Chapter 877 Promotion Failure

Chapter 877 Promotion Failure

While those outside were figuring out how to help Thor escape the Lost Corridor, Thor didn't relax either.

After reading Midor's growth report, he wandered through the Lost Corridor once again.

Hiding in the prison and waiting for Flim to kindly release him, or waiting for someone else to rescue him, is not in Saul's nature.

Although Thor had already wandered around this square, labyrinthine corridor several times on his first day there, he hadn't found anything.

But today he's going to take another good look around.

Since the Lost Corridor can absorb magic and isolate spiritual power, it means that this is indeed a place where souls are stored.

If Royer's soul resides here, then are there other souls as well?

Saul needs to look around and see if he can find some "natives" to gather more information about the area so he can formulate a plan to leave.

Thor walked back and forth in the square corridor more than a dozen times, but for the time being, he did not find any gap through which his mental energy could escape.

Recalling that Leah always appeared at a corner, I also came to a corner.

The walls of the two passageways form a right angle here. But even if this right angle is so sharp that there isn't a single gap, it is still the junction of the two walls.

Perhaps the way out is right here.

Thor squinted, and a thin thread, invisible to others, emerged from his fingertip and then touched the wall of the Lost Corridor.

The walls of the Lost Corridor are made of materials whose composition is indiscernible; they feel smooth to the touch, as if powder has been evenly applied to the brickwork.

But when Saul's extended fate line touched the wall, it immediately disappeared into it without being blocked or bounced back.

However, once the fate line enters the wall, it is also a void. The line segment cannot probe anything, just like entering a vast ocean with surging undercurrents. It is impossible to move forward in a straight line; one can only drift with the current.

The first day's attempt was terminated when Leah came in to deliver the experimental data.

However, Thor was not discouraged.

After telling Thor about Midor's situation outside, Lydia did not rush to leave. Instead, she knelt on one knee, wanting to provide Thor with magic again.

But Saul waved his left hand, signaling her to get up.

"What I need right now isn't magic," Thor said after Lydia stood up. "I can't stay here forever. Could you help me find out why I'm being locked up here?"

Leah had actually received some information, but her position in the Tribunal was not high, so she had no access to more confidential information and could only rely on her own guesses to understand many things.

"Lord Thor, I heard that Lord Frim went to see the Black Flame Emperor immediately after the Black Tide subsided, and the two seemed to have had another argument. No one knows why they argued. Could it be related to you?"

Thinking of the Black Flame Emperor, Thor's heart skipped a beat. "Has the Wizard Stuart appeared?"

Stuart's disappearance was a secret among the higher-ups of the Tribunal. Until the Black Tide Monster was completely destroyed, most people did not know that the person who disguised himself as the Black Flame Emperor at sea was Stuart.

However, if the other party hadn't died and had been found, they should be in public now.

Even if he dies, as long as his complete soul can be retrieved, the fourth-tier wizard Airo should be able to resurrect Stuart just as Frim resurrected Roye.

"No, Wizard Stuart hasn't appeared since the Black Tide appeared." Leah shook her head, not understanding why Thor would bring up Stuart.

Stuart hasn't appeared yet, which means he hasn't been found. The Black Flame Emperor and Frim are probably arguing about this.

After all, it was probably Flim's idea to have Stuart impersonate Airo.

So, could he get some inside information from Emperor Airo?

Thor glanced at Lydia.

Sending Leah to contact Emperor Elor would be too difficult and too conspicuous. Leah is currently the only wizard who can directly contact Thor. Her every move will undoubtedly be monitored.

Saul needs a more discreet way to find out about Flim.

The Rainbow Channel is also unavailable because Thor is currently in a place where his mental energy is blocked.

"Then we must create an opportunity to leave here, even if it's just a brief one."

Thinking of this, Thor asked Lydia, "Can you see Royer?"

Leah nodded. "Lord Royer is often in the Red Sea. Most of the experimental data about Midor that you requested was given to me by Lord Royer."

"Alright, go tell Royer, no matter what, to ask Lord Frim if he needs me to do anything to let me leave."

Leah nodded, looking at Thor's empty right arm with a pang of heartache. "My lord, why don't you absorb the magic power within me? There are no elemental particles here, so it would be troublesome for you to conduct any experiments."

Thor refused her again. "I only need to analyze some data for now, and my current magic reserves are sufficient. If possible, could you please bring me some metal array plates and magic crystals next time?"

Leah nodded and left reluctantly.

After Leah left, Thor pulled out a small metal plaque from his hand.

That was the magic circle on the Soul-Stabilizing Needle he got from Sander.

Previously, in order to deal with the Black Tide and modify the black tree branch that Midor was attached to, he had not continued to study the witchcraft array on the Soul-Stabilizing Needle for a long time.

But now he has taken out the nameplate that replicated part of the magic array again and is spending most of his time and energy on it.

The next day, after getting enough rest, Thor resumed his exploration.

The fate line enters a labyrinthine corridor, like a fish lost in the ocean, utterly bewildered and unsure of where to go or what to do.

This time, however, Thor had more control over the Fate Line, striving to guide it to explore further.

The world perceived by the Fateline hasn't changed, but Thor believes that if he keeps searching, he'll definitely find something unusual.

That could be the location where Thor broke through.

After all, this is only a fourth-tier wizard's lost corridor, and it is not perfect.

Finally, after an unknown amount of time exploring, Thor sensed an unusual fluctuation.

He quickly manipulated the Fate Line to swim towards the source of the disturbance.

Just as Thor was figuring out how to leave the Lost Corridor, Frim was in another identical corridor, listening to a report from one of the wizard's men.

"Gorsa the Wizard has failed to advance to the fourth rank."

His subordinate's voice was filled with joy.

Flim, however, remained a warm-colored ball of light without any expression.

"It's normal to fail once when advancing from the third to the fourth tier."

Flim's voice was also calm, but the fact that he didn't get angry at this moment actually indicated that he was in a good mood.

Ever since the mermaid mutants attracted the backflow of the Black Tide monsters, forcing Frim to abandon his plan to intercept Gorza, he has been in a bad mood.

Things haven't gotten much worse yet.

Upon seeing this, the wizard knew that Frim was quite pleased and quickly reported on the next matter.

"However, I heard that Gorsa will attempt to reach the fourth tier again within three years. It is said that the black tide from the Wailing Wall will launch a major attack in three years."

Flim paused for a moment before saying, "Tell Wizard Murphy to leave the Wailing Wall for a while, as agreed last time."

"Yes." The wizard in charge of the report lowered his head deeply.
