Chapter 40 Dragon Egg
Chapter 40 Dragon Egg
"What is Hagrid?" Inside the house, the perfectly reasonable Gryffindor trio appeared.
Owen could tell it must be incredibly hot inside without even entering, because a thick layer of fog had formed on the windows. If he hadn't been constantly clearing the fog with magic, he wouldn't have been able to see anything inside.
"Dragon eggs!" Hagrid exclaimed excitedly, pointing to the bubbling pot.
"Dragon egg?" the three little ones exclaimed in unison.
The expressions on their faces varied; Harry and Ron were excited, while Hermione looked worried.
"Where did you get this dragon egg? I heard the Ministry of Magic forbids private breeding of such dangerous magical creatures." With that, Hermione began reciting word for word the legal provisions of the Department of Magical Creatures regarding dangerous magical creatures.
"Stop, stop, stop!" Ron covered his ears and quickly stopped him. "My head is about to explode."
"It's just a dragon egg, right? Nobody will know unless you tell on us."
Hermione immediately became unhappy upon hearing this. "So that's what you think of me, Ron Weasley?"
"Alright, don't worry, I can keep Norber in the Forbidden Forest. The forest is big enough, there won't be any problems. Maybe I should build him a home, a real dragon's home." As he spoke, Hagrid's eyes shone, and he became energetic.
It seemed that in the foreseeable future, he and his large family of dragon children and grandchildren would live happily together at Hogwarts.
What a wonderful future!
It would be even better if that wicked boy wasn't at Hogwarts either.
Thinking to himself, Hagrid turned his head away.
He met Irving's gaze, who looked disappointed.
An awkward silence filled the air.
It took Hagrid a full three seconds to realize that the jinx had arrived.
"It's you!" he shouted, and quickly used the blanket beside him to wrap the pot of boiling dragon eggs.
Then he rushed out of the hut first.
"I caught you this time! You've come to steal things from the Forbidden Forest again."
"You're slandering them!" Owen tilted his head and glanced at the troublemaking trio who had followed them. "If I were a bad guy, you wouldn't be seeing them."
"Hello, Harry." He smiled as he passed Hagrid.
Then his expression changed drastically, and he stared down at Harry, "Time to pay! Putter!"
"Hiding, hiding, hiding! You've been hiding for over a month, Mr. Pott, you're not trying to renege on your debt, are you?!"
"I...I didn't," Harry stammered, clearly terrified, and took a few steps back.
They've probably developed a psychological aversion to Irving by now.
That green light gave him nightmares for two weeks!
"He'll give you the money, but not now!" Hermione said sternly, leaping in front of Harry. Her fluffy hair almost touched Owen's nose.
"What money?" Hagrid approached at the sound of the voice, warily pulling Harry aside. "Harry, do you owe this brat money?"
"Uh—no, it's complicated, but I do owe him money, fifty Galleons," Harry said hesitantly, though he didn't actually have that many Galleons.
All his money was in Gringotts, and he only carried about thirty Galleons with him, plus the tutoring he had previously attended with Irving.
There wasn't much left at all.
He would have starved to death if Hogwarts hadn't provided meals.
Hearing this, Hagrid was taken aback, but said nothing more. Instead, he turned and went into his hut, returning a few seconds later with a rough blanket in his hands.
He tossed the blanket to Owen and said, "I don't know exactly how many unicorn hairs are here, but it's definitely more than fifty Galleons. Now take your blanket and get out of here."
He spoke coldly, showing no mercy whatsoever.
?
Wow! What a domineering CEO!
Or maybe he's a gold digger!
"I'll give you three million, leave my daughter."
At this moment, the male protagonist should have looked disdainful, waved his hand, and then a large group of men wearing Zhongshan suits walked in from outside.
At this moment, the wealthy man was suddenly shocked, his eyes widening as he exclaimed, "These are actually the heads of the four great families of Beijing: the Lin, Xiao, Wang, and Zhang families! What brings them here?"
Then, the four heads of the family knelt on one knee, clasped their hands in greeting, and exclaimed, "Greetings, Dragon King!"
The male lead gave a wicked smile, and the music reached its climax.

What a pity—what a pity!
Kyrie Irving is definitely not that kind of person. He's the kind of person who would happily accept the money, then happily ask for more, and finally happily send him a green light as he leaves!
"No! No!" Owen said, his eyes shining. "Do you have any other questions? Tell me, and I'll figure out a solution for you. Don't worry, it'll only cost a little money."
"No need." Hagrid surrounded the three Gryffindor boys, herding them like ducks towards his cabin.
"I saw the dragon egg." At this moment, Hagrid was like a walking Gringotts in Owen's eyes, and he wasn't going to let him leave so easily.
"You absolutely cannot raise them in the forbidden forest!" he said.
"Hmph, this is none of your business," Hagrid sneered, his steps not faltering at all.
"You've probably forgotten what Professor Dumbledore's most famous alchemy achievement is."
Suddenly, Owen spoke up quietly.
Upon hearing this, not only Hagrid, but also the three Gryffindor boys were taken aback.
Then I immediately remembered the description of Dumbledore on the wizard cards.
—Albus Dumbledore, the current headmaster of Hogwarts, is widely regarded as the greatest wizard of our time.
Dumbledore's well-known contributions include: defeating the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, discovering twelve uses for dragon's blood, and making significant contributions to alchemy with his partner Nicolas Flamel.
Professor Dumbledore was fond of chamber music and ten-pin rolls.
"We've discovered twelve uses for dragon blood." Owen smiled slightly and said, "Perhaps it won't be long before we discover a thirteenth use: dragon blood soup."
Hagrid's bearded face turned deathly pale, and he stopped in his tracks.
How could he have forgotten this?
Just as everyone fell silent, Hermione suddenly exclaimed, "Nicolas Flamel and Dumbledore are friends?"
"Of course, they've been friends since the 1920s, and that French brittle-boned wizard has given the headmaster a lot of help—helping him defeat his lover."
"Wait, I think I have a strong recollection of this name." Hermione frowned, looking as if she were racking her brains, reading data.
Unfortunately, perhaps due to a system lag, the little witch just couldn't remember.
"You don't even know Nicolas Flamel? The greatest alchemist, the only wizard to create the Philosopher's Stone. Professor Binns mentioned it. Miss Granger, were you sleeping through your History of Magic class too?" Owen stared at her teasingly, joking lazily.
"I—" Hermione was about to retort. She had taken notes in every class, and Professor Binns definitely hadn't talked about Nicolas Flamel's life. But just as she was about to speak, Hagrid, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, cried out repeatedly, "Nobody wants to know about the Philosopher's Stone! Nobody wants to know!"
My butt's killing me, why aren't we off work yet?!
