A Certain Magical Hogwarts
Chapter 293 The Miserable Lockhart
Chapter 293 The Miserable Lockhart
"Principal, I just wanted to play a joke on everyone, to relax and cultivate our minds."
At the dinner, Lockhart sat at the head table and explained loudly.
Although he verbally admitted defeat, he was secretly quite pleased with himself.
Since the last duel at the club, most students know he's a fraud, and not many are willing to believe him anymore.
For example, this time, the number of greeting cards... is a clear indicator: most female students no longer send him greeting cards!
This shouldn't be happening!
Lockhart then came up with this idea, which successfully attracted the attention of most people.
The effect was indeed very good; everyone was still discussing it at the dinner party.
"Was that a joke? Many students were terrified!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed angrily.
The Black Mark was a terrifying thing in that era!
Professor McGonagall knew a friend who, after shopping, noticed a Dark Mark floating in the distance and decided to go and investigate... only to find the mark above her house!
McGonagall still remembers the other person's expression.
"This is completely different from the Black Mark; it's just my personal profile picture," Lockhart insisted.
Dumbledore remained silent, squinting at Lockhart.
"Don't be nervous, I feel great." Snape smiled, which was unusual for him. "Come on, have some whiskey!"
Snape poured Lockhart a glass of wine.
"Ha, how did you know I like Bushmills whisky?"
Professor Lockhart sniffed his wine glass and exclaimed excitedly, "Snape, are you a fan of my books too?"
He grabbed Snape's hand.
Snape, forcing back his nausea, said, "Of course I am! Come, drink this first!"
"Okay, but adding a little red wine would probably make it taste even better!"
Lockhart poured the red wine in front of him into the whiskey and then drank it all in one gulp.
"Not bad, wow! They even added a euphoric drug," Lockhart commented.
"Principal, you can't let Lockhart get away with this!" Professor McGonagall's voice was shrill.
"It's alright," Dumbledore said softly.
He closed his eyes and began to think about some things.
"Let...let me do what?" Lockhart looked confused, turning to stare at McGonagall with a strange expression on his face.
"You must apologize to the entire student body; you frightened them," Professor McGonagall said sternly, her lips pursed.
"Yes, I must apologize." Lockhart suddenly looked sad.
"Professor McGonagall, you're right. I must have scared my sweetheart."
"Hmm?" Professor McGonagall paused, taken aback. "Sweetie?"
"Yes, my dearest." Lockhart flashed his gleaming teeth again.
"What does the person you love have to do with what we were just talking about?" Professor McGonagall asked impatiently.
"Of course it's related, the person I love is at school." Lockhart looked at the Gryffindor dining table.
"Professor Lockhart, are you having an affair with a student?" Professor McGonagall knocked over the golden cup in front of her.
"How dare you?!"
“That’s not how it is,” Lockhart sighed. “You…you don’t understand.”
"No way, it's Valentine's Day today, I'm going to confess my feelings." Lockhart jumped up.
"Where are you going?" Professor McGonagall also stood up.
Lockhart's gaze remained fixed on Gryffindor, where her students were located.
Lockhart's incompetence was one thing, but she couldn't tolerate this liar making a move on her female students!
"McGirl, don't stop me!" Lockhart shouted angrily.
"I can't take it anymore, I have to confess! I can't stop thinking about him," Lockhart said hoarsely.
"he……?!"
Professor McGonagall stared in disbelief, glancing instinctively at Lockhart's glass.
All the professors noticed something was wrong with Lockhart's glass; it seemed to contain an aphrodisiac.
Everyone looked at Snape, but the professor acted as if nothing was wrong.
He laughed and said, "Go quickly, the person you're looking for is at the Gryffindor table."
"Look... that shorty next to Ron Weasley, that's him!"
"Oh, Severus, you're such a good man." Lockhart patted his pocket, picked up a quill pen, and quickly signed his name.
"Here, this is my autograph."
Snape reluctantly accepted it.
"How do I look?" Lockhart tidied his hair.
"Very...handsome!"
"That's great!" Lockhart said eagerly as he headed toward the Gryffindor dining table.
Lockhart's golden hair shimmered in the candlelight, and he wore his signature smile.
Harry's heart pounded; he sensed Lockhart walking toward him.
That intuition can't be wrong!
Damn!
Is he replying to his readers again?
"Help me, Ron, don't let Lockhart come over," Harry urged. "I don't want to go with him to write fan replies!"
Harry stood up, ready to run away.
Ron said "Oh" and quickly stepped in to stop him.
"Professor, there are some things I don't understand about the content of your book. I'd like to talk to you alone. How about we go to your office?" Ron said, embarrassed.
But Lockhart kicked Ron away, giving him no chance to use underhanded tactics.
Harry hadn't run two steps when a pair of hands grabbed his clothes.
"Hey, you! Harry Potter!" a particularly gloomy-faced dwarf shouted, "This is your love letter, you have to hear it!"
It's like when it rains, it pours!
"Not here," Harry pleaded in a low voice. "To my dorm!"
"Stop right there!" the dwarf grunted, his strength was extraordinary, and he dragged Harry back.
"This is your Valentine's Day gift with a song:"
His eyes were as green as freshly pickled toads, and he was as black and dashing as a blackboard. I wished he were mine; he was so handsome, a warrior who had conquered the dark devil.
Laughter erupted from the crowd, and Harry blushed deeply.
Most importantly, Lockhart arrived.
After serving Lockhart for one night, Harry couldn't lift his right hand for a week and was mentally unstable.
Harry watched Lockhart approach, and he closed his eyes in despair.
Lockhart rushed over and grabbed Harry's messy hair.
"Stay away from him, Potter. Are you trying to steal my man?" Lockhart said angrily.
Harry: "??"
Lockhart punched Harry to the ground, hugged the dwarf, gently lifted his chin, and gave a wicked smile.
Dwarf: "??"
The two stared at each other for almost a minute before Lockhart said gently, "Let's go to my office. We'll have a good talk about how I 'tamed' the troll... You can cooperate and act it out for me!"
"But... Potter's love letters..." The little man was still very dedicated.
"To hell with Potter!" Lockhart pulled out his wand and said to Harry, "Pass out!"
"Alright, no one's bothering us now."
Lockhart put his arm around the dwarf and walked toward his office.
Only the unconscious Harry and the bewildered Ron were left behind.
"Principal... what... what should we do?" Professor McGonagall exclaimed in panic.
Snape chuckled. "Relax, Professor McGonagall. Obviously, we can't stop Gilderoy from finding love, can we?"
Dumbledore opened his eyes and gave Snape a stern look.
Snape muttered, "We all know he's a fraud. Think of all the wizards he's cast the Oblivion Curse on."
And the Dark Mark... I'm being lenient by not sending him to Azkaban!
"Go and give Lockhart the antidote," Dumbledore said softly.
"Okay, I'll go!" Snape shrugged.
He added in his mind, "I'll go in a bit."
At the end of the dinner,
All the students crowded into the corridor as they headed toward the common room.
Everyone suddenly stopped in their tracks.
Because a heart-wrenching scream came from Lockhart's office!
ah ah ah ah...
Appeared!
Everyone started whispering among themselves; the next person to be attacked had finally appeared!
Professor Lockhart is so cruel.
What a pity.
The killer?
It must be the "Bo and Wei duo"... Everyone saw Lockhart beat them up during the dinner!
That's a perfectly valid reason.
