Chapter 48 Anti-Lohart Alliance

"Professor Flitwick, Professor Lockhart actually sent us to face a group of Cornish elves alone!"

"Professor Flitwick, look at my hair!"

"Professor Flitwick, you must help us!"

The eaglets quickly found Professor Flitwick, with Michael carrying the cage and Morty, whose hair had also been pulled, being particularly excited.

"Children, don't get agitated, don't get agitated." Professor Flitwick took a plate of small cakes from his drawer and distributed them to everyone, gently comforting them. "I already know what happened, and I will report it to Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall."

"Everyone knows how difficult it is to find a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. The school is unlikely to replace Lockhart for such a small matter, unless he really has a very serious problem."

“That’s difficult,” Stewart said. “If Lockhart’s secret were so easy to discover, Dumbledore couldn’t possibly not know.”

"Actually, I've got a clue about this. Want to hear it?" After thinking for a moment, Ike decided to give a little hint to prevent the eaglets from overthinking.

"What?" Michael asked immediately.

“We already know the truth about Lockhart, but it’s completely different from the image he portrays in his books.” Ike waved the book “Breaking Up with the Ghost” in his hand. “A wizard who can exorcise ghosts and suppress werewolves wouldn’t be overwhelmed by a bunch of Cornish elves.”

"You mean Lockhart fabricated it? He stole someone else's story!" Michael's eyes lit up with interest.

"Possibly, but it could also be something he overheard." Ike smiled. "There's no evidence, but we can't bring down a recipient of the Order of Merlin, Third Class."

"Then let's find the evidence!" Desperate to avenge his hair loss, Michael took this very seriously, slapping his hand and declaring, "We need to form an 'Anti-Lockhart Alliance' to expose his disguise as soon as possible!"

“We all want to do that.” Ike nodded, then pointed to the top of Michael’s head. “But you’d better go find Mrs. Pomfrey now; frankly, it’s a bit dazzling…”

"Damn it!" Michael quickly covered his head, cursed under his breath, and jogged off to find Madam Pomfrey. Anthony and Terry followed closely behind, heading straight for the school hospital on the second floor of the castle.

Ike and Stuart strolled leisurely toward the auditorium; lunchtime was fast approaching. They'd been quite active that morning and desperately needed to replenish their energy.

Mrs. Pomfrey's skills were reliable, but the hair growth potion provided by Professor Snape had a slight side effect: the hair grew a bit too fast, requiring a trim every half hour. As Michael's close roommate, Anthony took on the responsibility of cutting Michael's hair, and it wasn't until dinner time that Michael's hair stopped growing.

With no worries about the consequences, Michael acted quickly, first seeking out Roger. Roger, of course, had heard about his junior's ordeal in Defense Against the Dark Arts class and, expressing deep sympathy, readily accepted Michael's invitation, leading all the upperclassmen of Ravenclaw to join the "Anti-Lockhart Alliance." Meanwhile, Penelope, under Morty's tearful onslaught, also succumbed, and the Ravenclaw, which had been divided just yesterday, achieved unprecedented unity in a single day.

Professor Michael convened the first plenary meeting of the "Anti-Lockhart Alliance" in the common room, establishing the overall goal of finding evidence of Lockhart's fraud and expelling him from Hogwarts as soon as possible. The meeting saw a heated discussion on specific action plans, with the consensus being that the witches should maintain a good relationship with Lockhart to lower his guard, and the rest would be decided on a case-by-case basis.

This decision was unanimously praised by the witches, led by Penelope, who all expressed their determination to complete the mission. Roger added that the best wizards in Ravenclaw should cater to their preferences, providing cover while allowing them to act independently, and continue to proceed cautiously, taking things one step at a time.

The meeting was not without its challenges, with Morty expressing his opposition on several occasions. However, after receiving Roger's treasured honey tarts and a moving butterfly hair clip from Penelope, Morty became a staunch member of the "Anti-Lockhart Alliance."

With the destabilizing factors eliminated, the meeting was a complete success. To celebrate the founding of the society, President Michael decided to throw a party, and Vice President Roger specially sent someone to buy a lot of butterbeer from the Gryffindor twins, a sweet drink that was very popular with the young Hogwarts wizards.

The party in the common room went on until late at night, and many of the young eagles looked listless the next day. Fortunately, the second-year students didn't have classes in the morning, so they could sleep in. While Ike and the others were fast asleep, the "Anti-Lockhart Alliance" had already begun its operation.

Before the operation could show any results, Ravenclaw encountered a new crisis.

The saying goes, "Hearing is believing, seeing is believing."

In just one week, after all the young wizards had taken a Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Lockhart became a complete laughingstock.

Although he still maintains his glamorous attire every day, and many young witches defend him, their opinions are limited to "Lockhart is handsome and charming."

The young wizards generally agreed that "Professor Lockhart has no real skills."

But this led to a further decline in the hawks' status at Hogwarts. Of the last six Defense Against the Dark Arts professors, four were Ravenclaws. Especially in the last two years, first Quirrell and then Lockhart, their teaching was abysmal, leaving the hawks with no way to defend themselves.

This is utterly disheartening when other colleges are barely scoring over 200 points.

And this was accomplished even though Ike, the top scorer of the previous academic year, hadn't achieved anything.

Faced with Ravenclaw's terrifying nearly 100-point lead in points shortly after the start of the semester, the other houses could only remain silent.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Lochhart Alliance took the opportunity to expand its influence to other houses and quickly won the support of the vast majority of Hufflepuff and Gryffindor students. A small number of non-pure-blooded wizards from Slytherin also joined the alliance.

Unfortunately, even with the combined efforts of the vast majority of Hogwarts' people, they still couldn't find a single usable clue.
