Chapter 904 Spying on the Enemy

Flim tempted Saul with the position of Chief Justice of the Tribunal, but Saul was not interested.

Putting aside the incredibly difficult preconditions, even if he were to directly offer Thor the position now, Thor wouldn't want to accept it.

The Tribunal and Thor in the no-man's-land of Rhine City are quite different. Rhine City doesn't have such a complex web of power dynamics, and even if it did, it would take over a decade to develop.

Thor went straight to the castle gate, opened the door, and saw two wizards, one tall and one short, still guarding the entrance.

The dwarf wizard turned around, a strange smile on his face. "Yes, if you need anything, you can tell us."

Thor had been waiting for this very sentence from the dwarf: "Very good. I have just accepted Lord Frim's commission to conduct some experiments. Prepare some of these materials and send them in."

Thor unceremoniously took a piece of parchment from his storage container and began to order the dwarf wizard around like a subordinate.

The dwarf wizard's expression changed slightly, but he still took the parchment and glanced at its contents.

There are no particularly rare or precious materials.

His expression softened, and he nodded as he accepted the parchment. "You'll receive the materials you need within an hour."

"Very good." Thor nodded and closed the door behind him.

What Thor wanted were some of the magical materials he frequently used during his last visit to Eternal Night. They were unremarkable on the surface, and these people wouldn't refuse them.

But in fact, these materials contain all the materials Thor used to set up the magical array connecting the Rainbow Channel.

As long as he can communicate with the world of iridescent colors, Thor's confinement in this castle will not prevent him from communicating with the outside world and controlling the course of events.

Before long, the dwarf wizard delivered all the materials as Thor had requested.

Byron immediately came over to help Saul prepare the things.

Shortly after Frim left, Thor set up the magic circle. Then, Byron, whose mental strength had completely surpassed that of a second-tier wizard, kept watch for Thor, while Thor closed his eyes and entered the iridescent world.

On the magically stable platform that Deathbringer had casually set up for Thor, Thor immediately contacted Char.

"Char, how's it going over there?"

[As you instructed, we have delivered a letter to Lord Gorza, but he has still entered the palace in Kema. Miss Clare has also not had direct contact with Lord Gorza. She seems quite afraid of him.]

Is Keli afraid of Gorsa?

That's not surprising.

"Kira isn't in the palace? Not even in the capital?" Thor frowned upon hearing this. "If Yura wanted to use Kira to threaten Gorza—though I highly doubt he'd succeed—she should have kept Kira close by, or in a secluded place where he could be easily controlled. Instead, she sent him outside the city?"

Sending him outside the city wouldn't necessarily mean we couldn't control Kira's fate, but the variables would be too great, and it wouldn't be necessary.

There were clearly better options.

Thor's heart skipped a beat. "Yura moved Kira away—was it to protect her?"

Char was completely dumbfounded.

How can kidnapping someone and using them to blackmail Gorsa be for the purpose of protecting them?

Thor continued his analysis, "There should be a trap in the palace, which is likely aimed at Instructor Gorsa. Yura sent Kira outside the palace, perhaps to prevent her from getting into the trap, or perhaps to prevent her from destroying it. After all, Kira is a seasoned Tier 2, and if she goes all out, she can cause quite a stir."

He asked Char, "Did you discover anything unusual in the capital city of Kma and the Kma Palace? Especially Klee, who lived there for several years, did she notice anything different?"

[Keli said many soldiers in the royal city had been replaced, and we couldn't enter the palace. The person who delivered our message last time didn't reply with the coded message either. It felt like the entire palace was sealed off. From the outside, however, there didn't seem to be any significant changes; the buildings and decorations were exactly the same as before.]

"Besides the person changing, nothing else has changed?" Thor found it strange; Instructor Gorza was not someone that could be dealt with by ordinary traps.

After thinking for a moment, Thor suddenly prompted them, "Are there any changes or anomalies related to light or light element particles?"

Xia immediately went to discuss it with Keli again.

After discussing for a while, the two finally gave Saul a valuable answer.

"Yes, yes, Claire said the castle rarely had its lights on during the day, but when we sneaked in to check it out last time, we found that all the rooms inside the visible windows were exceptionally bright. At first, Claire thought it was because Yura was too extravagant and wanted all the rooms to have lights on, since that's how her own room was always done. She seems very afraid of the dark."

"Afraid of the dark? Probably not?" Thor had already guessed what the other was planning, a cold smile playing on his lips. "I think Yura was already preparing this trap when he joined Kira!"
