Chapter 71 The Man Trapped on the Back
Chapter 71 The Man Trapped on the Back
"Could it be that all three of them are actually the same person?"
Having already encountered many strange and unusual wizard apprentices, Thor speculated about the reason for the unusual behavior of the three people in front of him.
But he soon realized he was wrong.
The folding door was pushed open a crack, and a blond, blue-eyed boy walked out and nodded to the girl at the front of the line.
He then turned and left.
The men who came out were also wearing the same clothes, with the same second-level apprentice name tags pinned to their clothes.
The first female apprentice stepped through the crack in the door, and Kaz took the opportunity to lead Thor into the room.
Upon entering the room, Thor immediately used his peripheral vision to search for Rum's figure.
This room is indeed very large.
Due to the limited area of the Wizard Tower itself, its width is limited, but its length should be quite long.
The reason it is said that it should be is because only heavy curtains, seemingly made of leather, were hanging on both sides of the room.
Each curtain is one meter wide, made of thick material, and will not sway.
This room has no walls, only these curtains for privacy.
The female apprentice who had entered before Thor and his group had already moved to the right and lifted a curtain with her hand.
Thor peeked slightly and saw the "room" next door.
Then he saw a beam of light shining obliquely on the ground.
Thor blinked, feeling that the light was different from ordinary candlelight.
He suddenly felt a little nervous, but not because of the approaching Rum tutor.
"Rum?" Katz didn't rush into the spaces on either side, but instead raised his voice to ask.
"Hmph!" came a response from the right, but the tone of the voice didn't sound good.
"Hey."
Kaz raised his hand, gesturing for Thor to follow.
Together, the two of them lifted the curtain from where the apprentices had just passed, leading to the next "room".
The moment Thor passed through, he felt that the room was warmer than other places.
He instinctively looked in the direction of the warmth and saw it—sunlight!
He suddenly burst into tears.
On the outer wall, a small window, about one meter square, is embedded in the wall. The dark window opens outwards, but because of the thickness of the outer wall, only a small part of it is exposed outside.
That beam of light, shining through the thick outer wall, seemed to traverse an interstellar space, slanting across the ground and bringing a unique warmth to the entire cold room.
Thor hasn't seen the sun for over three months!
"There will be other opportunities in the future." He sighed inwardly, holding back the tears that were about to overflow his eyes, and quickened his pace to catch up with Instructor Kaz ahead.
After a few steps, only a faint mist remained in his eyes. Even when he passed through the pillar of light and personally felt the warmth of the light, he did not lose his composure.
Mentor Rum was sitting on the inside of the room, and Thor saw a mountain of flesh as he passed through the beam of light.
He had seen extremely obese people weighing several hundred pounds on television and on his phone. Many of them were so fat that they couldn't even move while lying in bed.
Even those people cannot be described as a mountain of flesh.
And this one in front of me is definitely a good option.
He was presumably male; his body was covered in fat, obscuring all external gender characteristics. His shoulder-length, messy blond hair hung down to his chin, supported by the fat on his cheeks. He had no beard, and his nose was sunken into the flesh of his cheeks. Only the area around his eyes was relatively flat.
His most prominent feature is his belly.
Her entire belly was layered with fat, making it impossible to distinguish where her chest ended and her lower abdomen began. Her legs were completely hidden under a puffy skirt of fat.
However, his arms were unusually thin, extending two meters from his shoulders, and divided into three sections, seemingly not human limbs.
Could this person be Rum?
The Mountain of Flesh ignored Kars and Thor as they entered, and instead used his incredibly long hands to grope the female apprentice who had entered earlier.
The female apprentice remained expressionless as he examined her entire body.
There was no obscene atmosphere here. Rum's expression was slightly scrutinizing and critical, as if he were inspecting a cabbage in a market to see if there were any rotten leaves.
"Go lie down on the stage."
The female apprentice was finally released and walked to a long, thin, cold iron table next to Rum, where she began to take off her clothes.
