A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 2 Only Children Make Choices

Chapter 2 Only Children Make Choices

At night, the living room was filled with a rich aroma.

Dinner was quite plentiful; the pies were coated in golden syrup and smeared with cream around them.

A large plate of fried cod with fried potatoes, the outermost layer evenly coated with almond slices, crispy and fragrant but not greasy.

At the end of dinner, William quickly explained what had happened that morning.

Father Roy sipped his black tea slowly, carefully reading the letter, without immediately offering any opinion.

But her mother, Lyanna, hesitated for a moment before gently reminding her:

"Honey, this is obviously a prank. You know, I received a letter from the Doctor when I was a kid. He invited me to visit TARDIS and, incidentally, save the world..."

Nine-year-old Anne raised her hand and exclaimed, "Anne also received a reply from Baker Street!"

The little girl sends five commission letters to Baker Street every week.

The staff member probably couldn't stand such an enthusiastic fan, so she wrote a tactful reply, saying that Holmes had gone to the Himalayas to study magic and asked her not to send any more letters for a while.

William was having a headache; he couldn't explain why this wasn't a prank.

As for magic, he is not yet able to freely unleash this power.

After a moment of silence, Father Roy put down the letter, looked up at his son, and said seriously, "William, your mother was right. There is no magic at all."

You know, after graduation, I hope you go to Eton College for secondary school and then to Oxford for university, not Hogwarts...

What Roy really wanted to say was that Hogwarts... just hearing the name made it sound like it wasn't a proper school.

The name Albus Dumbledore doesn't sound like a respectable person at all!

"Darling, why Oxford? I think Cambridge is better," said Lyanna, the mother, tilting her chin up in dissatisfaction.

"Hey, Lyanna, I know you're a professor at Cambridge, but... you know, Cambridge is just a preparatory school for Oxford."

The two then engaged in a "friendly" debate, leaving William completely bewildered.

This scene seems so familiar... Wait, didn't he also struggle with this when he was a child in his previous life, whether to go to Peking University or Tsinghua University!

William was so troubled by this that he tossed and turned for several sleepless nights.

"Annie, what are you doing?" William suddenly turned his gaze to the little girl.

Anne stood stiffly, the fork still hanging in mid-air.

It was obvious that she had just intended to feed the bacon from her plate to Boba.

"Annie, you're not allowed to feed Bobo tea anymore. It's already had dried fish. Eating too much will make it gain weight easily."

Biologists have proven that orange cats and fat orange cats are two different species, with the latter more accurately described as... the domain of pigs.

William will not allow his adorable Flerken to turn into an orange pig!

Anne said with a pitiful look, "The dried fish from Boba Tea were all stolen by the owl."

After the owl that was delivering the message was groped by Bobo Tea, William did not send it back to Hogwarts immediately for safety reasons.

But... the boy frowned.

The owl was lying on the ground, crawling forward with its wings and two claws, looking like it was seriously injured... How come it's tearing bacon with such force now?

Is he definitely injured?

Seemingly sensing William's gaze, the owl stared with its big, innocent eyes, gently turned its head, and then loosened its grip, causing the bacon to fall into the cat's bowl.

It then lay down on the ground and convulsed, appearing to be partially paralyzed.

"..."

William rolled his eyes. This guy actually pretended to be sick so he wouldn't have to go back to Hogwarts to deliver his acceptance letter!

Bobo Tea squatted on the sofa, glanced disdainfully at the owl that was still acting cute, shook its whiskers, and looked very aloof.

At this point, William's parents had moved from discussing the merits of universities to international disputes, and now they were jumping to Charles, wondering how many more years he would remain the heir to the throne!

In the end, the two reached a consensus: he was unlikely to outlive the Queen!

William nodded in approval. The Queen was a finalist, and her only opponent was that old man.

……

……

The owl shamelessly mooched meals for two days, enduring countless glares from Bobo Tea, and finally left reluctantly with William's letter.

Before leaving, he also took two bags of dried fish with him.

This infuriated Boba Tea.

Although this owl liked to feign illness, it still quickly brought back a reply. However, before leaving, it also took one of Bobo Tea's favorite cat toys.

As a Muggle family, the school will send a teacher to visit their home in two days. Clearly, Hogwarts is already used to the distrust of Muggle parents.

Not every parent is so careless as to entrust their eleven-year-old child to a school of unknown origin.

Especially since the other party also touted itself as a magic school.

This is equivalent to encountering a charlatan in China one day who claims to be Han Li, a former disciple of the Qingyun Sect, and says that your son has extraordinary talent and is a once-in-a-century genius, and wants to take him to Yuzhang Academy for further study... Such a person would most likely be beaten so badly that even his own mother wouldn't recognize him.

However, the teachers at Hogwarts were not very punctual. Although they had agreed to arrive at nine o'clock, they still hadn't seen anyone by the afternoon.

"It's definitely a scam!" Roy, the father, said, sitting on the sofa.

As a dentist, he is very punctual.

Ding Dong!

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Annie, who was dozing off while holding her bubble tea, suddenly sat up straight on the sofa with a start.

The orange kitten that was curled up on the girl's stomach was thrown away by the impact.

A few seconds later, a piercing scream came from the other side of the carpet.

"Meow meow meow..."

Now, I'm finally awake.

Anne ran to the gate, eagerly turned the doorknob, and finally saw the wizard she had been talking about for days…

look up,

Looking up again,

Back again… …

"Wow!" Anne exclaimed.

A tall figure almost completely blocked the entrance.

The man was wearing a furry brown suit without a tie. He lowered his head, revealing a face covered in a thick, tangled beard, but his eyes, like black beetles, gleamed beneath his hair.

Compared to his thick beard, the giant's hair was relatively smooth... Of course, this was only relative; he seemed to have used a lot of machine lubricant or something similar to try to comb it into a ponytail, which looked extremely bizarre.

To be honest, William was terrified.

This wasn't the wizard he imagined. His image of a wizard was, at the very least, yellow rubber boots and capri pants…

Hagrid... is more like a giant than a wizard.

In fact, William didn't know much about the Harry Potter world; he only remembered the names of the Harry Potter trio, Voldemort, and Dumbledore.

As for the plot, I can't remember it at all.

If he were to travel to the Naruto or Marvel universe, he might be able to use his prophetic abilities to make some preparations and avoid many dangers in advance, but that would be completely impossible in the Harry Potter world.

After all, he knew absolutely nothing about the plot!

So, you're not going to Hogwarts?

Don't be ridiculous, who can resist the allure of magic?

As for the more comfortable life in the scientific world... only children make choices, William says he wants it all!
