Chapter 22 Eagle-shaped Bronze Door Knob

William had no idea what happened next.

The Ravenclaw students, urged by Dean Professor Flitwick, quickly left this place of trouble.

If we stay any longer, it could very well escalate into a massive brawl within the academy, something that happens all the time.

The Ravenclaw lounge is located on a high tower on the west side of the castle.

Led by prefect Robert, everyone slowly made their way up the stairs in a dizzying little circle.

Finally, they came to a door.

There was no handle or keyhole on the door, only an old, smooth wooden board with a bronze door knocker shaped like an eagle.

The door knocker looked quite unique, at least quite old, but Hogwarts is full of artifacts, so it's not too surprising that they're a bit old.

Prefect Robert Hilliard knocked on the door, and the hawk opened its beak.

But instead of chirping, it asked in an extremely gentle voice, like that of Kana Hanazawa, "What is something essential to you, yet you cannot see it?"

William strongly suspects that the door knocker is also equipped with Gaode voice package.

Robert didn't answer, but turned around and smiled, saying, "Unlike other houses, we in Ravenclaw don't have hidden entrances to the common rooms."

Our common room door has only one enchanted bronze eagle-shaped knocker.

When you knock on the door, the eagle ring will ask you a question. If you answer correctly, you will be allowed to enter.

He proudly stated, "For nearly a thousand years, no one except Ravenclaw students has been able to pass through this simple barrier."

Some first-year students are afraid of Eagle Ring's questions, but don't worry.

Robert continued, "So, about that question from earlier, do you want to give it a try?"

Qiu was the first to step forward and answer, "Air."

Kana Hanazawa replied, "That makes sense."

As he spoke, the door was opened.

He knocked on the door.

No one spoke. Cho shoved William, who nearly bumped into Marietta Eckmore.

William glared at Cho and replied, "A cycle, with no beginning and no end."

Kana Hanazawa said gently, "You're so amazing!"

Robert closed the door again.

Which came first, the chicken egg or the duck egg?

William replied, "That depends on whether you raise chickens or ducks first."

Kana Hanazawa: "You're so strong!"

Snapped!

The door was closed again.

This game of closing and opening the door lasted for a full half hour, with Robert repeatedly closing and opening the door.

William wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he felt that the voice on the door knocker gradually changed from "Kana Hanazawa" to "Chiling Kurosawa," and finally even started to resemble the voice of "Qiao Biluo"!

The door knocker was probably in a worse mood than Professor Snape; it had never seen such a silly student!

Seeing Robert's enraptured expression, William figured he was simply there to listen to the voice pack.

This kid must be a voice enthusiast, right? He might even be a cross-dresser!

Everyone yawned as they walked into the common room.

The Ravenclaw common room is a large, round room with an airy decor, featuring elegant arched windows and blue and bronze silk hanging in the walls.

The domed ceiling was painted with stars, and the deep blue carpet below was also covered with stars. Tables, chairs, and bookshelves were placed on the floor, and a white marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw stood in a niche opposite the door.

The Ravenclaw sculpture is incredibly lifelike, with its sapphire blue pupils that seem to be deep in thought.

She wore a faint, teasing smile. Following her gaze, one saw a huge floor-to-ceiling window, through which lay utter darkness.

I don't mean to exaggerate, but this is where the wisest witches and wizards live, just like our founder, Rowena Ravenclaw.

We have a very special label: self-centeredness—some narrow-minded people might even call us eccentric.

But geniuses are usually out of step with ordinary people. Unlike some academies, we think you can wear whatever you like, believe whatever you want, and say whatever you want.

We don't dislike unconventional people; on the contrary, we admire them!

Everyone applauded, and also forgave Robert for what he had done at the door earlier.

Being a "chuunibyou" (a person with delusions of grandeur) is a characteristic of this age. Everyone feels that they are different from others, and after the prefect said that, everyone felt even more convinced that they were special.

Sometimes, a person's qualities are strengthened through this repeated emphasis, which in turn shapes the style of the entire college!

Guided by the prefects, the young wizards went into their respective rooms.

Bobo Tea sat proudly on the bed, dozing with its eyes half-closed. Not far from it were a rabbit, a toad, a mouse, and a yellow mini bear.

The four pets sat crouched under the bed, all with their eyes open, too afraid to sleep.

No one knows when, but Bobo Tea has already established itself as the number one pet in the dormitory world.

After everyone finished washing up and changing into their pajamas, they lay down to sleep.

Bobocha lay in William's arms as they gazed out the window.

From here, you can see the Black Lake reflecting the moonlight, as well as the dense Forbidden Forest.

William fell asleep quickly, and Bobocha snuggled into the blankets, curled up beside his hand, its tail wrapped around his arm, purring softly.

William had a dream: he dreamed that the door knocker turned into a monster with a human body and an eagle's head, making a voice that said "Sister Zhiling," trying to seduce him.

As William approached, the eagle's head opened its blood-red maw and swallowed him whole!
