Chapter 221 William's Bag End

Chapter 221 William's Bag End

St Capole is a small village in Devon, England.

This is a remote village inhabited by both wizards and Muggles, far from any human habitation.

The village stretches westward through rolling hills, where a thorny wooden house sits on a wide, flat area.

The owner of the cabin was an old woman named Olena Redwin. She was somewhat aged, with a full head of silver hair and a short stature.

One day in July, she suddenly left.

Rumors circulated in the village that someone had given Olena a large sum of money to buy her house.

The new family who moved in didn't seem to like the old, dilapidated house. They quickly demolished the wooden house and replaced it with a beautiful three-story building with a huge balcony.

The ivy that originally covered the wooden house was not destroyed, but transplanted to the other side.

After the transplant, the ivy did not wither at all. Instead, it grew wildly at an incredible speed within a week, completely covering the shady side of the three-story building.

The owner of the house also diverted a stream from the mountain peak, forming a small river that surrounds the house.

The only exit is the beautiful peach wood bridge that connects the courtyard.

Soon, thick sycamore trees were transplanted from somewhere around the river, completely hiding the house in the shade and preventing others from spying on it.

But this place doesn't feel like a home because it lacks a master.

Today, this unbelievably beautiful house finally began to make noise.

A huge car stopped at the intersection.

It was a three-story bus, and the words "Knight Bus" were spelled out in gold letters on the windshield.

Soon, the car door opened, and three children got out: one boy and two girls, along with a fat orange cat that seemed to be carsick and was walking unsteadily.

Another head popped out from the bus. The person was wearing a ticket seller's uniform, looked about seventeen or eighteen years old, had large, protruding ears, and a few small pimples on their face.

"Stark, is this your home?" asked the ticket seller, Sampark.

"No, this is a classmate's house," William lied.

The wizarding world is not safe, as evidenced by his two years at Hogwarts, and William doesn't want strangers to know where he lives.

He plans to set up several safe houses, and this will be one of them.

"Okay, I think so too." Sampak was a bit of a chatterbox and liked to pry into other people's private lives. "I didn't see any luggage you brought."

Sampark was a Hogwarts student who had just graduated this year, and William never expected that he would become a ticket seller.

"Well then, goodbye, and welcome back on the Knight Bus—goodbye Stark, and goodbye to the two little girls," Sampark said cheerfully.

Driver Ern pressed the clutch and slammed the door shut; then another loud bang, and the car rumbled along a narrow country road, the trees on either side jumping aside to make way.

"Oh, I'm never taking the Knight Bus again," Anne complained.

She almost threw up in the car.

“But,” Hermione raised an eyebrow, “who was it that suggested taking a ride on the Knight Bus? And with tears in their eyes saying, ‘This is my lifelong request.’”

"You didn't object, you were even eager to try it. Don't lie, I can tell!"

The two started arguing.

William was caught in the middle, feeling a bit of a headache. The two of them bickered like this the whole way. Every time they met, it was as if they were sworn enemies.

What is the picture?

William ignored the two men and stood on the road, gazing into the distance.

From here, you can see the beautiful scenery of the village of Autri San Cachipol; from this vantage point, the village looks like a cluster of toy houses.

Dumbledore chose a really good location; at least the environment is comfortable.

He turned around, interrupting their argument, and loudly announced to Hermione and Anne:

"Alright! This is our new home. We'll be staying here for the next summer vacation."

William coughed again.

Hermione and Anne quickly stood side by side, smiling and clapping in unison, like troops awaiting inspection.

William nodded with satisfaction, adopted a leader's demeanor, and smiled, "Hello students, I'll just briefly mention three points."

The first small dot of the first point.

This is our new home. Nicole specially found an architect to design and plan it for me, and even consulted a fortune teller about the feng shui.

You two must cherish each other.

To be honest, I've long since stopped living in London. The air quality is terrible, the traffic is terrible, and you can't even see the stars at night.

This place is so beautiful, with its stunning mountains and clear waters. Seeing this scenery makes me want to compose a poem.

William was still gathering his emotions when the two girls ignored him and turned to run towards the peach wood bridge.

The two of them were still pulling at each other.

"I'll go in first!"

"I'll go first!"

"Me first!"

Hermione was very fast, and Anne couldn't keep up, so she had to grab her clothes.

However, she used too much force and almost tore Hermione's short-sleeved shirt off, revealing half of her fair shoulder and the thin bra strap.

Hermione's face was flushed, her eyes and cheeks almost dripping with tears, and she was so angry that she wanted to curse Anne.

The girl glanced back out of the corner of her eye, and William immediately looked at the river, pretending he hadn't seen anything.

Bobo Tea walked slowly, ignoring the three of them, and "steadily" stepped onto the wooden bridge first, only then did their dispute stop.

Two girls and a cat went to visit the house, while William stood on the bridge, watching the fish in the stream grow.

He took a handful of fish food from his ring and sprinkled it into the water, where the red koi tumbled and rolled.

Grow up quickly, so you can...eat me.

"Hey, William, what does this mean?" Hermione's voice came from the yard.

William crossed the wooden bridge and entered a large courtyard simply enclosed by a fence.

In the middle of the courtyard, there is a bright red "拆" (demolish) character written in English!

When Nicole had the renovations done, he wrote "Demolish" on the original wooden wall, and William kept that piece of wood as a memento.

In his previous life, when William was in an orphanage, he saw the word "demolish" sprayed on the wall of his neighbor's house and felt sorry for them because they had no place to live. He even wanted the pretty older sister next door to squeeze in with him.

Later, I learned that the character was pronounced... "fu" (富).

It's a pity... in the magical world, the word "demolition" is worthless, and this little house didn't even cost much Galleon.

William began inspecting the plants in the yard.

The courtyard was very spacious, with all sorts of exotic plants growing along the path. To the left was a tall persimmon tree, and to the right was a thriving grapevine trellis. Below it was a pavilion with mistletoe crowns adorned with white beads.

Drogon and Rhaegal the owls were already perched on a branch, spying on them.

Hermione and Anne are still studying the character for "split" (拆), which they both dislike, finding it unlucky, and are preparing to change it to the name of the house.

William thought for a moment and then smiled and said, "Let's call it Bag End."

"What is Bag End?" Hermione asked, puzzled.

The Harry Potter world doesn't have Tolkien's Middle-earth stories, so they have no idea what Bag End is.

William cleared his throat and said softly, "A hobbit lives in a cave underground..."
