Chapter 798 Flying Horse Welcomes Guests
Chapter 798 Flying Horse Welcomes Guests
Although Thor didn't see how Kismet stopped Ophelia, he believed that the guy must have a way.
While he was pondering, Thor had already landed on the westernmost coast of the continent of Iskeper.
In order to find the Radiant Family as soon as possible and break free from Ophelia's control, Thor deliberately chose the most populated harbor.
However, before Thor could land, a dark figure suddenly appeared on a small hill near the harbor, and then the figure flew toward Thor at an extremely fast speed.
As he got closer, Thor realized that the black shadow flying towards him was actually a huge coffin, nearly three meters long, made entirely of black wood, the kind of coffin that was wider at the top and narrower at the bottom.
Thor stopped immediately.
The coffin opposite also stopped less than thirty meters away from Thor, hovering in the air.
Thor narrowed his eyes; the person opposite him was also a third-tier wizard.
Although there must be quite a few third-tier wizards in the Stargate Council's headquarters on the continent of Iskeper, he didn't expect to find one near a city he randomly chose.
Because wizarding resources are limited, especially since high-level wizarding materials are scarce near ordinary people's cities, most high-level wizards tend to concentrate in a few areas.
After the black coffin opposite stopped, the lid slowly opened, revealing that it was filled with black soil.
The soil was mixed with dead leaves and grayish-white pebbles, looking like soil that had been turned over from a random field.
Then a pale arm emerged from inside, followed by a bare shoulder, an equally pale body, and a slender neck with clearly visible purplish-red veins.
It just... has no head.
The neck suddenly tightened, and from the tip, about the thickness of a thumb, a purplish-red rhizome emerged. After growing to a height of 5 centimeters, it suddenly split into two huge leaves with serrated edges.
It looks somewhat like a Venus flytrap.
It is emerald green on the outside and bright red on the inside.
A sound came from near the other person's neck.
"Wizard Thor, you should stay in the No Man's Land. That is your territory, and it is your duty."
The other party should be from the Stargate Council, but Thor didn't expect him to speak so domineeringly.
"Since it's territory, it's not a cage," Thor said with a smile. "May I ask who you are, sir?"
"Ole. But that's not important, you should go back."
Thor lowered his gaze, looking at the harbor and the waves below. "What if I don't go back?"
Ole, with a grass-headed, human-bodied form, lay in the mud and pulled his other arm out of the soil.
The arm begins to contract from the forearm, transforming into a purplish-red vine, the tip of which is also a pair of leaves with serrated edges.
"Then I'll take you back." The other person's voice was cold, not like they were joking.
Thor smiled. "That depends on whether you have the ability."
Just as the two were about to clash, the humanoid package that Thor was carrying trembled.
Although Kate couldn't see outside, her mental power allowed her to roughly sense what was happening.
He didn't want to be stuck between two third-tier wizards who were about to fight.
Having finally escaped the cat's body, the price was being placed in a mermaid's body, and one that was so ugly.
"I shouldn't have made a wish on the white porcelain cat so early. The wish did come true, but the way it came about was such a rip-off!"
Just as Kate was worried about her own safety and the atmosphere between Thor and Ole was becoming increasingly tense, another powerful magical wave erupted from the mountains where Ole had just come from, bringing with it a shockwave that flew over with great force.
Thor and Ole both looked at the newcomer, but neither chose to make a move at that moment.
As the person approached, Thor realized it was someone he knew.
Thor didn't know many people in the Stargate Council. Apart from his mentor Gorza, who could be considered a member, there was also Corey, who was once his rival but later became his ally due to the Black Tide outbreak in the No Man's Lands and was skilled in emotional control.
It's been almost a year since I last saw him, and he's still a senior second-tier wizard. It seems that getting to the third tier is really not easy.
Corey remained expressionless, dressed in a gorgeous Rococo-style dress, looking more like a doll than a living person.
She sensed the tension between Thor and Ole, and even before she got close, she exuded a refreshing fragrance different from the seawater.
This eased the tension between Thor and Ole somewhat.
Most noticeably, Ole pulled his arm, which had turned into a purplish-red vine, back into the soil.
Seeing this, Corey remained expressionless, but felt a sense of relief.
As a second-tier wizard, her influence on two third-tier wizards was limited. The fact that the atmosphere was eased was mostly because neither side truly wanted to fight.
More than anything, it was an arrogant probing and a confident, direct test.
When he arrived between Thor and Ole, Corey first nodded slightly to Thor, "It's been a long time, Lord Thor."
The two had worked together seamlessly before, and Thor returned the greeting with a nod, "Hello, Wizard Corey."
After exchanging greetings, Corey turned to face Ole.
"Lord Ole, Lord Sol is a guest of the Stargate Council in Iskepar. Please allow me to receive him."
"A guest? The Stargate Council didn't invite him, did they?" Plant-headed Ole chuckled.
Despite the pressure from the third-tier Oler, Corey said, "I am not a guest of the Stargate Council, but also a guest of Radiance."
When the word "glory" was mentioned, Ole finally opened his mouth.
"Since they are guests of your Radiant Glory, it is only right that you entertain them."
After saying that, Ole prepared to lie back down in the coffin.
He was lying down for a while when he suddenly stopped, stretched out his still-human arm, picked up something from the edge of the coffin, threw it down, and then lay down again.
The bulky top cover closed automatically with a dull "bang".
Then, like a cannonball, it bounced back into the deep mountains.
Corey then turned around and smiled at Thor.
Her smile only affected the muscles around her lips; her eyes remained completely unchanged.
Thor felt a little uncomfortable watching this, and pinched the bridge of his nose. "If you can't laugh, then don't."
"No," Corey's voice was flat, his smile still fixed on his face. "The chieftain said I need to practice my interpersonal skills more, and not always act like an emotionless doll."
The problem is that your smile lacks any emotion!
Thor mentally scoffed, then changed the subject, "Did the wizard Ole and the Radiant family not get along?"
Corey gave Thor a strange look. "He doesn't get along with you. His student, Luke, died in No Man's Land."
Luke was the last person to compete with Thor and Corey for a third-tier wizard position.
"His death has nothing to do with me."
"But you are the ultimate winner," Corey said bluntly. "A third-tier wizard is a very important asset."
"So, you're saying you're using yourself as a bargaining chip too?" Thor asked with a smile.
Corey didn't answer. "Now that we're here, shall we go and pay our respects to Lord Norton, the Radiant Clan Chief?"
Thor stroked his chin, wondering if Corey's appearance here, interrupting his conflict with Ole, was also related to the power of destiny that the water god Froco had given him.
"Did you wait for me here on purpose?"
Corey turned around in surprise, pursed her lips, and said, "The chieftain said that if we encounter a guest, we can bring them back to meet him."
By this time, the two had approached the harbor, and people on the shore could see them simply by looking up.
But Thor stopped. "I'm afraid we won't be able to meet today."
Corey had no choice but to stop, and she followed Thor's gaze.
A two-horse carriage had appeared on the shore at some point, and the moment her eyes fell upon it, the two horses pulling the carriage suddenly unfurled a pair of enormous black wings.
Two horses, leading a discreet carriage behind them, suddenly took off, startling the ordinary people around them who quickly gave way.
As the dark carriage rapidly approached, Corey's eyes widened suddenly.
"The Pegasus of the Eternal Night Empire," she suddenly realized something, immediately looked at Thor beside her, and murmured, "the highest-class vehicle used by the Tribunal to receive its guests."
Thor gave a wry smile. "They're probably afraid I'll be late."
A radiant welcome, the court intercepts the deal.
