A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 20 The Great Hero of Gryffindor

Chapter 20 The Great Hero of Gryffindor

Dumbledore's cough was quite effective; the Sorting Hat quickly straightened up and said:

"Difficult, very difficult. She seems very courageous, kind-hearted, and extremely talented with a strong thirst for knowledge. However, she's not very honest. Hufflepuff definitely won't do..."

Well, that's interesting... Where should I assign you?

William felt that this hat, like Ollivander's, should have been similar to everyone else's.

Just as the Sorting Hat was pondering, the little spider living on the hat, suspended by wires, hovered in front of William.

It was baring its teeth and claws, foaming at the mouth, and saying something incomprehensible.

William blew a breath of air out of boredom, and the spider swung on the swing, but the spider web did not break.

He reached out to flick the little thing away, but the Sorting Hat said, "I warn you you'd better not do that. This little guy is my good friend."

Its great-grandfather was an eight-eyed giant spider named Aragog.

"Aragog?" William frowned.

"What, you know him?"

"Yes, Hagrid mentioned it. He said it's a very gentle and kind magical creature, and he even wanted to take me along to groom my legs," William replied.

In fact, William had looked up information about this creature in the book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

It looks very dangerous.

But due to his blind trust in Hagrid and his naivety as a newcomer to the wizarding world, he simply believed that the book's author, Newt Scamander, was exaggerating.

Since it's an exaggeration, what is William afraid of, especially with Hagrid's protection?

He slightly bent his right index finger and flicked it hard on the abdomen of the eight-eyed spider. The spider silk didn't break, but with the huge force, the spider crashed into the mouth of the Sorting Hat.

The little spider whimpered pitifully and burrowed into the bouncy ball of yarn.

The Sorting Hat is furious!

It grinned maliciously, then suddenly exclaimed, "Ha! William, you're quite the joker, saying Professor Snape is like a greasy old bat!"

"..."

The entire hall was silent. Snape stared at William with a livid face, still clutching a lock of black hair in his hand, which he had just pulled out by pulling too hard.

Fred was secretly dismantling the Chocolate Frog when, with a shiver, the chocolate smashed directly onto the Niffler's head.

George looked at William with the same reverence one would show a warrior!

But the word "warrior" is often associated with death!

William was now so angry he wanted to kill someone. He was wrong, completely wrong.

The sorting cap shouldn't be put in dish soap; instead, you should pour 84 disinfectant directly into its mouth!

The Sorting Hat's scheme succeeded, and it lazily announced in a loud voice, "Ravenclaw!"

William didn't know how he got to the Ravenclaw table; he only remembered that it was a slightly cool night.

The stars shone overhead, the students smiled at him, he was bewildered, he was confused...

How did he, an ordinary first-year Ravenclaw wizard, suddenly become a great hero of Gryffindor?

William was completely baffled by his sister!

Cedric was even more desperate. Cho and William had both gone to Ravenclaw, and he now really wanted to ask what the transfer process was like.

After Julius Stewart was sorted into Slytherin, all the students were sorted into their respective houses. Professor McGonagall rolled up the parchment, picked up the Sorting Hat, and left.

As the Sorting Hat was leaving, it smugly gestured towards William.

Dumbledore stood up, looked at the students with a smile, and stretched out his arms to them.

It seemed that nothing made him happier than seeing his students gathered together.

"Welcome!" he said. "Welcome everyone to Hogwarts to start the new school year!"

"I only have two words to say to you," his deep voice echoed in the auditorium, "Eat!"

Suddenly, the empty plates around the room were magically filled with food.

Roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops, lamb chops, sausages, steak, boiled potatoes, baked potatoes, potato chips, Yorkshire pudding...

It certainly looks lavish, but to be honest, British food is just for fun. If you want a truly satisfying meal, you have to look to Chinese cuisine.

William poked at the baked sausage with onions and tomatoes in front of him with his fork, and for some reason he missed steamed lamb, steamed bear's paw, steamed deer tail, roast duck, roast chicken, roast goose...

Although he had never eaten any of these!

Qiu took a bite of the potato chunk on her fork and asked softly, "What just happened?"

William shook his head: "It's probably the Sorting Hat going through menopause."

"..."

Not far away, a witch with brown curly hair warned, "You'd better be careful; Professor Snape will definitely cause you trouble."

As she spoke, she glanced at Snape on the main stage. The professor was squinting, staring intently in the direction of Ravenclaw.

She shivered and quickly lowered her head.

Penelope Crivate is already a fourth-year student; inside information from such an experienced person is usually quite reliable.

In his previous life, William studied at a school near the orphanage for twelve years, from elementary to high school... Many new teachers who wanted to get firsthand information about the leaders would come to him.

Intelligence is, of course, tiered. Paying less money only gets you the most basic information, while paying more money gets you the information you need to know about the leader's preferences.

So, if the senior student says Snape will cause him trouble, then he definitely will.

That damn Sorting Hat! I'll give it a pot of Lao Gan Ma chili sauce every morning and evening, and then give it a salt bath!

The food at Hogwarts is alright; there aren't many culinary disasters, and the portions are generous and filling—you'll literally go in feeling stuffed and leave feeling stuffed.

After they finished their dessert, everything vanished. Dumbledore stood up, and the dining room fell silent once more.

"Now that everyone has eaten and drunk their fill, I'd like to say a few more words."

"At the beginning of the semester, I would like to point out a few things to everyone."

First-year students, please note: the forbidden forest near the castle is strictly off-limits to all students. Some of our older students should also remember this.

In Hogsmeade Village, students below the third grade are not allowed to enter.

Dumbledore's bright eyes swept over the Weasley brothers.

"Furthermore, Mr. Filch, the administrator, also asked me to remind everyone not to cast spells in the hallways during breaks, and especially not to use fire smoke bombs."

"Finally, please allow me to introduce our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher," Dumbledore said cheerfully.

"Professor Tywin!"

Next to Hagrid stood a tall and handsome wizard.

The wizard was in his early thirties, with flowing blond hair, bright pale green eyes, and a sharp, razor-sharp smile.

Snape stroked his greasy black hair, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes.

Dumbledore clapped, and everyone else clapped in welcome, especially the many little witches.

After the applause subsided, Dumbledore said happily, "Now, before everyone goes to bed, let's sing the school song together!"

All the teachers' smiles froze, especially Professor McGonagall's.

She tried to secretly use earplugs to listen, but was spotted by the sharp-eyed Dumbledore.

Dumbledore smiled slightly and flicked his wand. A long golden ribbon floated out of the wand and twisted and coiled like a snake above the high dining table, forming lines of text as easily as using karaoke.

He held the magic wand like a musician holding a conductor's baton.

"Everyone choose your favorite tune," Dumbledore said excitedly. "Ready, sing!"

Then all the teachers and students began to sing at the top of their lungs:

Hogwarts

Please teach us knowledge; whether we are balding old people or children who have hurt their knees, our minds can accept some interesting things.

Because our minds are empty right now.

Full of air,

Dead flies and trivial matters,

It taught us some valuable knowledge.

What we have forgotten

Give it back to us.

As long as you do your best,

Leave the rest to us.

We will study hard.

Until it turns into dung.
