Chapter 5 Konoha

We bid farewell to our hospitable people.

Uchiha Toshiro stepped out of the Uchiha compound and into Konoha Village.

Looking up, from left to right, are the enormous rock faces of the First, Second, and Third Hokage. Although their faces appear somewhat rigid, they have been gazing down at the village at the foot of the mountain and the people living there since the day they were sculpted.

"What a brilliant idea! To carve one's own face into a giant rock statue, gazing upon the village, and making the villagers gaze upon oneself. To inspire people's aspirations! To motivate generations of ninjas to strive towards the goal of protecting the village, protecting everyone, and protecting the Hokage."

Although the First Hokage was a bit silly in the TV series, his ideas were quite sound.

Strolling slowly along the main road of the village, looking at the bustling streets around him, Uchiha Toshiro began to daydream.

"Is this the Hokage Building?" It looks even uglier than in the anime TV series, with an overall oval shape. It's like an egg that's been stood up and the protruding parts at both ends have been cut off, and then a layer of red paint has been applied to the outside.

I made a comment about the Hokage Building's rather quirky aesthetic. I walked through the bustling streets, passing buildings such as Konoha Hospital, the Ninja Academy, and the Konoha Police Department headquarters.

The yakiniku Q is already available. But I don't see Ichiraku Ramen; is it not open yet...?

Uchiha Toshiro, who had been strolling around for over an hour, was wearing a fox-shaped mask at an angle on his head. He held a small paper bag in one hand and a string of three-colored dumplings in the other, which he was enjoying immensely.

"As expected of Konoha's famous three-colored dumplings, they taste really good..."

He hadn't planned to go shopping, but he remembered the two hundred taels of paper that Sister Meixiang had specially slipped into his pocket before he left, and the caring look in her eyes.

After some consideration, I decided to buy a toy to take back to put Mika's mind at ease. As for the three-colored dumplings, this was influenced by the original anime. I originally planned to just try them and be done with it, but they turned out to be quite delicious.

Just then, a small white figure darted out from the side.

"Be careful, Kakashi, don't bump into anyone..." Behind the white figure followed two people, a couple. Their eyes were fixed on the child in front, but the warning seemed a little too late.

With a muffled thud, the white-haired child crashed into someone and fell flat on his face. The paper bag containing the three-colored dumplings in Uchiha Toshiro's hand also fell to the ground.

"I'm sorry, are you alright?"

Following behind the child, the husband quickly picked up the paper bag from the ground. The wife then helped up the white-haired little boy who had just fallen on his bottom.

"Kakashi was too reckless just now. Did I hurt you?"

He checked the paper bag in his hand and found it wasn't damaged, so it wasn't a big problem. He handed it to Uchiha Toshiro and helped him up, asking apologetically.

"It's okay, I'm not hurt..."

"Judging from what he just called that white-haired brat Kakashi! Could this white-haired uncle be Sakumo Hatake, the White Fang of Konoha who only appeared twice in the TV series?"

Looking at the apologetic white-haired man before her, she saw a gentle-looking man with a rather imposing figure. His medium-length, messy white hair was tied in a small braid at the back of his head. Having removed his ninja combat uniform, his casual clothes gave him a remarkably mild appearance. It was hard to reconcile him with the infamous "White Fang" of the battlefield.

At this moment, the woman who was a step behind also helped up Kakashi Hatake, who had fallen to the ground.

"Kakashi! I told you not to run around in the streets. Now you've bumped into someone! How rude..."

While lecturing Kakashi, he also gave Uchiha Toshiro an apologetic smile.

"I'm fine, Auntie," she replied, taking the paper bag from Hatake Sakumo. At the same time, her mind was still replaying Hatake Sakumo's actions. He had abandoned his mission to save his comrades, incurring the village's condemnation. His friends and comrades' lack of understanding had ultimately led to his tragic suicide.

And then there's Kakashi's mother, who didn't appear in the original work. Did she die in a later mission, or did she commit suicide with Sakumo Hatake?

Whether it was a side effect of the fusion of two souls after the transmigration, or the fear and anxiety of arriving in another world for the first time, Toshiro had been unable to control the chaotic thoughts in his mind these past few days, and often drifted off into a daze.

Seeing that the child opposite him was indeed unharmed, and that he looked thoughtful after glancing at him.

"Do you know me?" Sakumo Hatake asked curiously, patting Toshiro Uchiha's head.

"I've heard from my clan that you're a hero of Konoha," Toshiro replied calmly without saying much more.

"I'm sorry, I was too reckless." At this moment, Kakashi reluctantly apologized to Toshiro under the urging of the woman beside him.

"It's okay, no need to apologize, but be careful next time you play in the street!" While saying this, he reached out and gave Kakashi, who was two years younger and much shorter than him, a gentle pat on the head. He'd been getting patted on the head by adults all the time these past few days, which was incredibly annoying. Hmm, I just happened to run into Kakashi, I have to pat him back o(∩_∩)o haha

"Is she a girl?" Toshiro asked Sakumo Hatake, feigning ignorance.

At this time, Kakashi had not yet put on his signature mask, nor did he have the dead fish eyes that would follow. He had a bit of a "Sunny Helper" vibe.

However, he resembles his mother more than his father. His features are quite delicate, with a touch of femininity. Especially the beauty mark at the corner of his mouth adds a unique charm. No wonder he'll wear a mask to cover it up later; based on his years of experience, he'll undoubtedly captivate countless young girls when he grows up.

"Uh, it's a boy." Sakumo Hatake scratched his head and gave an awkward laugh. Kakashi's mother, standing nearby, chuckled.

She was quite satisfied with her son's handsome appearance, and admiring his expression at that moment was one of her greatest joys as a mother!

Listening to the conversation between the black-haired man opposite him and his father, along with his mother's sneer and her amused gaze, the young boy named Hatake Kakashi felt his eyes twitching inexplicably.

A feeling of grief and indignation spread through his heart. He secretly made a decision: when he returned, he would persuade his father to prepare a mask for him.

He wanted to conceal his stunning good looks, so only he could admire them. At the same time, he didn't forget to give the guy opposite him a huge eye roll…

"Nice to meet you, please accept this as a gift!"

He took off the fox mask from his head and shoved it into Kakashi's hand, ignoring the latter's somewhat bewildered expression.

He turned around gracefully, waved goodbye, and left.

"I'm back!" After parting ways with the Hatake family, Toshiro didn't continue sightseeing. With his short legs, he returned to the family compound.

"Sister Meixiang, I brought you some three-colored dumplings."

"Ah, Toshiro is so thoughtful! You didn't forget your sister even when you went out shopping. Here's a reward for you!" With that, she picked up Toshiro and kissed him on the cheek.
