Chapter 139 Gaunt's Old House
Chapter 139 Gaunt's Old House
The next day, Ike bid farewell to the Grangers.
He left the suitcase with Hermione, taking only 500 Galleons and his wand before departing.
They drove to the countryside again, found a hotel at random, and checked in. Ike never left his room again.
As the appointed time approached, Ike sat quietly on the sofa in the room, wand in hand, waiting patiently.
Suddenly, with a crisp sound, two figures, one tall and one short, appeared abruptly in front of Ike.
"Long time no see, Wormtail." Ike said expressionlessly, gently patting his wand.
"Little master, it's been a long time." Peter Pettigrew bowed to Ike.
"Little master?" Ike chuckled, then stood up and glanced at the house-elf beside him.
"Let's go, don't keep the teacher waiting too long."
"Please hold my hand, little master. It might feel uncomfortable the first time."
Ike didn't reply, but simply nodded and took Peter Pettigrew's hand. Peter, seeing this, also took the hand of the house-elf standing nearby.
With a piercing "smack," it felt as if Ike had been thrown into a washing machine and was being tossed around wildly, the surrounding air being intensely compressed as if it were going to crush him.
In what seemed like an instant, Ike felt his feet touch the ground again. He closed his eyes briefly to suppress the strong urge to vomit before taking in his surroundings.
It was just a very dilapidated house, nothing more.
"Master is upstairs," Peter Pettigrew whispered, leading Ike up the decaying stairs.
The creaking of the staircase seemed as if it would break at any moment, sounding particularly jarring in this dilapidated house.
Upon reaching the upper floor, one room's door was ajar, allowing light to filter through.
"Master, the little master has arrived." Peter the Pettigrew knocked on the door.
"Come in, little Ike."
Upon entering the room, one immediately sees a tall, handsome man cradling Voldemort curled up in his arms. A large snake lies coiled beside them, its eyes closed, seemingly asleep, but its tongue occasionally flicks out.
"Look at you, you've grown so big, I can't call you Little Ike anymore," Voldemort said slowly, his voice clearly weak.
"Teacher," Ike bowed respectfully, "you're back."
"Yes, I'm back, thanks to you," Voldemort said. "You were the one who sent Wormtail to find me, and only you could have done that."
"My servants possess far greater power than you, yet not one of them realized..."
"Owner……"
"Shut up, Wormtail!" the man holding Voldemort scolded, and Peter Pettigrew immediately lowered his head.
"Heh heh heh," Voldemort chuckled, patting the man's arm with his little hand. "Alright, Barty, that's enough..."
Come closer, let me take a good look at you.
Ike stepped forward, crouched down next to Voldemort, and tilted his head back so that Voldemort could see him more clearly.
"You are excellent, I've already heard from Wormtail..." Old Voldemort raised his hand and placed it on Ike's head, "You saved the great Dark Lord, you are the successor I approve of..."
"teacher……"
Just as Ike was about to say something, Comrade Old Fu interrupted him: "The Dark Lord will not forget those who are loyal to him, nor will he mistreat those who are loyal to him."
"Extend your left arm, Ike!"
"Master!" Little Barty exclaimed anxiously before Old Fu could finish speaking, "Your health..."
"I can handle this little thing, Barty," Old Voldemort patted Barty's arm again, then turned to Peter Pettigrew and said, "Wormtail, wand!"
"Owner……"
Ike rolled up his sleeves and offered his left arm, letting Old Fu touch it with the tip of his cane. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through him, but Ike endured it without even a change in expression.
Seeing this, Comrade Lao Fu chuckled again, and the tip of his staff began to emit a deep black light. Slowly, a skull appeared, and a python emerged from its mouth, coiling down.
"Remember its incantation, and the bones will reappear!" Old Fu's voice was barely audible, and he couldn't even hold his wand, which fell to the ground.
"I understand, teacher," Ike nodded.
"The rest of Little Barty will tell you, I..." Before he could finish speaking, Comrade Old Fu closed his eyes, no longer able to stay awake.
Little Barty carefully placed Old Voldemort in Peter Pettigrew's arms, glared at him fiercely, and then waved to Ike. Ike waited until Peter had settled Old Voldemort before following him out.
Stepping out of the dilapidated Gaunt mansion, one immediately sees Barty the Younger standing in the open space in front of the door, wand in hand.
"Pull out your wand," Barty said in a deep voice.
"No need." Ike shook his head, his expression silent.
Little Barty didn't reply, but with a wave of his hand, a green light shot towards Ekko.
"Snapped!"
Ike didn't move at all; the green light spread out directly in front of him.
"Excellent silent, wandless spell." Barty nodded, then lowered his wand. "No wonder my master sees you in such a different light."
"What did the teacher ask you to tell me?" Ike asked directly.
"Master needs you to learn a spell, the sooner the better," said Little Barty.
"Can."
"This is no simple magic, especially for a little wizard like you." Little Barty laughed, a laugh that sounded like mockery and a sneer.
"I don't think there's any magic that I can't learn."
"You have a maximum of three days to use Phantom Teleportation."
"Then what are we waiting for?"
"Don't rush, we still need to prepare," said Little Barty, as he waved his wand and many circles of the same size appeared on the ground.
One was right at Ekko's feet, while the rest were lined up one after another in the distance.
He took out several more bottles of potions, and with just a glance, Ike knew they were healing potions.
Judging from the bottle, it was one of the bottles he sold.
"Goal, determination, composure—remember these!" Little Barty said. "Focus your mind on your goal, make up your mind, think that you will succeed, then recite the incantation and turn around with composure."
"You can start trying now. Don't worry, I'm all ready."
Ike finally drew his wand, his eyes fixed on the nearest circle. Suddenly, he relaxed, and his wand moved slightly.
"Slap! Slap!"
With a piercing sound, Ike found himself in the circle he had aimed at.
However, he forgot about his left leg.
And the right ear.
"Healed as before!"
Little Barty's healing magic landed on Ike in time, and Ike summoned the limbs he had left behind, pieced them back together, and drank a potion. Apart from being a little pale, he was fine.
"Not bad, very few people can achieve this level on their first attempt, even though it's split up," said Little Barty.
"Shall we continue?"
"certainly……"
