Chapter 285 The Changing Battle Situation
Chapter 285 The Changing Battle Situation
Faced with an increasingly frenzied Greyback, Lupin remained composed, maintaining his original spellcasting rhythm. His calm demeanor infuriated Greyback, but it was merely a powerless rage.
He couldn't hurt Lupin at all; instead, he ended up with more wounds himself.
"I'm going to kill you!"
"I'll kill you!"
Lupin's expression remained unchanged. His solid magical skills—including the Obstruction Charm, Petrification Charm, and Disarming Charm—were on full display, maintaining a safe distance from Greyback. His occasional use of fire charms even yielded minor results.
He wasn't in a hurry at all, even though Graybuck was the culprit behind his current miserable fate.
Lupin's werewolf identity certainly made his life incredibly difficult, but it also forged his strong inner strength.
At the age of four, Greyback, because of his father's just choice to take revenge on him, broke into the house through the window and bit him, turning him into a werewolf. Every full moon night thereafter, he had to endure unimaginable pain, transforming into an inhuman beast, frantically tearing apart and biting everything he could see.
His parents tried everything they could, but to no avail.
This is also obvious; the werewolf curse has had no solution since the day they were born. Lupin and his parents both knew this.
Why bother with futile efforts?
It's just parents' love for their children...
Later, with Dumbledore's help, Lupin, who had lost faith in attending Hogwarts, finally came to Hogwarts. It was here that he met his lifelong friends: James Potter, Sirius Black, and his former friend Peter Pettigrew.
The "Raiders" changed Lupin, opening up his previously closed heart and making him understand the meaning of friendship.
He was undoubtedly happy during that time.
But this happiness did not last long.
Voldemort's rise brought fear and slaughter, casting a shadow over the wizarding world. For the sake of justice, Lupin and his friends stood by Dumbledore's side, joined the Order of the Phoenix, and fought on the front lines against Voldemort.
That dark time was bitter and dangerous, but Lupin felt no fear. He knew that what he was doing was righteous and a good thing. Even though his werewolf identity subjected him to much prejudice, misunderstanding, and suspicion.
But he didn't offer any explanation.
The war did change him, without him even realizing it. And later, the death of James Potter, and the stories of Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew, completely closed his heart off.
The truth came to light when Harry was in his third year of school...
Lupin has always given the impression of being aloof, as if he has always locked himself away, forever immersed in his own little world, but that is not who he is.
He is actually a passionate person who longs for a peaceful and harmonious life, but his past experiences have led him to choose to hide his passion and remain rational no matter what situation he faces.
Do you hate Graybuck?
hatred!
Is it possible to kill Greyback?
you can!
It's just unnecessary...
The battle intensified again. The werewolves remained frenzied, while the Order of the Phoenix seemed somewhat hesitant. Mundungus's body still lay alone on the ground; everyone had to conserve some strength to deal with any potential attacks.
When a wizard stronger than anyone else lurks in the shadows, preparing to launch a sneak attack, no one can ignore his threat.
This situation was undoubtedly disadvantageous for the Order of the Phoenix, but as those from the Ministry of Magic who had fallen at the start of the battle gradually awoke and joined the fight, the situation subtly began to change.
While their injuries might have hampered their offensive capabilities, they were still capable of contributing to the defense against the werewolves. With Ron, Ginny, Neville, and Luna left to assist, the Weasleys, Bill, Fleur, and Hermione were freed up. Especially after they joined forces with Moody, Sirius, and others, the arrogant werewolves were put at a significant disadvantage.
"Hahaha...that's it! Take them down!"
Sirius laughed heartily, casting spells incessantly, and soon, with the help of Moody and the others, they took down more than a dozen werewolves, forcing the group to huddle together in resistance. Gradually, even the werewolves that had attacked the carriage returned.
Thus, the balance of power shifted!
"Don't let your guard down! That treacherous brat hasn't shown up yet!"
Moody's Magic Eye darted around, constantly searching for Ike's location. His reminder calmed Sirius down, and he called to the Weasleys to help shield Harry from the middle.
Seeing that the situation was completely under their control, Lupin's offensive suddenly became fierce. He no longer used the less powerful spells like the Barrier Charm or the Petrify Charm, but instead used the Cutting Charm, the Shattering Charm, and the Explosion Charm, which posed a greater threat to Greyback.
This sudden change completely stunned Greyback. Before he could react, he was hit by two or three spells, and huge wounds appeared on his body, with blood gushing out as if it were free.
"what!"
Greyback screamed in agony, the pain only fueling his ferocity. But his momentum was quickly overwhelmed by Lupin's chilling spell, and he jumped out of the circle, covered in dust, and fled in the direction where the werewolves had gathered.
The temptation to kill his enemy still changed Lu Ping's calm mind. He unconsciously took two steps forward and his eyes revealed a fierce light.
Just then!
He saw Graybuck suddenly laugh!
He turned around abruptly, only to see a blinding red light; he had no time to react!
"Armor for protection!"
A voice rang out, and just as Lupin's face filled with despair, a massive silver shield suddenly appeared before him, firmly blocking the incoming red light. Before he could react, a figure darted past him, wand waving, and the golden light that filled the sky reappeared, colliding fiercely with the sneak attacker!
"boom!"
A violent explosion occurred, shaking the ground. Then came a terrified scream, and the two separated carriages slowly tilted to the side before crashing heavily to the ground.
"Bang!"
A flash of gold appeared in the dust, and Hermione, with her massive silver shield propelling her backward, was sent flying. Lupin reacted quickly, trying to catch her, but was knocked away himself. Had it not been for the intervention of Moody, Sirius, and others, he would likely have crashed into a pack of werewolves.
"How is it, Remus? Hermione?"
Moody shouted, his eyes fixed on them, but the demonic eye remained fixed on the thick smoke and dust.
"Cough cough... It's nothing..."
Lupin stood up, clutching his chest. A quick touch revealed several broken ribs. Before he could say anything, he suddenly felt the air grow colder and shivered.
I instinctively looked up and saw a dark, churning cloud rushing towards me.
The Dementors are here!
