementor in 1973. He has now come forward to identify the missing Dementor as the one that attacked him years ago.
If true, this means that the Dementors traveled back twenty years.
These are the two hypotheses that are closest to the truth. As for the others, in my opinion, they are all conspiracy theories or sensationalism, and are not worth a second glance...
Hermione finished reading, and the carriage fell silent.
William couldn't help but shake his head and sigh, "Singing a different tune still has that familiar flavor."
