Chapter 10 The Great Battle of Diagon Alley

Chapter 10 The Great Battle of Diagon Alley

As it turns out, the desire to watch a spectacle is a universal human trait, whether in the East or the West, whether among Muggles or wizards.

The entire street was blocked by onlookers, and you couldn't even see where the people fighting were; you could only faintly hear the noise.

If you didn't know better, you'd think it was a celebrity meet-and-greet.

William also saw several reporters floating in the air on broomsticks, hurriedly turning on their cameras and shouting, "Why don't you guys start fighting already!"

Sure enough, Western journalists ran fast and flew fast!

William and Cedric were both short, so they easily squeezed through the gaps in the crowd.

In the middle of the street, two groups of people are facing off.

Light golden hair shimmering with the afterglow of the setting sun vs. dazzlingly bright red hair.

However, there are clearly more redheads.

The man standing at the front was tall and thin, wearing glasses, with thinning red hair and a bald patch on top.

Behind the man stood a boy: the boy had a broad face covered with freckles, which made it look almost brownish-black.

He rolled up his old wizard's robe, revealing his muscular arms, which looked like the result of years of training, or at least weightlifting.

The boy, Charlie Weasley, had just appeared to be about to hit someone, but his father grabbed him by the collar and stopped him.

Behind them were two children about the same age as William, with the same striking red hair and freckles, and most remarkably, they looked exactly alike.

These are twins!

Each of the twins was holding a toy that resembled a pistol.

The group with light blonde hair was much smaller, consisting of only two people: a middle-aged man and his son, who was about ten years old.

Although the number of people was small, their aura was surprisingly strong, or rather, even more domineering.

The father and son both raised their chins arrogantly, their eyes filled with disdain. Anyone who didn't know better would think that the entire street belonged to their family!

The man standing at the very front, with his light gold hair, held a magic wand in his left hand. The wand was decorated with emerald-cut diamonds, which were enormous, like pigeon eggs.

He patted his elegant robe, his cold, grey-blue eyes fixed on the red-haired man.

"Oh dear—Arthur Weasley, your son is not very well-mannered; he almost soiled my robes."

This fabric was bought in France; I seriously doubt you have the financial means to compensate for it.

Lucius's enormous diamond ring gleamed in the setting sun as he glanced disdainfully at the wand in Charlie's hand.

The boy's wand was very old and worn, with some parts peeling off, and unicorn fur sticking out of one end.

"Tsk tsk, how pathetic." Lucius dragged out his annoying tone and mocked, "Weasley, you don't even have enough money to buy your son a new wand... It seems the Ministry of Magic's salary isn't enough to support your whole family."

"This is none of your business, Lucius Malfoy," Arthur said coldly. "You should be thinking about how to deal with Alastor; he'd love to have a heart-to-heart talk with you."

Mentioning Mad-Eyes made Lucius blush like a rooster being choked; a hint of red appeared on his pale face.

"Hmph, don't worry about it. I'll deal with him sooner or later! As for you, you'd better hurry to a secondhand store and look for some old textbooks. If you're too late, they might be gone!"

Lucius turned his gaze to Charlie and the twins, and said dismissively, "Isn't that right? The Weasleys, who reproduce as fast as mud pigs..."

Lucius was attacked before he could finish speaking. It wasn't Arthur who attacked him, but the two twins.

The toy guns in their hands were shooting out some kind of milky white, sticky, unidentified liquid.

The liquid didn't hit Lucius's expensive robes; it shot directly onto his face.

Enraged, Lucius picked up his wand and smashed the end studded with a pigeon's egg down on Arthur's head.

A large bump immediately appeared on Arthur's head, but he was not to be outdone and threw a beautiful right hook straight up.

Lucius used his signature move of repeatedly jumping around in an attempt to tactically dodge.

But all that fancy stuff was useless; Arthur punched him squarely in the nose.

Large amounts of blood gushed out, and his wand flew out, rolling on the ground.

William had always doubted the authenticity of that pigeon egg, but now he could proudly announce that it was real!

Ignoring the blood from his nose, Lucius lunged forward, shouting, "Whoever dares to steal my Star of Lionrock, the Malfoy family swears to kill him!"

Arthur is clearly a seasoned fighter; he has an excellent grasp of the situation.

He kicked Lucius in the butt, causing the latter to perform a backside-down, "Wild Goose Descending on the Sand" move.

But Lucius was no pushover either. Before he fell, he used the Quidditch defensive technique that had been lost for a hundred years—the Scorpion Tail.

He quickly sprang forward, bringing his feet together, and tripped Arthur, sending him flying as well.

Arthur then slammed into Lucius, who let out a painful "howl," but it quickly turned into a muffled "groan."

Arthur grabbed Lucius by the neck to prevent him from reaching for the wand.

But Lucius was still desperately reaching for his wand... In reality, he just wanted to get his pigeon egg!

Lucius seemed to be surging with boundless power, and he actually dragged Arthur forward, roaring, "You're choking me, aren't you?! You're choking me?!"

Two old men,

In the middle of Diagon Alley

In a man's way,

Frenzied touching, rubbing, and screaming

To the death or no one...

In an instant, cheers and shouts of encouragement filled the air, and the onlookers around were chanting various slogans of support.

"Alright, go ahead and hit him like that!"

"Hey, you redhead, what's with the monkey stealing peaches while you're fighting? Hey, have you even eaten? Put some effort into it!"

The most excited were the dedicated reporters, who carried their cameras and snapped photos like crazy, preparing to publish them in tomorrow's Daily Prophet.

William and Cedric moved forward along with the flow of people.

Cedric was extremely agitated. William glanced at him and asked, "What, you know him?"

"Yes," Cedric nodded. "The red-haired twins are the Weasley brothers; they're my good friends. Mr. Weasley is my father's colleague."

"What are we talking about? Let's go up and help," William said matter-of-factly.

"Huh?" Cedric was a little confused by William's train of thought. "Are you sure it's about helping to fight, and not just breaking it up?"

Cedric, being a good boy, had never been in a fight before.

"Break up the fight?" William suddenly realized, giving a thumbs up: "Right, right, that guy with light blond hair looks tough to deal with... We'll take sides and secretly do something underhanded, so he won't be able to find us afterward."

"You're something else, Cedric."

"..." Cedric felt that this was not what he meant!

"That brat actually tried to ambush us! Shameless!" William shouted.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the light blond boy preparing to smash the glass bottle in his hand.

A glass bottle half-filled with chilled cola... Goodness, what would happen if that hit your head?

William raised his arm, and a spell was cast.

This was also the first spell he cast in his wizarding career.

"Yugadimurleviosa".

well,

It's amazing.

William felt that same feeling again, just like he had in Ollivander's house.

He held the wand as if he held the whole world in his hands; the originally elusive magic seemed to be completely under his control, as docile as a lamb.

William knew the spell had succeeded, because intuition never fails.

Cedric was extremely surprised.

This spell wasn't difficult, but it was something that young wizards would only learn two months after starting school, and William had only been using a wand for a short time, yet he succeeded on his first try.

But William was extremely embarrassed.

He succeeded in casting the spell, but missed. A beam of light flashed and struck the large chunk of ice cream in Draco's right hand.

The ice cream floated up, and with a "smack," it smeared the whole thing onto Draco's face!

William: "..."

Cedric: "..."

The Weasley brothers: "Beautiful!"
