Chapter 68 Get out, get out, get out!
Chapter 68 Get out, get out, get out!
When Luo Kai walked in, some people greeted him warmly, but when An Ze came in, even the most active apprentice lowered his head and kept quiet.
If Thor and Claire were sitting in the front row, they probably wouldn't dare to talk in such hushed tones.
Everyone's attention, including Luo Kai's, was focused on Anze.
Everyone watched as he slowly walked up to the podium and, with Luo Kai's help, sat steadily in the chair.
Like a person who is terminally ill.
"Today, because all the other instructors had something come up, my instructor Anze will be conducting the tests for everyone." Luo Kai continued to introduce everyone enthusiastically, completely ignoring Anze's bored and impatient expression behind him.
"Don't be nervous, everyone. Just do your best," Luo Kai reassured the newcomers.
"That's enough," Instructor Anze interrupted Luo Kai in a low voice.
Luo Kai showed no embarrassment whatsoever. He immediately shut up, stood respectfully to the side, and even had a slight smile on his face.
Anze leaned to the side, resting on the armrest of his chair, his eyes scanning the classroom without lingering on anyone.
"Testing them one by one is too much trouble." He curled his lip. "Those of you who don't meet my requirements, just leave."
The classroom grew increasingly quiet.
Thor and Claire stopped talking and exchanged a silent glance.
Several particularly nervous apprentices were breathing very noticeably.
"Anyone who hasn't mastered compound runes yet, get out!"
Anze's voice was as pale and weak as his appearance.
But at that moment, it was like a sharp thorn, piercing into everyone's ear canal.
Thor couldn't help but tilt his head slightly, not because he was weak, but because he keenly sensed the spiritual power contained in the voice.
Tough and ruthless.
A few seconds later, the two new apprentices stood up shakily and walked out with expressions of despair.
After they left, the classroom door closed immediately, leaving no one to guess what became of the two.
Before the newlyweds could even catch their breath, Anze spoke up again.
"Anyone who can only construct one composite rune, get out!"
This time the wait was even longer, about ten seconds, before two more people stood up in alarm.
They seemed to want to explain, but under Anze's imposing gaze, they couldn't utter a single word.
Two more newcomers left, and the doors closed quickly once again.
The atmosphere in the classroom became even more tense. That ordinary classroom door seemed to be the boundary between life and death; stepping out meant certain death.
However, Mentor Anze did not stop.
"Anyone who doesn't know level 0 magic, get out!"
Even with the professor's imposing presence, the classroom erupted in uproar.
The crowd seemed not to have heard what Instructor Anze said and were hoping he would change his mind.
But Anze just stared coldly at the classroom.
A moment later, about half of the newlyweds stood up.
They looked at each other blankly, then glanced at the people sitting next to them with suspicion.
It's as if they're saying, "Didn't you say it was too difficult? Didn't you say you couldn't do it?"
"Mentor, we..." A newcomer seemed to be trying to plead with Anze because of their numbers.
However, before Anze could even blink, Luo Kai smiled and pointed at the newcomer.
The newcomer hadn't realized anything was wrong; he babbled on and on, but didn't say anything more.
As the mouth moved, something fell out.
The person next to him looked down.
It was clearly half a tongue.
Everyone lowered their heads and quickly walked out the door, no longer daring to linger or offer any explanation.
Having witnessed the whole thing, Saul relaxed and leaned back in his chair.
"This is a show of force," he thought. "If there were really such strict testing rules, Anze would have just said that those who know witchcraft could stay. This layered screening is probably just a form of intimidation... is he trying to urge everyone to study hard?"
However, Anze still didn't stop.
"Anyone who only knows one level 0 spell, get out!"
For a long while, no one in the classroom stood up.
Because there are very few people in the entire classroom who know two or more level 0 spells!
This is equivalent to eliminating almost everyone!
Seemingly because the silence had been too long, Luo Kai, who was standing at the front, clapped his hands with a big smile, attracting everyone's attention.
"Everyone, hurry up! The instructor's time is very valuable."
The apprentices in the classroom then hesitantly and reluctantly stood up and walked out.
At the same time, they were also looking back to see if anyone else could pass under such harsh conditions.
Those who were eliminated secretly longed for no one to pass.
In this way, Mentor Anze will definitely change his conditions, and those of them who are eliminated in the last batch may be lucky enough to pass the test.
To their disappointment, there were actually three other people sitting comfortably in the classroom!
Holy crap, there's Thor too!?
Wasn't he supposed to have extremely low magical talent and have already been abandoned by his mentors?
How dare you still sit in the chair?
How can you still be sitting in a chair?
All eyes were fixed on Thor, but all he could do was switch legs.
Claire sat next to Thor, appearing relatively calm, but her hands, hidden under the table, were clenched into fists.
The third person sitting down was the one who truly surprised Thor.
It was Angela?
Thor glanced over and saw that Angela's face was also a little pale, but she didn't seem as nervous as Claire.
Thor touched his left hand and then switched legs.
Countless newlyweds left in astonishment and dejection.
After the last person left, the door closed tightly again.
"Only three left?" Instructor Anze looked dissatisfied. "These new recruits these days have no sense of urgency at all."
He tapped his hand lightly on the podium a few times and uttered a string of cold words.
"Luo Kai, those who left the classroom are not properly registered. Dispose of them."
"Huh?" Luo Kai, who had been smiling, suddenly widened his eyes and shouted out the question on behalf of the other three people.
"Teacher, really? So many people have been deemed unqualified? Oh dear, there are many members of the mutual aid group among them who study very hard. Please give them another chance."
Anze snorted coldly, "Looks like your mutual aid society isn't very useful. You might as well disband it to save yourself the trouble."
Luo Kai, unfazed by An Ze's expression, continued to plead for the students outside.
He has a sweet tongue, and a string of nice words just keeps coming out.
"Then you figure it out, don't bother me." Seemingly getting impatient, Anze finally relented.
Upon hearing this, Thor and Claire exchanged a glance, both feeling uneasy.
If Luo Kai decides whether new students are qualified, the mutual aid society's prestige will likely increase even further.
Is Teacher Anze putting on a show with Luo Kai?
Could the real mastermind behind the mutual aid society be a mentor?
What purpose would a formal wizard have in secretly forming a small group of new recruits within a wizarding tower that was not particularly large to begin with?
Was it for prestige, wealth, or...witchcraft materials?
Luo Kai, having received An Ze's orders, happily went out to appease the newbies outside.
Anze's gaze swept over the three remaining apprentices in the classroom again, finally settling on Angela, who was sitting alone in the corner.
"You, come here and demonstrate the witchcraft you know."
Although Angela looked somewhat uneasy, she moved swiftly, walking directly to Anze without making anyone wait.
"Mentor Anze, my name is Angela, and I know two level 0 spells."
Angela's voice was very soft, and Thor almost didn't hear her.
At the instruction of her mentor Anze, Angela unleashed two level 0 spells.
Both of these spells belong to the dark attribute, and Thor has not yet come into contact with them.
The magic Angela demonstrated didn't seem to have much combat power, so I don't know why Angela chose to learn these two level 0 spells first.
Anze tapped his fingers lightly twice on the table.
Thor saw Angela's hand, which was behind her back, twitch violently twice.
"Light-blocking spell and Evil Spirit Detection... while they don't offer much combat power, they're two very easy-to-learn spells. The quantity is just right to meet my minimum requirements. Hey, do you have any relatives who have ever stayed in the Wizard's Tower?"
Successfully advanced from two to three! Thank you all for reading and your support!!!
