Chapter 789 The Wrathful Water God

Chapter 789 The Wrathful Water God

Nathan fell to the back of the three.

He believed his mentor could definitely save Mina, but he didn't know what method the mentor would use.

Mina was just an ordinary person who was turned into that state by witchcraft potions and experiments... Although Nathan didn't see it with his own eyes, he could guess from Paul's description that Mina's current appearance must be extremely miserable.

Even if Thor manages to save them, can they really return to a normal life in the end?

Paul has been so careful in protecting his daughter, but in the end, he may still have to let this little girl experience the cruelty and horror of the wizarding world ahead of time.

Thinking this, Nathan slowly walked into the room, which looked sweet on the outside but was gloomy on the inside.

Then he saw Paul, who had rushed in first, standing blankly at the door, while Nero, who followed closely behind, had his mouth agape, as if he had seen something terrifying.

"As expected... Mina can't go back."

Nathan took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself before taking the final step and looking into the room.

He first saw the back of a little girl.

It must be Mina.

She was wearing a red dress, the same one she had when she was abducted, except that the red of the fabric seemed a little darker than before.

Then Nathan saw that Mina's head no longer had any wounds, but where her ears used to be, a pair of white wings had appeared.

The wings are not large, like a pigeon's wings, but the texture looks softer, like cotton.

"Mina?" Paul finally snapped out of his daze and gently called out the girl's name.

He carefully adjusted his facial expression, making sure that no matter what Mina looked like when she turned her head, his expression would not change.

The little girl, who had been standing quietly, suddenly trembled and quickly turned around.

Her long, black, shoulder-length hair danced and leaped, drawing joyful arcs.

The white wings that replaced the ears flapped "whoosh whoosh" like a puppy's tail wagging from side to side.

"dad!"

Mina's eyes widened, her face filled with joy, and she opened her arms to rush towards Paul.

Paul saw that Mina's face hadn't changed except for her ears, and he grinned excitedly, hugging his daughter tightly and kissing her hair repeatedly.

Nathan sidestepped past Paul and Mina and entered the room, where he saw Saul standing opposite a large water tank.

"Professor," he said softly, "thank you for your help."

"No trouble at all." Thor pointed to the large water vat in front of him. "Move this vat to my place. Be careful not to touch anything inside."

Nathan hadn't expected to be doing hard labor right away, but he was still quite happy that Thor was willing to let him work.

The more useful he is to Saul, the longer their teacher-student relationship may last.

"Yes, mentor!" Nathan didn't even bother to ask about Mina's condition. He immediately cast a levitation spell to lift the water tank, which was almost the size of a single bed.

"You," Thor commanded Nero again, "clean this place up. Report to the Institute of Practice tomorrow, saying that the Palin wizard's experiment failed and he was corrupted and mutated."

Nero nodded repeatedly.

He was more than willing to help, knowing that this was a second-tier wizard's laboratory, where even a single magical material was incredibly valuable.

Even if Thor might take the most valuable parts, what's left is still a windfall for Nero.

"Paul, take Mina and come with me."

Saul then called Paul and Mina and left the room.

Both Nathan, who was carrying the water tank, and Nero, who was tidying up the room, stopped and stood respectfully, watching Thor leave.

As Paul carried Mina away, she finally noticed Nero and Nathan, and waved her little hand to them goodbye.

Seeing that Mina's personality seemed unaffected and that she was still as well-behaved and cute as before, even Nathan couldn't help but smile with relief.

However, his smile froze halfway through.

As the little girl waved at them, the two wings on her head also flapped, as if the little girl had two extra hands.

But upon closer inspection, those weren't wings at all; they were clearly two pale, paper-white hands gently waving at them.

It was as if someone was about to grow out of Mina's brain.

……

Thor returns to the "deep sea".

"Get ready, I'll give you a chance to create an explosion in three weeks. But whether this explosion can trigger a tsunami depends on your own efforts."

The water god Floco paused for a moment, then said, "Having only prepared for a little over two months, isn't that too hasty?"

He has been trying to escape for over a century. This time, he is cooperating with Thor because Thor can use his special abilities to trap the curse released from the deep sea in a corner of the ocean floor. Once the accumulated power of the curse reaches a certain amount, it can generate powerful internal pressure.

If operated properly, this internal pressure can explode at the right time, releasing enormous energy and bringing the Floco, which was suppressed on the seabed, to the surface.

Even if he can't reach the surface in one go, as long as he gets out of the deep sea, the power of the seal will weaken, and Froco can rely on his current restored power to break free from the seal.

But this pressure has only been building for a little over two months. Although Froco has put in a lot of effort and persevered a lot in order to prevent the curse from exploding prematurely, he still feels it's not the right time.

At the very least, we should accumulate energy for at least a year before considering explosive energy!

"You can still wait, but I don't have time." Thor shook his head and sighed with a smile. "I originally thought I could stay here for half a year."

"Six months would be fine too."

"But in fact, I will conduct an experiment in a month. Before this experiment, Ophelia, in her preparation, will likely discover the secret to my help in getting you out of trouble. She's currently trying to advance to a fifth-tier wizard using the same method you used to do!"

The white cat remained seated, but its swaying tail betrayed its surprise.

"So many years have passed, and there's still someone trying to use my methods to get promoted." He then shook his head with a smile, "She's dreaming too much."

Thor's expression shifted. "What, you think she can't succeed?"

"I call myself the Water God, but it's also because my bloodline is naturally exceptionally affinity for the water element. I once told you that I belong to the Azure Scale Clan, which is actually what we call ourselves. Outsiders often refer to us as the Merfolk Clan based on my appearance."

Mermaids?

Sol looked up abruptly, but did not immediately interrupt Froco.

"By the time I advanced, most of the merfolk had already left this world. And you humans, in fact, are unable to replace your entire body with water elemental particles like I have."

"It seems Ophelia's path to advancement won't be smooth. But are you sure the merfolk have all left this wizarding world? I just heard that a large number of merfolk live in the coastal areas of a certain continent."

"What?" Floco exclaimed in surprise. "How is this possible? The water element particles in this world are no longer pure. Even if merfolk still remain here, it would be difficult for them to reproduce. How could there be so many merfolk?"

In Thor's consciousness space, he can conjure the surface form of any object.

Thor didn't argue much, and simply raised his hand, and a 3D projection appeared beside him.

The projection was extremely clear, agile and ferocious; it was the mermaid Thor had seen in the Palin wizard's laboratory.

Unexpectedly, the moment Flo saw the mermaid-like appearance, all the cat fur on his body stood on end!

"Which damned bastard did this?! How could they turn the merfolk into this state?!"
