A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 239 Tyco Dodonas's Prediction

Chapter 239 Tyco Dodonas's Prediction

After buying the flying broom, the three headed towards Flourish and Blotts bookstore.

Most of the textbooks had already been bought, and William had been using the new books to teach the two of them during this period.

However, they still need to supplement their collection with some books, such as Lockhart's Seven-Piece Set.

The bookstore was packed with people, but they were all queuing outside the store.

Today is Lockhart's new book launch, and they've all come to sign copies.

Most of the people in the crowd were witches of Mrs. Weasley's age, and Lockhart's reputation as a "ladies' man" was well-deserved.

William seemed to envision Cedric opening a wand shop in the future, and he guessed it would be something like this.

A group of elderly witches lined up at the door waiting for him to sell his wands and then give them his autograph.

The three of them walked around the crowd and entered the bookstore.

William needed to buy textbooks that he hadn't studied in the time loop, such as Cassandra Vabraski's "Seeing the Future Through the Fog".

Cassandra Vabraski is a famous prophet who is over ninety years old and still alive. She was also Newt's senior in school.

Unlike Newt, who dropped out of school midway, Cassandra graduated smoothly and later became a Hogwarts professor. She was replaced by Professor Trelawney after she retired.

William was a VIP member of Flourish and Blotts and had bought a large number of books. When he heard that William had arrived, the bookstore manager immediately came out.

The manager led William to the back of the bookstore. There was a corner there filled with books on divination.

There were many books on a small table, such as "Prophecy of the Unforeseen: Protect Yourself from Misfortune" and "The Broken Ball: When Fate Strikes."

"All the basic divination methods in 'Seeing the Future Through the Fog'—palm reading, crystal balls, bird entrails... all have very useful guiding value," the manager explained.

But William didn't listen to him; his gaze fell on another book, one on the top shelf: Tyco Dodonas's Predictions.

This book is a famous book of prophecy, and its position in the history of prophecy is roughly equivalent to that of the Tui Bei Tu.

But most wizards only regard it as poetry.

William had heard old man Newt mention that famous prophecy:

Men are cruelly exiled.

The daughter was in deep despair.

The warriors returned home to avenge their defeat.

Soaring through the water with outstretched wings.

Before the Battle of Père Lachaise Cemetery, this prophecy was already circulating widely, with many believing it referred to the Obscurial Clydes.

He is believed to be Corvace Lestrange, the mysteriously missing child of the pure-blood Lestrange family.

But it was later proven that he was not a Lestrange child.

William waved his wand, and the book appeared in his hand. He opened the book of prophecy and casually flipped to the seventh page.

That page also contained only four simple sentences.

"Ha, ruthless demon king!"

Ah, broken soul!

The self-exile of those years

Reborn from the gift of death.

William was completely baffled; prophecies were like that, never speaking in human language.

"Mr. Stark, if I were you, I wouldn't be reading a book like this," the manager said casually when he saw William looking at the book.

"This is an old relic published in the last century; it's just a collection of poems, nothing more than a hoax."

William neither confirmed nor denied it, but said, "Pack this book up for me too."

William was preparing to consult with his future divination teacher, Professor Trelawney, before the start of the semester.

This is someone Dumbledore has taken a liking to; he must have some talent, right?

Soon, at the corner, William ran into Luna and her father.

Luna was wearing a sparkly dress and two thumb-sized pumpkin-carved earrings.

Luna's father was even stranger; he was wearing a long black robe with the words "Sing a Quixote" written in white on it.

Luna's style of dress is clearly influenced by Lovegood.

"There are so many people, aren't there?" Luna said. "They're all queuing up to buy Lockhart's books, but I don't feel any wisdom in him."

"He's an idiot," Luna commented.

"Why do you say that?" William asked.

"Lockhart has a pesky fly in his head; he's long lost his intelligence."

The harassing fly is another creature Luna believes in; it's an invisible creature that floats into people's ears and messes up their minds.

Luna waved her arms around her head, as if trying to shoo away mosquitoes.

William laughed so hard he bent over; Luna was still as funny as ever.

Lovegood, on the other hand, was sullen and complained that Lockhart hadn't invited him, the famous editor-in-chief.

Lovegood never misses an opportunity to make money, after all, he has to work hard to support his daughter Luna.

Money is never enough!

Just then, Lockhart rushed in from the front.

He wore a long robe the same blue as forget-me-nots, which perfectly complemented his blue eyes. A pointed wizard's hat was playfully perched on his curly hair.

"Haha, William, long time no see."

Lockhart, as if they were old friends, patted William on the shoulder affectionately.

In fact, the two had only met once, at the Merlin Medal award ceremony.

He did write a few letters; William helped Dumbledore invite him to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

All the other invitations were from Lockhart to William's book launches, but he declined.

"You still came to my press conference?" Lockhart said excitedly.

"No, I just brought my family to buy books," William said with a polite smile.

"Books...my books? I can give you a few sets...it only takes a few minutes."

"William, everyone will love to see two Merlin Medal recipients standing together," Lockhart invited again.

A short, grumpy man holding a large black camera jumped around him, trying to take a picture together.

William put his right hand behind his back and gently waved his wand, and a puff of purple smoke came out of the camera.

He had read the reports about Lockhart and didn't want to be misrepresented by unscrupulous journalists.

"Oh, the camera suddenly malfunctioned?" the short man asked, checking the camera.

"What's going on? We're too late, the press conference is about to start." Lockhart frowned, and he suddenly saw Lovegood beside him.

Lovegood also carried a camera.

"Hey William, is this your friend, and also a journalist?" Lockhart asked.

"I'm the editor-in-chief of 'The Quibbler'," Lovegood said unhappily.

"Singing a Different Tune... I've never heard of it, but would you mind taking a few photos of me later? Of course, if your newspaper wants to use my photo on the cover, it will increase sales."

Lockhart assumed Lovegood was a friend of William, so he made a slight attempt to befriend him.

William couldn't help but laugh; he was really looking forward to seeing an article about Lockhart in The Quibbler.

Lovegood gave a haughty snort, leaving Luna behind, and then followed him with satisfaction.

Soon, another commotion broke out outside; it turned out that Malfoy and Mr. Weasley were fighting.

Whenever the two meet in Diagon Alley, they'll have sex, the kind with plenty of firepower.

Lockhart clapped enthusiastically beside him, then looked at Lovegood and the Daily Prophet reporter, and asked:

"Could you include the fight in the report too? Say that Malfoy and Weasley got into a passionate brawl in the street over buying my book!"

William didn't hear it because he had already rushed over to take sides.

Just like what Cedric led him to do back then.
