A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 282: Time for the short film segment again.

"Oreo!"

Standing in the third-floor corridor, William uttered a password that clearly reflected Annie's fondness for snacks.

The enormous, hideous stone monster at the entrance seemed to come alive, leaping to the side, and the wall behind it split in two.

William stepped onto the spiral staircase and came to a gleaming oak door.

He knocked on the door, and a voice came from inside. "Come in."

William reached out to push the door, but it was suddenly yanked open from the inside, and Professor Snape stood there, panting.

The professor's originally sallow face flushed slightly.

A series of questions flashed through William's mind: Had Snape just been running in the office?

"Ah! Shittucker's here too." Snape made way for William, then glared at Dumbledore and sneered:

"Would you like your favorite student to describe what happened in the auditorium tonight?"

William realized he had arrived at the wrong time; the two had clearly just been engaged in a passionate tongue-to-tongue exchange, their faces flushed red.

Snape glared at William, probably seeking support, and said loudly:

"Weasley almost killed Malfoy with dark magic. If he's not expelled, I think the next ones to be attacked might be your girlfriend and your sister."

William wiped the drool off his face; Snape's yellow teeth were practically touching his mouth.

William had previously considered giving Snape Liuwei Dihuang Pills as a gift, but now he has a new idea: he'll give him a tube of Darlie toothpaste for Christmas.

And who is his girlfriend?

How come William didn't know such a thing existed?!

He's still single, okay?

They're always slandering honest people!

"I will discuss Mr. Weasley's punishment with Professor McGonagall. It's late, Severus, you may go back now," Dumbledore said calmly.

Upon hearing the headmaster's order to leave, Snape looked at him with disappointment, like a wronged woman.

"You're kicking me out already?!"

"Or, you could come back after I leave?" William suggested tentatively.

Snape glared at William, turned and left, grabbing the wooden door and slamming it down to vent his anger.

"Ahhhhh!"

Professor Snape caught his hand and let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Then came the sound of Snape kicking the door again, cursing and swearing.

"Please close the door and sit down, William." Dumbledore's voice sounded tired.

William nodded, forcing himself not to show any schadenfreude.

"William, what brings you here?" Dumbledore asked softly.

"I need to report something to you... about Ron."

"Are you here also to ask me to fire Mr. Weasley?"

"No, that's a matter for you and the professors, but I must report to you about the source of his use of dark magic."

"Of course," Dumbledore nodded. "But before we talk about that, take a look at this."

Dumbledore pulled a letter from a pile of documents and tossed it to William.

"What is this, Professor?"

"Do you remember when Mrs. Weasley bought your family-sized Hogwarts map?"

William nodded slightly.

This happened in second grade.

Based on the Hogwarts map, he also sold deluxe editions, family editions, couple editions, and buddy editions...

Of course, in the UK, the last version can basically be categorized as a couple's version.

The home version of the map shows the students' exact location, allowing you to determine if they are attending classes normally.

Mrs. Weasley bought Ron and the twins, and she even sent a yelling letter about it!

Finally, William gave the twins a special favor: he sent home their roommate's location, while Ron received a real map.

"After the attack, Molly had nothing to do all day, so she habitually stared at the map."

She discovered that Ron had twice left school alone to go to the Forbidden Forest, which is why Arthur wrote me the letter.

Are you alone?

"Yes."

William opened the letter and quickly glanced at it. It turned out that Dumbledore had already noticed Ron's unusual behavior.

"Alright, now it's time to tell me your intelligence."

Dumbledore crossed his arms, mimicking listening to a story.

"Professor Snape has already told you about tonight's events, hasn't he?"

"That's right, Ron unexpectedly used a dark spell."

"Ron confessed that he learned it from a diary. When he wrote on it, the diary would respond."

Dumbledore's expression remained unchanged.

"Magical items with their own consciousness are not too novel. The Sorting Hat can do it, and most portraits are like that."

I just happened to be... training my portrait.

The portraits in the principal's office all nodded proudly.

"But that diary was made by a student from fifty years ago, who deliberately lured Ron into learning dark magic," William said softly.

His implication was that the series of attacks might all be related to the diary.

"Who made that diary?" Dumbledore asked.

"Tom Riddle, do you remember this student?"

William was quite certain that Dumbledore's pupils had suddenly contracted when he mentioned "Tom Riddle".

"Who is Tom Riddle? A professor?"

Dumbledore was lost in thought, and after a moment he explained:

"Few people know that Voldemort was formerly called Tom Riddle. I personally taught him at Hogwarts fifty years ago."

He disappeared after leaving school... He traveled far and wide, his footprints covering the world... He sank deeper and deeper into the quagmire of dark magic, mingling with the most evil guys in the wizarding world, undergoing many dangerous magical transformations, and finally reappeared as Voldemort, making him almost unrecognizable.

Almost no one associated Voldemort with the smart, handsome student council president who had once studied here.

"So, this is Voldemort's diary?" William frowned.

I never expected it to be Voldemort's stuff!

He actually kept a diary when he was young?

really,

The Dark Lord has never been a decent person since he was a child!

There were signs all along.

"Is Voldemort back?" William asked.

Last year, he came back and possessed Quirrell. Is he going to use the same trick again this year and possess the notebook he used when he was young?

"No." Dumbledore shook his head. "I don't think he's back. He was seriously injured last year and is still recuperating in the Albanian forests. He won't be making any moves anytime soon."

William squinted, puzzled. "That's strange then. A diary from fifty years ago—assuming he instigated Ron to launch the attack, that's probably the limit... How could he control so many people at the same time and have them identify Harry?"

"I have a little guess about this as well," Dumbledore sighed.

He walked around the table and past William.

William turned around in his chair and watched Dumbledore lean down in front of the cabinet by the door.

When Dumbledore straightened up, he was holding a shallow stone basin that he recognized, with a ring of ancient runes engraved around its rim.

Dumbledore placed the Pensieve on the table in front of William.

"Where are we going, Professor?" William asked.

"An attack, that happened more than ten years ago."

William marveled; Dumbledore always managed to get his hands on these old memories.

Finally, it's time for the much-anticipated short film screening!

It's his favorite!

(If I don't update this afternoon, it can only mean one thing: your beloved YaYa died because of a toothache!)

It hurts so much! My wisdom tooth hurts so much, and my trigeminal nerve hurts so much that I can't concentrate on typing.

By the way, I'd like to ask for some recommendation votes and monthly tickets, everyone. This is my humble wish before I die (ˇˇ).
