A Certain Magical Hogwarts
Chapter 200 The Death of Harry Potter
Chapter 200 The Death of Harry Potter
The appearance of the Basilisk caused chaos throughout the Quidditch arena.
Professor Snape was pale. He suddenly stood up and ran against the flow of people toward the Slytherin stands.
He stood at the highest point of the stands, his gaze passing over the Basilisk's enormous body, straining to see towards the Gryffindor stands.
He looked around, but couldn't find Harry anywhere!
Snape was so angry he almost fainted. He wished he could find a few Gryffindor students and give them a good beating!
Professor Snape seemed to realize something, and looked toward the castle in horror. His hands were clenched so tightly they turned white, and his whole body trembled involuntarily.
Snape swallowed hard, grabbed Gemma Farley, the Slytherin prefect, by the shoulder, and urged her to organize the students to return to the house.
After saying that, Snape turned and jumped off the four- or five-meter-high stands.
Gemma Farley was so shocked she could hardly speak. She stammered, "The...the dean, he committed suicide!"
Fortunately, Farley was still rational; he didn't say, "You jump, I jump," and then jump down with the professor.
He only observed a moment of silence for the headmaster for two seconds before running off with tears in his eyes to organize the Slytherin students to return to the house.
Professor Snape certainly didn't commit suicide. Before landing, he used the Hogwarts Sky Ladder, stepping on his right foot with his left to ascend into the air...
Cough cough, he just used magic to slow down.
However, Snape was inexperienced and rolled several times on the ground before he regained his balance.
The professor, oblivious to the dust on his clothes, ran hastily toward the castle.
At this moment, the basilisk was still darting towards the Gryffindor stands.
Professor McGonagall reacted the fastest; she glanced at the green basilisk, and even earlier, instinctively looked away.
The lion cubs, however, were not so lucky.
After their eyes met those of the basilisk, blood flowed from their eyes, blurring their faces in moments, before they collapsed stiffly in their seats.
Screams erupted from the students, some huddled together, staring in horror at their dead classmate!
Professor McGonagall drew her wand and said in a trembling voice, "Loud voice!"
Her voice then echoed throughout the entire Quidditch arena.
"Everyone, do not look into the basilisk's eyes!"
At this moment, the basilisk emerged from its cave like a dragon, coiling its body and approaching Professor McGonagall, who was standing at the front.
Professor McGonagall lowered her eyelids, avoiding eye contact with the basilisk, and pointed her wand forward. "Obstacles ahead!"
Blue and white light shone out, forming an invisible wall a few meters away from Gryffindor.
The basilisk hissed, flicking its scarlet tongue, and its huge fangs spewed green venom that struck the magic barrier, creating a hissing, corrosive sound in the air.
Professor McGonagall was clearly taken aback for a moment, and the magical barrier in front of her suddenly shattered, turning into a ball of light.
The basilisk charged again.
William waved his wand, and another obstacle fell heavily in front of the basilisk.
He whistled and rode his Nimbus 2000 down from the sky at breakneck speed, as if he were about to crash to the ground.
Exclamations of surprise erupted from the crowd!
Professor McGonagall glanced up and immediately understood.
She leaped from the audience, transforming into a tabby cat in mid-air, her paws gripping the tip of the broom's tail tightly.
William abruptly stopped his dive, began to rise again, and began to spiral upwards.
—It was a feint by Lansky!
William leaped into the air, passing over the basilisk's enormous head, brandishing his wand in his right hand, and coldly said, "Eye-Burning Curse!"
The red light shone on the basilisk's face, but William didn't even check if he had hit it. He sped up to the limit and flew into the sky.
A deafening, agonizing roar echoed from the ground.
A strange song began to play.
Fox is finally here!
The giant python, enduring excruciating pain, squinted one bloodshot eye, coiled high above, constantly flicking its red tongue, confronting Fox!
Phoenix versus basilisk!
The phoenix is small in stature, but it is not afraid of this snake monster that is a full twenty meters long!
Enraged, the basilisk spewed even more potent venom. Its body rose again, and its head shot out, lunging at Fox.
Dumbledore appeared next to Fawkes without warning.
He landed gracefully, waving his wand, and a red light shot out like an arrow.
The magic struck the basilisk at its vital point, with the force of a raging flood, causing it to plummet backward and crash into the ground, creating a huge crater.
The impact caused visible ripples to spread around the area.
Fox spread its wings and flew high, pecking at the basilisk's eye and instantly crushing it.
A longsword appeared in Dumbledore's left hand, its hilt inlaid with rubies, making it look exceptionally beautiful.
Dumbledore walked unhurriedly, his long, flowing robes billowing as he headed straight for the Basilisk.
Fawkes flew to Dumbledore's shoulder, and with another step, he appeared on top of the Basilisk.
Dumbledore unleashed a torrent of magic, raised his hands, gripped his longsword, and thrust it down!
With a slight twist of his wrist, the basilisk's enormous, basket-like head fell off and rolled several times.
Green blood splattered all over the ground!
Dumbledore looked up at the arena, which was filled with sounds—footsteps, shouts… He remained expressionless, his voice echoing throughout the arena.
"All the teachers, with their students from their respective colleges, returned to the common room."
The deans of each college sent the injured students to the university hospital and compiled a list of the dead…
As soon as Dumbledore finished speaking, everyone seemed to have a leader to rely on and immediately began to act.
"Come on, William," McGonagall said softly, her thin lips trembling as if she were about to cry.
"Come with me... let's go to the school clinic for a checkup..."
"No," Dumbledore said firmly as he approached. "William must stay, Minerva, I need him!"
Dumbledore looked at William with a deep gaze, as if asking something.
William nodded almost imperceptibly.
They walked toward the castle, and just as they reached the entrance, Snape rushed out of it, carrying someone in his arms.
His face was pale and he looked terrified.
"Dumbledore... Potter!" he said. "Dumbledore... he's dead!"
The words were relayed, and the dark crowd that was pushing its way in spread the word in horror to those around them... Others shouted—screams echoed throughout the castle.
"Dead!"
"He's dead!"
"Harry Potter! Is dead!"
"The boy who survived...is dead!"
"Severus, let him go," Dumbledore said calmly.
But Snape clung tightly to Harry's body, his eyes blurred with tears, and he wept bitterly:
"Wake up! Look into my eyes..."
Dumbledore bent down and, with extraordinary strength for a thin old man, helped Snape to his feet.
Dumbledore looked at Harry lying on the ground, his face so horrible.
There was no kind smile, and the joyful sparkle was gone from the eyes behind the glasses.
Every wrinkle on that aged face carried a chilling rage.
William also lowered his eyelids and remained silent.
Because everything happened so suddenly, catching us completely off guard!
