Chapter 758 How About Our Cooperation?
Chapter 758 How About Our Cooperation?
Walk through the open-air corridor, climb several spiral steps, and enter the dark archway.
Thor followed Ona all the way to the most solemn main hall of the entire castle.
Along the way, he saw several more Ophelias.
All I can say is that this woman is definitely much crazier than her sister.
Upon entering the main hall that Ona had mentioned, Ona did not go inside, but instead gestured for Thor to enter alone.
The door opened, revealing an unexpectedly dimly lit room.
However, thanks to his excellent eyesight, Thor was able to easily see what was inside.
The spacious main hall was covered with a red velvet carpet, and overhead hung a huge and magnificent chandelier.
The walls on both sides also feature exquisite bronze candlesticks.
However, the light above and to the sides was rather dim.
Each candlestick rests beneath a white porcelain vase with a round bottom and a narrow neck, but the vase is empty of any decorations.
There was only a bare bottle.
These white porcelain vases, along with the candlelight, were laid out all the way to the end of the main hall.
At the end is a staircase with thirty-three steps.
On the high platform at the top of the stairs stood a magnificent throne woven with gold and silver.
Strangely, no one sat on the throne; instead, a white porcelain vase of the same size and shape was placed in the center.
A bottle was sitting where people should have been sitting.
It's funny, yet a little creepy.
The midday sun could barely penetrate the room, as both windows were hidden behind heavy curtains.
The main hall was extremely dark.
A solemn yet eerie atmosphere spread like a spider throughout every corner of the room.
"Click!"
As Thor stepped fully into the main hall, the doors behind him closed automatically.
Surprisingly, the level of light in the room did not change significantly.
Now, it seems that only Thor remains in the entire main hall.
After a short wait, Thor broke the silence.
"Lady Ophelia, are you or your clone here?"
"Splash!"
The first response to Thor was the sound of water.
Then came a murmur of laughter.
"Hmm!"
Suddenly, a skull rose from the white porcelain vase on the high platform, and then it continued to rise, revealing a distorted forehead, brow bone, and eyes...
Until the entire face was squeezed out of the white porcelain bottle, the piled-up chunks of flesh began to writhe and twist, gradually transforming into the beautiful face of Ophelia that Thor had seen several times before.
However, her neck was still frighteningly long, resembling more of an intestine.
"Welcome, Lord Saul."
Saul bowed with his hand on his chest. "Please forgive my uninvited arrival."
Ophelia smiled, "How could I blame you? Ever since you single-handedly resolved the eye of the storm without harming a single person, I've been wanting to invite you to Sky City. I just didn't dare to make the presumptuous invitation because I was worried that the No Man's Land couldn't do without you."
Thor paused for a moment, then said, "The No Man's Lands won't be troubled by the eye of the storm for a while, and I've been monitoring the situation there."
"Then why did you travel all this way to Sky City?" Ophelia tilted her head, her neck bent like a stalk of wheat.
"I came for the Wind Demon."
"Hehehe, a wind demon?" Ophelia laughed again; she seemed to enjoy laughing. "Why be so formal? Do you think I don't know your relationship with her?"
Thor was not embarrassed by Ophelia's teasing; instead, he became somewhat serious.
"I know what my relationship with Pei'er is, but I'm not sure what your relationship with Feng Yao is."
One sentence wiped the smile off Ophelia's face.
"Oh, are you blaming me for letting others send my sister to heaven?"
Ophelia wasn't angry; instead, she sighed softly.
"What could I do? Pelle had been targeted by the Stargate Council for a long time. According to the plan, she was supposed to be a stepping stone for Clark's promotion, but unfortunately Clark himself was useless and died at the hands of others."
She glanced sideways at Saul. "You probably know that other person too! Now that you think about it, who else but him would be so decisive?"
Did Ophelia already guess that it was Gorza who killed Clark?
Could the Stargate Council and the Tribunal have also discovered this?
Since our last parting, Instructor Gorsa said he was going to advance to the fourth rank, but there has been no further news since.
Thor didn't doubt his ability to advance to the fourth tier; he was just worried that he might be targeted again.
Ophelia gave Thor a slight nod, and seeing him deep in thought, she continued, "Although Perle escaped death because of Clark's demise, the Stargate, whose plan failed, doesn't intend to truly let her go. There's no way around it; she carries a small amount of wind demon blood, making her too easy to target."
"Looking back now, when the Star Gate Council and the Tribunal agreed to help Pei'er advance to the third rank and move into the No Man's Land, they probably already had a plan for how to use her in the future."
Saul listened without arguing, but instead asked, "So you're saying that you wouldn't be willing to sacrifice Pelle unless absolutely necessary?"
"certainly."
"So, you and Pei'er actually have a pretty good relationship?"
"After all, we share a portion of our blood from the same man."
Thor clapped his hands. "Well, if there's a chance to bring Pelle back, would you be willing to do me a small favor?"
Ophelia slowly straightened her neck. "Oh? So, this is where you were waiting for me?"
Solton immediately felt a mental pressure, like a boulder crashing down on him, causing his body to sway twice.
The pressure came not only from the front, but also from the identical white porcelain vases behind him.
"Actually, this is a good attempt for you too," Thor said, bracing himself for the pressure. "After all, Pelle is currently in the middle of the stars, and I think you'd be quite interested in that area as well."
Ophelia was unmoved. "I yearn for the stars, but it's also extremely dangerous there, completely beyond my control. And even the simple act of trying to bring Peer back could attract very dangerous enemies."
"And it's very likely that there won't even be a corpse left over there for Pei'er."
Ophelia was right about that; the other side of the star was extremely dangerous, and Per really had no body left.
Saul wasn't in a hurry. "What if I told you I'd already contacted Pelle once, and she's not in any immediate danger? Would you be willing to take the risk?"
Ophelia's head suddenly stretched out in front of Thor, her slender, white neck twisting and turning several times in the air.
"You've made contact with the world beyond the stars? How did you do that? Do you possess another stargate?"
Thor leaned back slightly, avoiding Ophelia's beautiful yet terrifying head.
"I developed a special connection with Pei'er, and we communicated briefly once. But after that, I just couldn't contact her anymore."
Thor turned his head and, without hesitation, leaned close to Ophelia's left ear, where only a head remained, and whispered.
"Lady Ophelia, I'm also very curious about the world beyond the stars, so... how about we cooperate?"
