I, Hogwarts Second Time Around.

Chapter 29 The Heir of Gryffindor

Chapter 29 The Heir of Gryffindor

At noon, after finishing the drowsy history of magic.

The Hufflepuff trio strolled leisurely through the Great Hall, preparing to head for a walk outside the castle.

Before passing through the main hall, the group unconsciously glanced at the four enormous hourglasses representing the divisions of the college standing in front of the entrance.

They were embedded in the niches.

Looking in order, they are Slytherin (green), Ravenclaw (blue), Gryffindor (red), and Hufflepuff (yellow).

Unfortunately, apart from Hufflepuff's yellow gem still shining brightly, the other three houses no longer have any gems to see.

Gryffindor is in the worst situation; their hourglass of points has turned into a bottomless black.

It is estimated that the red gemstone will not rise from this hourglass again until next year.

The other two houses weren't necessarily much better, after all, it was only the first half of the new semester, and Quidditch, which was the real source of credits, wouldn't start until the next semester.

Even the landlords don't have much left over!

They were completely wiped out in one go.

"Tsk tsk. Look, we're number one now!" Irving stood proudly in front of the auditorium, pointing at the hourglass of points.

Justin, who was standing to the side, wanted to say a few words of advice, but there were quite a few upperclassmen from the other three colleges around, and he didn't want to get beaten up.

But just as he was about to speak, he suddenly froze.

He immediately recalled his conversation with Irving that morning.

He seemed to say at the time that Gryffindor had already gotten negative grades, and that they could definitely secure third place and even compete for second place this semester.

At the time, Irving seemed to retort to him, saying something like, "What's the point of fighting for second place? If you're going to win, win first place."

Wait a minute—could it be...?

In an instant, like a shooting star illuminating the night, Justin's eyes widened as he turned to look at Irving in disbelief.

Is it

Was all of this caused because of one careless remark I made?

Seeing that Justin, that blockhead, finally realized what was happening, Irving gave a wicked smile and then patted him on the shoulder meaningfully.

Young man, you still have a lot to learn!

Sometimes success doesn't come from your own progress, but simply from the fact that your competitors have all failed.

After the First War of the Schools, Hogwarts finally had a few days of peace.

But it only lasted a few days, not many, but it was a rare period of leisure.

Time marched forward step by step, and soon it was Halloween Eve.

"Hey! Did you hear? The heir to Gryffindor has appeared!"

"What?"

"Wardfa?"

Ever since that friendly exchange at the large Slytherin House event, a strange rumor has been circulating.

I've heard that a successor to Gryffindor has appeared!

This news was utterly absurd, but it was remembered by certain people with ulterior motives, such as certain pure-blood families.

They easily learned that Slytherin had a successor, and from this, they began to think that the existence of a Gryffindor successor didn't seem so hard to accept.

"Could it be Harry Potter?"

"Fool, how could that be? It's definitely Hermione Granger. She's the true heir to Gryffindor."

"I heard that Godric Gryffindor left a secret room in Hogwarts for his successor, and it contains the oldest magic."

"Really?"

"It's absolutely true; there are rumors like this everywhere lately."

"My God! She already defeated all of us by herself, and if she also gets her hands on the Gryffindor relics..."

"Have you heard? Gryffindor left a huge treasure to his heirs, including hundreds of thousands of Galleons alone."

"Merlin's beard, Gryffindor must be really rich!"

"And another thing, I heard that the heir of Gryffindor wants to kick all Slytherins out of Hogwarts."

"What? Such a good thing?" a senior Gryffindor wizard exclaimed, his eyes shining.

"Hey! Did you hear? Gryffindor has been resurrected!"

"??? You didn't go to Mrs. Pomfrey's to get your medicine today?"

"I'm not kidding, it's true. It happened in the Black Lake. I heard that giant squid was his Animagus!"

"Every night at 11 p.m., Gryffindors would emerge from the lake, revert to human form, stroll around the school grounds, and return to the lake before sunrise."

"Are you serious?"

"Shocking! The successor to Gryffindor is actually that person!"

"Secrets you don't know, about the secret rooms in the castle."

"When Slytherin fell into misery, Gryffindor was about to attack their house."

"Where's Merlin's beard? Where's Professor Dumbledore? Should we go check it out?" A Hufflepuff, who was just watching the drama unfold, asked excitedly.

"Mr. Sanchez, if you continue to spread these rumors, I will have to consider deducting Hufflepuff's college points."

Finally, on Halloween morning, Professor McGonagall caught up with the culprit behind it all, Owen, in the hallway.

Professor Cat gave him a stern warning, which startled Hannah and Justin, who were standing next to Owen, and they immediately lowered their heads.

In fact, they also helped with this matter.

"Ahem! Professor, what I said wasn't a lie!" Owen completely ignored him. "I clearly said that if Slytherin has an heir, then why wouldn't Gryffindor? And I think Harry is the heir to Gryffindor!"

"After all, the Potter family has lived in Godric's Hollow for generations, which is consistent with the name Gryffindor. Who knows how it ended up like this?"

"Alright, Mr. Sanchez, perhaps you should do some research into the history of magic. There has never been any successor or Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts," Professor Cat said with certainty, presumably to set the tone for the matter.

Otherwise, what if this kid found out that there really is a secret room left by Slytherin in the castle?

She strongly suspected he could pry open the floor tiles and would do anything to find it.

"Also, that giant squid wasn't an Animagus! I'm warning you, stop spreading such rumors." Teacher Nyan suddenly felt a little embarrassed when she mentioned this.

Because there were a few idiots in her college who actually went to the Black Lake at 11 p.m., intending to ambush the legendary Gryffindor.

As a result, their college's score dropped by more than ten points.

Moreover, when the college points were still positive, those troublemakers were somewhat more restrained.

Now—ha, seeing that they've already got negative scores anyway, and there's no hope for the House Cup this semester, this only makes them more unscrupulous, especially those two unlucky Weasley kids.

Yesterday, just yesterday.

Hagrid dragged them out of the Forbidden Forest.

Fortunately, they didn't go too far.

Professor McGonagall, who has been teaching for over thirty years, had never had such an idea before, and it was only today that it came to her.

She wanted to resign.

"Really? Teacher Meow! Are you sure it's not Animagus?" Owen's eyes lit up, and excited drool dripped from the corner of his mouth.

I can still slack off, but I won't be able to write novels while slacking off anymore!!! *crying*, the point of going to work is gone.
