Chapter 12 A Busy Summer Vacation

In a secondhand shop filled with broken wands, wobbly copper scales, and old cloaks stained with medicine, the group found Percy Weasley.

He was engrossed in reading a thick book.

"Dad, what's wrong?" Percy asked in a panic.

He was so engrossed in watching that he didn't know what was happening outside.

Fred spoke first: "We robbed Gringotts."

George continued, "He also fought with the fire dragon guarding the private vault and was almost killed by that Ukrainian iron-bellied beast."

"Don't listen to them!" Mrs. Weasley glared at the brothers, then said gently, "Dear Percy, have you chosen your textbooks yet?"

"Hmm." Percy nodded, reluctantly putting down the book in his hand and walking towards the sales clerk.

William noticed that the book he was reading was titled "How to Be a Prefect".

On the bookshelf, there was also a row of books, such as: "How a Prefect Gains Power," "How to Become the Student Council President," "How to Enter the Ministry of Magic," and "How to Become the Minister of Magic"...

On the cover, in large, gilded lettering, it reads: "Want to succeed? Want to have power? Then come on! I'll teach you how to reach the pinnacle of life and marry a beautiful, wealthy woman."

Below that was a line of smaller print listing the names of several important officials in the Ministry of Magic, such as Ludo Bagman and Dolores Umbridge…

This is a book that teaches wizards how to succeed, and it's also part of a series.

Most importantly, the price isn't low either, costing a full thirty Galleons. Keep in mind, a copy of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" costs only two Galleons.

William had reason to suspect that this was a scheme by certain people in the Ministry of Magic to make money or launder it!

Seeing William staring at the books on the bookshelf, Fred whispered, "Percy is ambitious. He's already planned to become a prefect next year."

George winked and said, "Then comes the student council president."

"Finally, the Minister of Magic."

George covered his head, making an extremely exaggerated expression, and said, "Merlin's beard! What are we going to do? Our family is going to have a Minister of Magic!"

Charlie tapped the twins on the head and said, "Alright, if Percy hears this, he'll be upset again."

You guys need to practice really hard this summer. Quidditch trials start in second grade, and this is my last year in school. We have to win!

"You know, we suffered a crushing defeat against Slytherin last semester. Before the holidays, I was too afraid to speak to Professor McGonagall alone."

Charlie is the captain of the Quidditch team at Gryffindor. He showed exceptional talent in Quidditch at a very young age and was selected for the team by Professor McGonagall.

Cedric secretly told William that Charlie would likely join the Scottish Quidditch national team after graduation.

It seems Cedric also enjoys Quidditch.

After everyone finished shopping, they headed towards the Leaky Cauldron.

Walking down the street, Fred took Cedric's hand and asked him for his homework.

Cedric looked wary and asked, "You guys should have finished your homework a long time ago, right?"

"Hey bro, completion and accuracy are two different things," Fred explained. "You have no idea how much your answer is worth. Lee's willing to pay ten siscos."

Cedric was extremely surprised; he had worked incredibly hard to sell a repair tool and only earned ten cents in commission.

But he still politely declined.

This disappointed the twins a bit, but it didn't matter. They still had a Ravenclaw academic genius as a backup, at most they'd just sell him for a lower price.

The group returned to the Leaky Cauldron, where the Weasleys would use the cauldron's fireplace to use Floo Powder to return to the Burrow.

Cedric would follow them, and then return home from the Burrow.

Before parting, Cedric made plans for their next meeting, and Fred and the others invited William to visit the Burrow.

Mr. Weasley had intended to ask about Roy's car, but upon seeing Mrs. Weasley's expression, he immediately abandoned the idea.

As Floo Powder was scattered, the group gradually disappeared into the fireplace.

Hagrid did not leave; he would stay at the Leaky Cauldron for a while until he had completely finished his work of welcoming new students.

William never saw the furry three-headed dog; the Greek man had suddenly demanded a price increase, which infuriated Hagrid.

Judging from his expression, he'll probably buy it no matter the price.

This is a necessity for Haiger!

Roy's face flushed. The magical wine had been infused with many potions, making it taste richer than the Muggle wine.

Under Tom's persuasion, he bought a large amount of alcohol and took William and Boba Tea home.

Accompanying them was a grey wood owl.

This owl is entirely blackish-brown, with brownish-white outer webs on its outer wing coverts, forming a prominent brownish-white wing patch. It has fine stripes and insect-like spots on its chest, making it look extremely majestic.

William did not intend to take it to Hogwarts.

The acceptance letter clearly states that a junior wizard can only bring one pet.

William was going to bring Boba Tea to school, and he had no intention of breaking school rules as soon as he entered the school.

Moreover, according to Hagrid, there are plenty of owls in the school that can be used for free, such as—Millia, the one who likes to pretend to be sick and steals dried fish.

Actually, William still felt it was very inconvenient.

Communication equipment in this era was already quite primitive, and Hogwarts couldn't use technological products.

The owl will be kept at home for William's parents to use to contact him.

William had no choice but to release Drogon.

This summer vacation is destined to be long and fulfilling.

Magic is an extremely sophisticated and complete system with a whole set of operating methods, completely different from the disciplines William was familiar with in his previous life.

Precise movements, clear pronunciation, and a lot of repetitive mechanical practice... allowed him to learn many spells that junior wizards could learn.

William had only ever experienced this kind of madness during his senior year of high school in his previous life.

William enjoys this pace of life.

If he encountered something he didn't know, he would write to Cedric for advice.

As a genius and the best young wizard in his grade, Cedric was able to answer many of William's questions.

However, Cedric had only been enrolled for a year, and there were many things that even he couldn't answer.

In such situations, William would turn to Dumbledore for help.

This sounds like madness. Dumbledore, as a headmaster, is so busy, how could he have time to care about a young wizard who hasn't even enrolled yet?

But this impossibility actually happened.

This was all thanks to Anne; every time she wrote to Dumbledore, the old man would reply quickly.

So William would often attach a blank sheet of paper to the back of Anne's letters and write down his questions.

When Dumbledore replied to Anne's letters, he would also offer his own opinions.

Finally, August 31st arrived, and William would be boarding the Hogwarts train the next day.

That night, he hadn't dreamed in a long time, but he had a dream again.

This time, he didn't dream about the scratch-off lottery ticket, but about Diagon Alley, Ollivander, Cedric, the twin brothers, and the Malfoy boy.

At the end of the dream, William is holding Hagrid's three-headed dog.

The three-headed dog had the heads of a husky, a fire dragon, and a boob tea. The husky had a renovation plan for 200,000 yuan in its mouth and had demolished William's room.