She wasn't wearing a shirt under her robe, but she was wearing trousers neatly on her lower body.
No one in the room turned their gaze away.
Even Thor watched silently.
He had seen many naked women in the morgue, but this was the first time he had seen one alive.
The female apprentice's movements were not slowed down at all by the presence of outsiders. After exposing her upper body, she silently lay down on the long iron bed, parted her blonde hair, and revealed her fair back.
Rum reached out his long, thin hands and gently pressed them against the female apprentice's back.
A golden rune array suddenly appeared in the middle of the latter's fair skin.
Interspersed among the intricate runes were lines and Noah's script. Thor had never seen such a magic circle before, and he couldn't help but take a second look.
Suddenly, in Thor's eyes, the golden runes shifted positions and formed a male face, with the rune eyes turning to stare at Thor.
Thor immediately looked down and averted his gaze.
They also missed the unexpected glance Rum gave them.
Before long, Rum finished his inspection and waved for the female apprentice to get dressed and leave.
"Not bad, next one."
The female apprentice remained expressionless, revealing no emotion.
After she left, Rum sighed softly.
He immediately composed himself, looked at Thor behind Kaz, and spoke to Kaz.
"This is the person you recommended? He killed my lab assistant. Why do you think I would agree to this?"
"Because he's suitable." Katz shrugged.
"Suitable? What do you think a new apprentice can possibly do?"
"If you don't know how, you can learn," Kaz said nonchalantly.
Rum gave a short, sharp laugh. "How long do you think he can waste my time?"
Katz, however, nonchalantly replied, "So what if we waste time? Haven't we wasted enough time already?"
Seeing that Katz wasn't in a very good mood, Rum softened his tone.
"You saw Kira?"
"She should be called Lady Kira now; she has advanced to the second rank."
"A second-tier wizard?" Rum was somewhat surprised, but quickly became dazed. "She's already advanced? But I'm afraid I'll never be able to advance in this lifetime."
Katz remained silent, seemingly agreeing with Rum's remark.
The room fell silent for a moment.
A moment later, the sound of a second male apprentice entering the room interrupted their thoughts.
Rum snapped out of his daze and said to Katz, "You go back. I need to test him. If he doesn't work out, I'll send him back alive."
Kaz hesitated for a moment. He glanced back at Thor, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he said nothing. He just patted Thor on the shoulder and left the room.
Thor didn't expect that either.
Shouldn't Professor Katz explain things about West Germany to him again?
He still felt that as long as Rum didn't kill him, it would be fine to let the matter drop, even if he suffered a little.
Rum cast a cold glance at him, making Solton feel as if he too had been stripped naked.
The second apprentice had already walked up to Rum.
Rum wasn't in a good mood, so he just pinched him a couple of times and then made him lie on the iron bed.
"Observe carefully, I'll ask you in a bit."
"Serious? Are you talking to me?"
Although still a bit confused about the situation, Saul saw that Rum had already started to act, so he quickly put himself into a semi-immersive meditative state.
This is his serious work attitude!
This time, from his perspective, the golden runes behind the male apprentice appeared and quickly formed a woman's head.
Despite his discomfort, Thor continued to stare at the changes in the runes, carefully examining and analyzing the function of each rune.
However, most of the runes in this magic circle were complex, some of which he had never even seen before. So after looking at it for a long time, he only had a superficial understanding.
But at that moment, he suddenly saw a white, semi-transparent human head burst out of the magic circle.
But there seemed to be a suction force on it, preventing him from getting away.
The facial features, stretched back to their limit, bore a striking resemblance to the female head composed of golden runes!
Thank you so much for the generous donation!
My new book is getting a strong recommendation! What a pleasant surprise! I should add an extra chapter to celebrate, but I was sick last week and didn't save any drafts. I'll try my best and finish the extra chapter this week!
Thank you all for your continued support. Please continue reading!
(Also, just whispering: This isn't just filler; a crisis needs villains, and new villains need time to appear.)
