Chapter 747 Fairy Spring

Chapter 747 Fairy Spring

Byron was somewhat confused and disappointed.

"Have I gone mad?" He didn't speak to the figure claiming to be a half-elf, but muttered to himself, "Although I've long noticed some mental problems, I didn't expect to go mad so quickly. Going mad to this extent must be mutation. But does a person's consciousness remain clear after mutation? Or is it that after my mutation, my spiritual consciousness is actually locked in a closed space in my brain? Hmm, I really want to record all of this!"

Half-elf: "..."

This was the first time the half-elf had encountered someone who gave up on treatment the moment they saw him.

"You haven't been corrupted yet, although there's a tendency towards it," the half-elf said after Byron stopped talking to himself. "I'm not dangerous enough to cause an ordinary wizard to be corrupted instantly."

"I am no ordinary wizard," Byron said with absolute certainty. "I am using the head of your Elf King."

"...That's why I can communicate with you directly."

"You said you're a half-elf, right? Why isn't it an elf who's communicating with me?" Byron immediately asked. "It's not that I look down on your bloodline, but in elven society, the Elven King should look down on half-elves, right? How could you be hiding in his head?"

This time, the colorful phantom spoke after a while, "Has it been too long since I've interacted with anyone?"

"I am not inside the Elf King's head; I am merely communicating with you through this medium. As for why it is me... it's because now, I am the only one who still remembers how to communicate with people."

"It seems elves are really having a hard time. You've appeared in my dreams many times, and this is the first time you've spoken. Is there something you need?"

"We've just detected the scent of the Fairy Spring. This is very important to you and to us."

"The Fairy Spring?" Byron became serious. Ever since he used the Elf King's head as a new locator, he had been paying attention to the legends of the elves.

Although the Fairy Spring Water is not the most frequently mentioned item in the legends, it is a very important one.

It is said that in the place where elves are most powerful, there is an elven spring, which is equivalent to giving elves a second life.

However, before the New Moon Era, the Fairy Spring began to gradually dry up, eventually becoming a legendary item.

The Fairy Spring has many functions, and one of the functions that Byron valued most was its calming effect on the spirits of fairies.

Using the Elf King's head as a new locator was an extremely risky move, but Byron, who had lost his original locator and body, had no other choice.

After obtaining the Elf King's head, Byron successfully advanced to become a full-fledged wizard, but he dared not continue to advance due to the side effects brought by the elves.

If he could obtain the Fairy Spring water, at least he would dare to continue trying.

So, even Byron got excited when he heard the news about the Fairy Spring.

No wizard wants to not advance further; many are even willing to risk their lives for it.

Byron was one of them.

"Where? Is it in no man's land?"

"have no idea."

Byron frowned. "Then how did you sense the presence of the elven spring?"

"I just know."

"You're being unreasonable."

The half-elf noticed Byron's anger and had to explain, "Before the elven incident, there wasn't a single drop of elven spring water left in this world. So when a new elven spring appeared, we could sense it immediately. This spring that appeared might have been sealed away or might not even be from this world."

"What does that fairy spring look like, and how do I find it?"

"The Fairy Spring looks just like any other spring, but you'll definitely recognize it when it's nearby."

"It's telepathy again. It's always the same. You elves always live so reliant on your intuition."

The half-elf fell silent.

His energy level seemed to prevent him from having much interaction with Byron.

Explaining this much to him is already the half-elf's current limit.

Byron opened his eyes and climbed up from the table.

Looking at the mess in front of him, he silently tidied everything up and then casually piled up the materials that were not currently in use in the corner of the room.

"I'm going out too," Byron said as soon as he stepped out the door to find the busy butler Hope.

"Yes, Lord Byron, where are you going? Do you need a vehicle? Or should I send a few apprentices with you? If the Tower Master returns, should we leave him a message?" the butler asked a series of questions.

But Byron just stared at Hope without saying a word.

Hope took a deep breath. "Okay, when are you leaving?"

"Now."

Hope immediately turned and pulled over a passing wizard apprentice. "Camilla, go and lead the dire wolf to the exit. When you pass the first floor, have Mings prepare two hundred magic crystals to take with you."

After doing all this, Hope turned back and smiled at Byron.

Byron nodded. "Thank you."

He went back to the lab to pack some necessities, then put on his cloak and went straight downstairs to the first-floor exit.

At this moment, the demon wolf was already lying at the door, while a thin boy next to it was holding a bag of magic crystals with a pained expression.

Byron did not know who the other person was.

There are now many more people in the wizard tower, and Byron only knows the two wizard apprentices who are his assistants.

He stepped forward, took the magic crystal, mounted the demon wolf, and prepared to set off.

However, before he could urge the demon wolf to get up, he suddenly heard a familiar bird call coming from above.

The moment he looked up, Thor teleported right in front of him.

"Byron, I'm back. What, are you going out?" Thor was carrying an unconscious orange cat in his hand.

"Yes, I'm going..."

Just as Byron was about to use a secret language to tell Thor that he was going to find the elven spring, he suddenly sensed a strange aura emanating from Thor.

The half-elf once said that he could sense the presence of the elven springs near Byron.

But now, how come Byron can sense the scent of the spring on Thor?

"Senior Byron!" A familiar voice came from above again.

Byron instinctively looked up; the sunlight overhead was somewhat dazzling, and he could only see a large bird and the silhouette of a person on it.

But the man's long red hair was very eye-catching, like a ball of flame.

The giant bird quickly landed beside Byron and Thor. The red-haired girl, whom they hadn't seen for several years, was riding on the bird's back, waving her arms excitedly at him.

"Ah, they've brought them back."

Byron was momentarily at a loss as to which question to ask Saul first.

……

Inside the Spirit Cleansing Wizard Tower, the butler Hope was reconciling accounts with Mings, a second-level wizard apprentice in charge of financial bookkeeping.

The Spirit Cleansing Wizard Tower is now the most powerful force in the No Man's Land. The number of people within the tower is increasing, and the city of Rhine outside is also rapidly developing and expanding. Although the Wizard Tower possesses much more wealth and magical resources, it must be even more careful with its spending.

Just as he was halfway through, Hope suddenly felt a familiar mental energy fluctuation coming from behind him.

He turned around in surprise and saw Byron walking briskly upstairs.

"Um, Lord Byron, is there something you forgot to bring?"

Byron walked up to Hope, paused, and said, "No... I'm just back from outside."

Hope opened her mouth, but could only say, "Welcome back."

Byron continued upstairs, his steps hurried.

Mings, standing nearby, whispered to Hope, "Butler, may I ask Lord Byron to return those two hundred magic crystals?"
