Chapter 923 I Don't Taste Good

Chapter 923 I Don't Taste Good

"Knock knock knock..."

Thor stood alone on the top floor of the wizard's tower, which stood alone on the stormy sea, and gently knocked on the door.

Before he could knock a second time, the door was opened silently. The hinges were well-maintained and had not rusted in such a damp environment.

Behind the door stood a black silhouette of a human figure; the alluring curves of the body suggested it was a woman.

For a moment, Thor was stunned, as if he had returned to that dark and sunless wizard's tower and saw Lady Yola standing in front of him.

But he quickly laughed at himself.

"Mrs. Yura never opens the door."

"You're right, so I am Heidi. I wonder if you still remember me." The black shadow spoke in a sharp female voice, much like the voice of an old witch in a story.

However, Thor quickly recognized the voice.

"Heidi? Haywood's sister? You've changed so much?"

Thor remembered that Heidi was the ugly face that had parasitized the back of Haywood's head.

Unexpectedly, she was transformed into the shadow form that Lady Yura once possessed.

"It's an honor that you still remember me." Heidi bowed, no longer the crazy person she once was, but much more polite and rational. "However, I can't delay your meeting with Lord Gorsa. Please follow me."

Heidi didn't dare tell Soldo, because Gorza was already waiting for Soldo in the lowest room.

Following Heidi down the stairs, we saw Haywood waiting on the middle floor.

The other person seemed a little embarrassed to speak to Thor, and simply stood at the entrance of the corridor, bowing respectfully to Thor.

Thor nodded in return, then watched the other person disappear from sight. Even after all these years, Haywood and Heidi remained third-level wizard apprentices.

Although they had been following their mentor, Gorsa, the latter did not seem to have any intention of forcibly helping them advance in their careers.

In Gorsa's mind, there was probably no difference between a third-level apprentice and a first-level formal wizard.

While he was thinking, Thor had already reached the bottom level, where Heidi could not go any further.

"Please come in. Lord Gorsa said you don't need to knock."

Saul nodded, thanked his old friend, and then pushed open the door to enter.

The door opened, and a dim light shone out.

It's strange; the hallway lights are brighter than the room lights, yet it's the room lights projecting outwards. Near the main entrance, the lighting is noticeably dimmer than elsewhere.

Thor looked at the ground and stepped into the room.

Then, he felt something touch his hand, but there was clearly no one around.

It was the feeling of being touched again, this time it was my arm.

Thor looked down and saw several small, round, dark shadows next to his own shadow on the ground.

These shadowy figures hopped and skipped, touching Thor's shadow, which Thor himself became aware of.

"Come in. They mean no harm; they're just curious about strangers."

Gorsa's voice came from deep within the room.

Thor went inside and closed the door behind him.

The instant the door closed, he suddenly saw his shadow transform into countless tiny black dots, which were then drawn away by the dots that had touched it earlier.

As he watched his shadow split and disappear, Thor felt as if his own child had been kidnapped.

He followed the lively shadow past two fully stocked shelves and saw Gorsa standing at the far end of the room.

The other person continued the experiment with their back to him.

This was the first time Thor had ever seen Gorsar conducting an experiment. Back in the Wizarding Tower, he had always seen Gorsar either sleepwalking in the middle of the night or sitting on the huge pink sofa reading a book. He didn't seem like a wizard at all.

I was unusually diligent today.

Thor made no attempt to avoid suspicion and walked directly to Gorsa's side, turning his head to see him dropping a black dumpling into a beaker that was half-filled with liquid.

The black dough resembles a piece of amber, slightly transparent, and has a certain elasticity. It quickly begins to shrink after being submerged in liquid.

In just over ten seconds, the black dough disappeared completely, dissolving into the liquid.

"Do you know what this is?" Gorsa casually picked up an identical black dumpling from the lab table and tossed it to Thor, then leaned against the lab table.

Thor grabbed the black dumpling, examined it, and then used his magic to test it.

"The Black Sea Tree Source? But there should be other things added as well."

"Hmm, you've joined me?" Gorsa pointed to his nose and said with a smile.

Thor was taken aback. "You mean you want to undergo witchcraft modifications on yourself?"

"It's finished. Now we're testing it to see if there are any other ways to improve it." Gorsa looked at the beaker where the black dough was no longer visible. "But improvements aren't so easy."

Body modification is usually a very private form of witchcraft. Since the other party didn't mention it, Thor couldn't very well ask for the specific modification formula.

Gorsa didn't seem to have any intention of asking Thor for advice. After showing Thor his modified results, he put away everything on the lab table.

As Gorsa was casting his spell, Thor suddenly sensed a familiar presence.

He quickly turned to look at Gorsa, "Mentor..."

Gorsa made no attempt to hide anything, smiling calmly, "You sensed it? Of course, after all, it's a fragment of your soul."

When did Master Gorsa obtain my soul fragment?

Thor remembered that Kismet had once asked him for a fragment of his soul. Could it be that his mentor, Gorsa, had stolen it from Kismet?

"Do you remember when you first learned to astral projection and were bitten by the mouths in the interlayer?" Gorsa reminded Thor.

"What? Was it back then?" Thor suddenly realized. "That's right, the vengeful spirits in the interlayer were also under your control."

He looked at Gorsa with resentment. Could it be that Gorsa had commanded those vengeful spirits to attack him back then?

Gorsa showed no embarrassment at being caught. "It's not my fault. Your soul was a delicious treat for those vengeful spirits. I just removed the fragments of your soul that they couldn't digest afterward."

"Oh..." Anyway, so much time has passed, so whatever Instructor Gorsa says goes.

Thor stopped dwelling on these questions. "You've fused fragments of your soul into your spiritual body? Won't that cause a mutation in the spiritual body?"

Pure soul fragments can be used to replenish spiritual power, but the soul fragments Thor gave to Gorza were not purified, and absorbing them rashly would be extremely dangerous.

If Thor hadn't had the diary to help remove impurities from the mental fragments, he wouldn't have dared to directly absorb so many soul fragments.

Moreover, Gorza is fused with a fragment of Thor's soul. And Thor isn't bragging; his soul fragment contains the power of the Star Eye. Thor can almost picture Gorza being swallowed by that eye if he's not careful.

"It's alright." Gorsa showed no fear, as if he already had a solution.

Perhaps the separated fragments of the soul can no longer use the power of the star-shaped eyes. That way, it won't be so dangerous.

Saul nodded, choosing to trust his mentor.

Suddenly, he noticed that Gorsa's shadow on the ground was twisting and deforming, like a cake expanding and twisting little by little in an oven, with huge bubbles rising to the surface.

"Mentor!" Thor exclaimed in surprise and quickly turned to look at Gorza's true form.

In a daze, the opponent's true form also turned into the shape of a shadow.

His handsome face and long neck suddenly swelled up, forming irregular bulges of flesh. His bloodless lips gradually split open, all the way to the back of his head.

When his mouth opened, it was filled with endless darkness, as if it could swallow everything.

"Look," his voice remained unchanged, as if his vocal cords had been transferred to another part of his body, "I only devoured a tiny fragment of your soul and I became like this... If I could eat you whole..."

Gorza maintained his human form, his upper body slightly leaning forward. The two were not far apart to begin with, and now his mutated, enormous mouth was about to swallow Thor's head whole!

To everyone's surprise, Thor didn't flinch at all, calmly saying, "Then you wouldn't be yourself."

Gorsa: "..."

Gorsa: "That makes sense."

The swollen skin contracted, and the deformed face returned to its original state.

He reverted to being the same Gorsa with a faint smile.
