Chapter 824 Soul-Stabilizing Needle

Chapter 824 Soul-Stabilizing Needle

After hearing Sander's description of the Soul-Stabilizing Needle, Saul's first reaction before surprise welled up was disbelief.

"You...possess such powerful magical artifacts?"

Thor had never heard of the Soul-Stabilizing Needle. But that didn't stop him from knowing just how powerful this magical artifact was.

In the wizarding world, the leading cause of death is war, and the second leading cause is pollution!

Pollution from various causes affects the physical and mental well-being of wizards.

Some wizards may suffer from the torment of pollution, and die in agony due to alienation.

Some wizards don't react at all; they suddenly undergo mutation, turning into monsters that kill others or are killed by others.

Moreover, sometimes pollution and alienation are more dangerous than death.

Because for high-level wizards, death can be resurrected, but if they become mutated... then they truly become mutated.

If a wizard could possess the Soul-Stabilizing Needle that Sander spoke of, it would be as if he had a second life.

But how did something like this end up in the hands of an ordinary person like Sander?

It is different from the Chaotic Realm Compass. Without key items, the Chaotic Realm Compass shows almost no abnormalities and is simply regarded as an antique pocket watch with collectible value.

But Sander knew exactly what the Soul-Stabilizing Needle did.

Seeing Thor's suspicious gaze, Sander swallowed hard, feeling quite pressured. "Actually, this item isn't in my possession right now."

Oh, what a load of rubbish!

Saul believed Sander wouldn't dare to play a trick on him, so he crossed his arms and waited for Sander's explanation.

"Actually, I knew about the Soul-Stabilizing Needle when I was a child. But at that time, I didn't know its abilities or its name. My father just told me that if the family was in a critical moment of not being able to continue, we could use this Soul-Stabilizing Needle to try to save our lives."

"This secret can only be known by the eldest son of the royal family. Right now, the only one who knows it is me."

"But the Soul-Stabilizing Needle isn't in your possession right now, is it?" Thor asked.

"Yes. Many powerful magical artifacts from ancient times have one thing in common: before you know how to use them correctly, even if the artifact is right in front of you, you might just treat it as an ordinary object."

"Forget all that, just tell me where the item is. I need to confirm the existence of the Soul-Stabilizing Needle before I can even consider any further transactions."

Sander was stunned, his hands clenched together, his knuckles turning white.

Seeing Sander's expression, Thor knew he was conflicted, fearing that once Thor got the Soul-Stabilizing Needle, he would abandon the deal with him, or even betray him outright.

But at the same time, Sander also understood that he had no one else to turn to for help.

He didn't believe in any of the wizards in the tribunal.

He couldn't see any wizards other than those in the Tribunal.

Thor was the first "outsider" Sander met after being brought back to the Eternal Night Palace.

A butterfly flew from Sander's left eye to his right eye and then disappeared behind his eye socket.

Sander suddenly looked up. "Alright! I'll tell you the location of the Soul-Stabilizing Needle, and at the same time, I'm entrusting my life and Midor's life to you!"

Sander stepped forward, leaned close to Saul's ear, and whispered a few words in a very low voice.

Thor paused, looking at Sander. "How did you get there?"

Sander smiled wryly, "Who told him to be the only person on the continent of Neflet who could stand against the Chief Justice? Besides, he didn't know that thing was the Soul-Stabilizing Needle; he just thought it was a treasure trove we had prepared for our future. Someone of his level naturally wouldn't covet our treasure, nor would we be afraid of him pocketing it."

Thor pondered for a moment, then chuckled softly, "It's certainly safe there, but I still need to confirm that what you placed there is indeed the Soul-Stabilizing Needle."

"No problem." Sander nodded. "I have a way to get him to come over soon and retrieve the Soul-Stabilizing Needle. Once you have the Soul-Stabilizing Needle, you can help Midor be resurrected."

Sander's sincerity was so great that it was practically telling Saul that he could take the payment first and then do the work.

Of course, he had no other choice but to trust Thor.

Thor was satisfied.

However, to ensure that the transaction does not involve subjective issues, he still needs to add an extra layer of protection.

"Alright, I'll revive your sister Midor. In exchange, you must do everything in your power to help me obtain the Soul-Stabilizing Needle. If you agree, our deal is done."

Sander finally relaxed a little and showed a genuine smile. "Thank you, Lord Saul."

"I'll take the box with me first. Midor's soul can still be of help to you, so it will remain in your body. I'll take her away when I need her."

Sander readily nodded.

Now that he had chosen to trust Saul and the deal was done, he didn't want to appear hesitant, lest he upset the other party.

"I also need your blood."

"No problem."

"And the bloodline of the mermaid royal family, can you get your hands on that?"

The bloodline of the Merfolk royal family is extremely rare, and Alfonso might not hand it over to Thor for experiments.

Furthermore, Thor didn't want the Tribunal to know about the experiments he conducted to resurrect Midor.

Sander frowned and said with a wry smile, "I can't access that either... It's an important material for creating the new royal family, and they're afraid I'll sabotage it."

Without obtaining the bloodline of the Merfolk royal family, Thor's ideas could not be tested.

Thor rested his chin on his hand, thinking, "Should I steal it? Stealing is easy, but how do I clear myself of suspicion afterward? I still need to conduct experiments later."

Sander didn't know what Thor wanted about the mermaid royal bloodline, but thought it would be useful for resurrecting Midor, and he was racking his brains to figure it out.

Finally, he came up with a solution, though he wasn't sure if it would work.

"Lord Thor, have you ever seen a mermaid who has undergone atavism?"

"I've seen one."

"A merman who has reverted to his ancestral form is actually a merman whose faint royal merman bloodline has awakened. Although their bloodline is weak, if we can find more of them, we might be able to extract a sufficient amount of royal merman bloodline."

At this point, Sander hardened his heart and gritted his teeth, saying, "I know of a mermaid with the most ancestral bloodline, located in the deepest room of this palace!"

Sander needed a protégé to ensure he wouldn't become a celebration for the next emperor.

For this reason, he was willing to sacrifice even the mermaid princess, whom he had a good impression of.

He didn't want to die, and he couldn't die.

As long as Midor becomes his successor and the royal bloodline is inherited, he can remove the shackles on his body and get rid of the identity of a puppet emperor.

If managed properly, it could even return to the political center of Eternal Night!

Saul saw a pair of eyes that concealed ambition beneath Sander's respectful expression.

But he didn't say anything.

Wanting to live, wanting to live well, is only human nature.

Thor used the storage device to put away the box containing Midor's remains, then said, "You stay here and get some rest. I'm going to check on that atavistic mermaid you mentioned."

After he finished speaking, he turned around and left the small but lively room.

Back in the dimly lit palace outside, through three magnificent doors and past two spacious rooms, Thor finally arrived at the last room.

He pushed open the last door and immediately saw the opposite wall.

It wasn't a wall, but a huge glass house filled with water.

A mermaid with a blue tail is lying on the glass, staring at Thor.

Pearly hair and pearly eyes are like the most beautiful pearl in a shell.

"She's even prettier than that mermaid named Coral," Thor thought to himself.

Suddenly, a voice rang out from behind, "Lord Thor, what are you doing here?"

Thor turned around and saw Alfonso, who had just teleported there.
