Chapter 790 Cats and Fish

Paul took Mina back to his temporary residence.

Although it may seem that only Mina's ears have changed, Paul knows very well that his daughter is no longer an ordinary little girl.

Mina, now with two extra white ears, fell asleep on the way home. Saul gave Paul a few instructions on how to take care of Mina's health and then vanished instantly.

Paul stared blankly at the chair the other person had just been sitting in for a few seconds before he came to his senses.

Then he walked to Mina's bedside, squatted down, looked at the sleeping Mina and the two little wings on her head, and raised his hand to touch the top of his daughter's head as he used to.

However, the wings that had been quiet just moments before suddenly rose, parted, and resembled a pale human hand, trying to grasp the hand that Paul was reaching out to.

Paul's arm froze in place; he ultimately didn't dare to continue touching it.

"My Mina, she's finally turned into a little monster."

When Paul said this, there was regret and relief in his voice, but no fear.

"Dad needs to work harder too. At only the third-level apprentice level, there's no way he can protect Mina."

"It's good that you're aware of this." Thor's voice suddenly rang out from behind.

Paul's heart tightened, and he quickly turned around to find that Saul had somehow reappeared in the chair he had just been sitting in.

It was as if he had never left.

"Lord Saul," Paul bowed respectfully.

This kind of etiquette is only used when addressing superiors or mentors.

Saul knew that this was Paul surrendering to him.

This talented and kind-hearted wizard apprentice finally stopped fleeing the dangers of the wizarding world with his daughter.

Saul nodded, accepting the courtesy, which could be considered as accepting Paul's surrender.

He raised his hand and placed a box on the table.

The box is about one meter long and wide, and half a meter high. It is sealed tightly, so you can't tell what's inside.

It was quiet and didn't make a sound when it gently bumped against the table.

"Keep this here for now, and let Mina interact with it as much as possible."

Saul didn't explain much, and Paul could only nod in agreement.

After thinking for a moment, Paul came over and tentatively moved the box to Mina's bed and placed it on top of Mina's head.

"Do you think this is alright?" Paul turned around and cautiously asked Saul for his opinion.

Thor chuckled. "Heh, you're quite proactive. If you had been like this before, you wouldn't still be an apprentice now."

Seeing Paul remain silent, Thor stopped teasing him. "Mina's ordeal will surely lead her to enter the wizarding world ahead of schedule. What are your thoughts on that?"

"I... Lord Thor, may I become your student?"

One-on-one teaching is completely different from the teacher-student relationship in a public lecture hall.

"No," Thor refused him coldly.

Paul was not discouraged and cautiously asked again, "What about Mina? Her talent is definitely not lacking."

"Mina has already been chosen by someone else, who will personally take her as an apprentice." Although Saul refused again, he still pointed Paul in a direction, but he didn't explain it clearly, and it was unclear who it was.

"You don't need to worry about anything else. I will give you and Mina a portion of the wizard's legacy that abducted Mina. Use these materials to advance to a formal wizard and help Mina recuperate. Don't tell anyone about the existence of this box, and don't let anyone else notice its special nature."

Paul nodded repeatedly.

Having arranged everything, Thor disappeared again.

Paul waited there for a while, and only breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that Saul would not return.

Mina, who was sleeping soundly, turned over and her little hand landed on the edge of the box.

Saul teleported from Paul's place back to his cabin.

Inside the room, Kate, the orange cat, was curiously perched next to the large water tank that Nathan had just brought back, staring intently with her cat eyes as she tried to see inside, but still couldn't make out what was inside.

Thor added an insulating layer to the outside of the water tank, so Kate, the orange cat who was only at level two, naturally couldn't see what was inside.

"What is this?" Kate turned around and was no longer surprised to see Thor's sudden appearance.

"Mermaids, have you ever heard of them?" Thor casually sat down to the side and took out a small white porcelain cat from his pocket, placing it on the table.

"Mermaids... they seem to be an ancient species, but aren't they on the verge of extinction?"

"There are almost no true mermaids. The one in front of you is a modified product." Thor raised his hand and released a ball of white light, which entered the water tank. The entire water tank immediately became clean and new, and even the water that had been inside for who knows how long became crystal clear.

Kate was thus able to see the creature inside clearly.

"Wow, this merman is much uglier than the ones in the records!"

After touching it for a while, he closed his eyes, as if trying to sense whether his luck had increased.

"I have another use for the original." Thor looked down at the pitiful-looking fat orange cat. "What do you need that you have to pray to the original for good luck?"
