Chapter 11 The Treasure Trove of the Common Room

Chapter 11 The Treasure Trove of the Common Room

For a typical young wizard, Transfiguration truly lives up to its reputation as the most complex and difficult magic. Apart from Ike, only Hermione managed to change a match, and even then, only one end became pointed.

This is still the genius who turned the entire Harry Potter series into Hermione and her two useless men.

Unfortunately, Ekko is overpowered.

What Ike was most satisfied with about the useless, notebook-like system was that once a spell was successfully cast, it would not fail the next time, and with continuous practice, the lower limit of the spell's success rate would also increase.

Unfortunately, even so, the level of Transfiguration increased very slowly. A month had passed, and it was still stuck at Lv1.

"Why doesn't this thing display experience points like other systems do?" Ike shoved the "Intermediate Transformation Guide" aside in frustration, cursing under his breath.

Only Ike remained in the empty dormitory; Stuart and Terry were nowhere to be found. Based on Ike's experience, they were either wandering around the castle or chatting with the Hufflepuff badgers in the Great Hall.

A month of contact had made the other hawks, except for Ike, very good friends. However, apart from being closer to Stuart and Terry, the others did not have a very good impression of Ike.

To outsiders, Ike was a very unsociable person. He was either in the library or on his way to the library every day, and he wouldn't participate in any activities unless Stewart and Terry dragged him away.

Just like when the Quidditch team was selecting new players, all the Hawks went except for Ike.

Even among Ravenclaw, known for their exceptional learning abilities, Ike is truly exceptional.

Moreover, as the possessor of Snape's gaze, even upperclassmen couldn't stand it.

That's right, the look that was originally used to scare Morag and other girls and threaten Stuart and Terry has actually been turned into a skill by the trashy notepad system!

Snape's gaze

(stare………)

Garbage system!

Ike arrived at the common lounge, walked to the sofa in the corner and sat down. Looking at the upperclassmen chatting in twos and threes, he couldn't help but rub his temples.

Over the past month, Ike hasn't made much progress because he's focused more on Transfiguration. Aside from gaining Lv2 in herb cultivation and processing and Lv1 in broom control, there haven't been any other changes.

More importantly, the Disillusionment Curse still hasn't been found.

Ike has practically rummaged through all the books on spells in the library, but there's not a trace of the Illusionary Charm. At most, there's a sentence or two explaining its effects, but no instructions on how to cast it!

Ike even suspected that the spell had to be found in the forbidden book section!

But without the Disillusionment Charm, how can I sneak into the forbidden book section?

Ekko doesn't have an invisibility cloak!

"Ike, why are you all alone here again?" Roger led the Quidditch players back and saw Ike in that familiar spot, so he scratched his head.

Ike's talent was obvious; even he couldn't master as many wandless spells as Ike. But at the same time, this reclusive little wizard was a real headache. Roger had noticed his growing isolation in the first year, and even Professor Flitwick knew about it.

As a responsible prefect, Roger naturally took on the important task of integrating Ike into the Ravenclaw family.

"Senior Davis, I was just thinking about something." Ike smiled slightly.

"Oh? What is it? Why don't you tell me? Maybe I can help a little?" Roger plopped down on the armrest of the sofa, pushing Ike aside.

"Okay." This kind of scene has happened many times in the past month, especially in the last two weeks, and Ike is starting to feel overwhelmed by Roger's enthusiasm.

"Well, I'm looking for a spell, but there aren't any in the library, which is very discouraging."

"A curse, huh?" Roger stroked his chin, feigning thought, then smiled and said, "I think I know what curse you're looking for. In fact, when I first learned about this curse, I searched for it for a long time in the library."

"So you know, Senior Davis?"

"Of course," Roger said confidently. "Remember Ravenclaw's famous quote?"

"Exceptional intelligence is the greatest wealth of mankind."

"That's right!" Roger clapped his hands. "There are indeed many books in the library, but Hogwarts doesn't only have books in the library."

Roger patted Ike on the shoulder and said slowly, "Many times, we overlook some obvious answers."

"What's most important to Ravenclaw? You're so smart, I think you'll understand."

Seeing Ike deep in thought, Roger simply smiled and left quietly. Ike, however, was pondering Roger's words.

"The answer is obvious..." She glanced at the bookshelf against the wall of the lounge. "Come to think of it, I haven't really looked at these books properly yet..."

Getting up from the sofa, Ike stood on the bookshelf beside him, scanning the titles layer by layer. The vast majority were miscellaneous books, and the rest were mostly fantasy novels like *Merlin*. After searching through all the bookshelves in the lounge, he finally discovered the hidden treasure.

"There are study notes! And manuscripts too!" Ike flipped open a notebook that looked like it was from the 1950s or 60s, and it was full of useful information.

Magical theories and conjectures, translations of ancient magical scripts, insights into transfiguration, potion-making, and even prank spells!

Ike had been wondering how harmless curses like "Front Tooth Stick," "Grinning Mouth," "Legs Stand Still," and "Bat Spirit Curse," which were widely circulated among young wizards, were learned. These things weren't recorded in the library books at all. It turned out that in addition to being passed down orally, they were also recorded here!

I imagine that similar things exist in other colleges as well.

What pleased Ike even more was that there really was a method for casting the Disillusionment Charm inside!

Ike flipped through another notebook belonging to a senior who had just graduated a few years ago, and sure enough, the spell was there too.

I flipped through more than ten notebooks, and every single one of them contained this spell!

"Damn it!" Ike was so angry at his own stupidity. Just as Roger had said, the answer was right there.

After putting the other notebooks back on the bookshelf, Ike picked up the notebook from the 1950s or 60s and carefully read the contents about the Disillusionment Charm.

The Disguise Charm isn't a particularly complex spell, and most students who have completed OWLs can learn it quickly. In fact, it's simply a camouflage spell that makes the person or object being disguised blend in with their surroundings, like a chameleon.

According to the notes, the Disillusionment Charm essentially uses magic to create a protective layer on the surface of a person or object, which refracts or reflects light to achieve concealment.

It is precisely because of the magical effect on the surface that if one is not skilled enough in the Disillusionment Spell, it can be detected by those who are sensitive to magic.

Of course, highly skilled users of the Disillusionment Spell can also achieve a level where they can stand right in front of others without being detected.

Ultimately, the difficulty of the Illusionary Body Curse lies not in casting the spell, but in controlling it.

Back in his dorm room, Ike pulled out his wand, aimed it at the quill on the table, and quickly drew a D in the air with the wand. The quill flickered a few times, but the flickering faded slightly.

"The flow of magic is a bit strange; it's indeed difficult to control." Ike adjusted his spell and cast it again, this time making the quill pen fade a bit more.

After repeating this process dozens of times, the quill pen finally disappeared. Then, a spell was cast on the thick book, "The History of Magic," and it vanished as well. When I reached out to touch it, I could clearly feel that the book was still there.

Suddenly, Ike felt dizzy and lightheaded, as if he had been starving for a long time.

"Is it consuming so much mana?" Clearly, this is a sign of excessive mana consumption.

Ike laboriously pulled a piece of chocolate from the drawer, ate it, and felt somewhat better after a while. Looking at the system again, he saw no sign of the Disillusionment Charm.

"It's definitely not a simple spell," Ike thought to himself. "Not only does it consume a lot of mana, but it's also difficult to control. Besides, it's just an inanimate object; I haven't even tried to see how it would work on a person."

"By the way, who owns this notebook? Do ordinary students who've passed the OWLs have this level of skill?" Ike thought about Roger, this fifth-grader, "He doesn't seem particularly impressive..."
