Chapter 961 Should You Consider Me?
Are you injured?
In the iridescent world, Thor was surprised to find that Froco was seriously injured and would not recover for several years.
Yes, I encountered a truly terrifying enemy. If he hadn't suddenly and inexplicably spared me, I would not just be severely injured, but dead, my soul utterly annihilated.
No wonder Thor suddenly received a lot of fate power from Floco yesterday. It turns out that Floco's fate really did change drastically, and he almost died.
"Your current strength is at least at the peak of the fourth tier. Who could possibly seriously injure you?"
[You don't know this person. He was a fifth-tier wizard a hundred years ago. Later, he left the wizarding world and seems to be doing well, but he hasn't advanced to the sixth tier yet.]
Thor slapped his forehead. "The wizarding world already had a sixth-tier corpse. Now there's a red worm that can reflect damage back to Star Eyes, and a powerful fifth-tier wizard has arrived. This world is getting more and more chaotic."
Char started to be pessimistic again, as he usually is.
[Lord Thor, shouldn't we consider leaving the Wizarding World with the Stargate Council? I feel like this place is about to be destroyed any second now. I live in constant fear, afraid that I'll wake up the next day to find that the end of the world has already come.]
Thor was on the platform of the iridescent world, looking up at the ever-changing colors of the deep space above him and the twisting threads entwined around his head.
"Actually, so many unexpected events might not be a bad thing. After all, we weren't very confident in defeating the Black Tide to begin with. With the addition of the Red Worm and a fifth-tier being with unclear motives, we might actually have more hope of defeating the Black Tide."
Thor was already considering whether he could use the Red Worms to fight against the Eye of the Abyss. If the Red Worms could consume the pollution caused by the sixth-tier corpses in the Eye of the Abyss, or if they could simply devour the corpses in the Abyss, could the world-ending crisis of the Black Tide pollution be completely resolved?
However, implementing this plan will require overcoming numerous difficulties.
First, it must be confirmed that the red worms can indeed counteract the effects of the Eye of the Abyss. Then, sufficiently powerful red worms must be cultivated and guided to the Eye of the Abyss.
The original plan was for Floco to work with the Radiant Clan Chief to "persuade" Speaker Alec to redirect the energy spent on escaping to the cultivation of Red Worms to fight the Abyss.
But now a powerful fifth-tier wizard has appeared and crippled Floco. Thor's plan to dissuade him has lost a key figure.
Without the cooperation of the Stargate Council, Nathor could only attempt to capture the Red Worm for his own research.
However, his abilities are ultimately limited. Moreover, he is currently researching a soul-fixing magic array to protect the wizard's spirit from contamination.
"Or perhaps we could use soul-binding magic as a bargaining chip, forcing Alec to stay and fight the Abyss under the influence of causality?"
After thinking for a while, Thor first told Flock to go back and rest, and told him that he would give him more of the power of fate to help him recover as soon as possible.
Thor then warned Char again, forbidding him from having wild thoughts, urging him to use the spirit candles sparingly, and to grow stronger as quickly as possible. The Upside-Down Tree possesses a unique ability to manipulate souls and can also control ash golems, which will become tangible combat power once Char becomes stronger.
Remotely controlled units are perfect for being used as cannon fodder.
But the premise is that Char cannot hold everyone back because of his personality.
Upon returning from the iridescent world, Thor opened his eyes to see the red worms coiled around the Stargazing Tower.
"How much impact can such a huge thing have on the Abyss?"
"Huh?" Agu, who was standing guard to the side, turned around, not understanding what Thor was talking about.
The two had arrived at the ravine near the observatory.
As night deepened, Agu lit a campfire.
The two did not deliberately conceal their whereabouts; when asked by the Stargate Council, they simply said they were researching red worms.
If Chief Norton cannot persuade Alec to stay, then Thor will have no choice but to trade a chance for cooperation by protecting the wizard's spiritual body.
Otherwise, relying on him would be too slow.
"Master, what should we do next?" Agu accompanied Thor around the observatory, but still didn't know what Thor was going to do.
"Let's wait for Chief Norton's reply first. I need to see the Stargate Council's decision. Besides, I can already sense some of Senior Byron's presence here. He might be imprisoned in the Stargazing Tower. It's just that the magical isolation here is too strong, and I still can't pinpoint his exact location."
"Once I figure out what the Stargate Council is thinking, we'll go in and talk to Speaker Ali."
At this point, Thor turned to look at the dark forest around him. "Or perhaps we could talk first?"
A dark figure jumped down from the tree and slowly approached.
Agu immediately stood up; he hadn't noticed anyone approaching.
Sol, however, gestured for Agu to sit down, saying, "We're acquaintances."
Isn't he just an acquaintance?
As the shadowy figure reached the edge of the forest, the hazy moonlight illuminated his long silver hair.
"Long time no see, my little brother, Master~"
Kismet approached and sat down next to Thor without any ceremony. He picked up a branch and poked at the fire, stirring up sparks.
He's as mischievous as a little kid.
"Does the red worm incident have anything to do with you?" Thor asked.
Kismet's eyes widened. "The Red Worm is an alien creature brought back by the Stargate Council. How can you think it's related to me? Am I the one behind all the bad things in this world?"
Seeing Kismet's aggrieved look, Thor snorted coldly, "I'm asking if you were involved in the Red Worm incident, not if you introduced the Red Worm. Don't deliberately confuse the issue."
"Haha," Kismet chuckled awkwardly, "You're really smart."
"So you did use the red worm for something after all, right? Let me think, do you also want to use the red worm to leave the wizarding world?"
Kismet's smile faded. "Brother Master, you've misunderstood me. If I truly wanted to leave the wizarding world, why would I rely on the power of other beings? External things always fail eventually. Others always leave eventually."
"That's quite inspiring. So, what brings you here?"
Kismet chuckled and leaned closer, lowering his voice, "Brother Master, haven't you now modified the Death Thread into your own method of advancement? I see your method requires selecting targets, and you've already selected four, haven't you?"
Thor glanced at Kismet, not surprised that he could guess how he had been promoted. After all, the Symphony of Fate had been modified using the Death Threads Kismet had given him.
It wasn't difficult for Kismet to see that he had already accomplished four objectives. But he might not be able to guess all the target individuals.
Moreover, among the targets Thor set, apart from Char and Froco who were outnumbered, the other two were protected by the entire wizarding community of the far north and the Tribunal, respectively, so there was no need to worry about anyone targeting them.
As long as one target survives, Thor's fourth-order foundation will remain very stable.
So, instead of Kismet's expected surprise, Thor simply nodded calmly. "Yes. And then?"
Kismet raised an eyebrow, feeling that his brother's master's reaction was not quite what he had expected.
But it doesn't matter, the important thing isn't teasing the younger brother's owner, but what comes next.
Kismett's voice softened again, so softly it was almost inaudible.
"Then, young master, would you consider making me your fifth target?"
