A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 103 The Order of Merlin, First Class

Chapter 103 Order of Merlin, Second Class

For Muggle families, sending an eleven-year-old to a nonsensical magic school is a difficult decision.

Hermione, in particular, clearly possesses an exceptional memory far exceeding that of ordinary people, along with an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

In other words, she has exceptional learning ability and is a true academic star.

She has a bright future ahead of her; there's no need for her to attend an unknown magic school.

With Roy's help, Hermione had already been contacted by Westminster Royal Institution.

The Granger family is middle-class and well-off, but getting into top private schools requires more than just money, given the sheer number of applicants. These private high schools offer her the best possible chance for a bright future.

But as the saying goes, no one can resist the allure of magic.

The next day, Professor McGonagall visited their home and persuaded Hermione's parents in less than ten minutes, far more efficiently than Hagrid.

Hermione became a regular at the Stark household, since William was also a wizard, and a wizarding genius at that.

Hermione, much like William did last year, began to absorb magical knowledge like a sponge.

She demonstrated her exceptional memory, especially after taking the brain-boosting potion brewed by William. In just four days, she memorized the entire book, "A Thousand Miraculous Herbs and Mushrooms."

This efficiency left William speechless.

But William also noticed a problem: Hermione preferred memorizing to applying. She spent too much time memorizing, seemingly believing that memorizing all the knowledge would automatically teach her magic.

However, William soon forgot about Hermione and received an invitation at the end of July.

It was a pale yellow letter with a wax seal and an exquisite silver W engraved on it.

He took out the letter and began to read it.

Chief Wizard of Wizengamor: Albus Dumbledore (Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, President of the International Confederation of Wizarding, President of the Wizarding Association, First Class Wizard of the Order of Merlin).

Dear Mr. Stark, we are pleased to inform you that you have been awarded the Order of Merlin, Second Class. Please come to Merlin Cottage outside Salisbury on July 31 to collect the medal.

Wizengamo enclosed the required clothing, requests, and a door key.

Chief Magician

Sincerely, Albus Dumbledore

"It's finally here. Before summer vacation, the Daily Prophet said that William would receive the Order of Merlin, Second Class."

Lyanna read the letter excitedly several times, while Roy, holding a map of England, tried to find the exact location of Merlin's Cottage.

Hermione sat on the sofa, opened a thick book, and quickly found the entry for the Order of Merlin.

She read aloud: "The Order of Merlin is an organization founded in the Middle Ages by the great wizard Merlin."

Merlin believed that wizards should coexist peacefully with Muggles, so the Order of the Jazz established a rule prohibiting the use of magic against Muggles.

In honor of this great wizard, Wisengamour has been awarding medals under the name of the "Order of Merlin" since the 15th century.

"Is it that amazing?" Annie asked, her mouth full of the bloody lollipop.

"Of course!" She slammed the book shut, seemingly dissatisfied with Anne's attitude, and snorted, "That's equivalent to the Nobel Prize. William was only twelve years old. According to the book, he moved up the minimum age record for the Order of Merlin by ten years."

He is the youngest recipient of the Order of Merlin!

Hermione was extremely excited, as if she had received a medal.

Annie made a face and laughed, "What's it to you?"

"Of course it's relevant!" Hermione exclaimed angrily. "William is a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which is an honor for the school."

As a soon-to-be-enrolled witch, I'm naturally very happy, but you...

The girl glanced sideways, as haughty as a swan, and raised an eyebrow: "Of course it doesn't matter to someone who might not receive an acceptance letter."

Annie glared at the girl, and the two started fighting again.

Roy looked at the attachment at the bottom of the letter and said excitedly, "The letter says that each medal recipient can bring fourteen relatives. William, who are you planning to bring?"

"Fourteen? That's so few?" William frowned.

Hermione stopped paying attention to Anne, this "good-for-nothing" girl.

She got up and leaned against the back of the sofa, burying her head next to William. The movement was so big that her fluffy brown hair completely obscured her face.

William reached out and brushed her bangs aside. The girl held up a hardcover book several times thicker than her front teeth and excitedly explained, "According to the book, there wasn't such a number requirement at the beginning."

The main reason for this rule was the extraordinary case of Camillo, the recipient of the Order of Merlin, Third Class, in 1889, which led Wizengamo to establish such a rule.

When he attended the banquet, he brought 168 people, including his neighbors, relatives, and friends. This led to the rule that even medal recipients cannot invite more than fourteen family members.

"We need to discuss who to bring," Lyanna said. "This is a very important occasion."

The Order of Merlin is awarded to very few people and is the highest honor in the wizarding world.

William nodded and said, "I need seven spots."

The Cedric family had two spots, but the Qiu family went on vacation to the capital and won't be back for the time being.

George, Fred, and Mr. Weasley, along with Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall.

Roy thought for a moment and said, "Our family will take up three spots, and with Iris's family, that makes thirteen people..."

Hermione hesitated for a moment, clearly wanting to go but pretending to be magnanimous, and said, "No need! There's no need to save such a precious spot for us, Uncle Roy, you can give it to someone else."

William chuckled and teased, "Alright then."

The girl clearly hoped William would reply that he definitely wanted to go, but she couldn't bring herself to change her mind, so she could only lower her head miserably and continue flipping through her thick book.

Lyanna playfully punched William, then patted Hermione's messy hair, and laughed, "Don't listen to William. Even if he doesn't go, you all have to go."

"There's one spot left. Who should we give it to?" Roy asked. "How about Hagrid?"

William shook his head. "The banquet is on July 31st. He went to pick up Harry Potter that day."

"Then who should we give it to?" Lyanna asked.

William thought of Professor Snape, but he certainly wouldn't go; giving him a spot would be a complete waste.

William thought for a moment and then smiled and said, "Then let's give you Boba Tea."

Bobo Tea was sticking its butt out, secretly eating dried fish. It glanced at everyone with a puzzled look, as if someone had just called it.

It meowed once, then lowered its head and continued eating its snacks.

William will be the first wizard to bring a cat to the party!
