Death Wizard Diary.
Chapter 66 Hello, Senior; Goodbye, Senior
Chapter 66 Hello, Senior; Goodbye, Senior
Rocky was put into the large box where the corpses were placed.
Next up is Duke.
Duke is also cursed.
The exploding flint in his hand contained the most dangerous of the triple curses: the Shadow Curse Worm.
Duke's death was the final step in awakening the cursed insect.
"Sidd probably thought that even if Duke failed to kill you, he could use his death to activate a curse and kill you just the same way."
At this point, Byron touched his Adam's apple curiously.
"I'm not surprised you could dodge the exploding firestone, and I'm just a little surprised you could dodge the cursed insects. But how could you even simulate a reaction like spitting out black blood?"
"Uh." Thor went to his cabinet and took out a small, dark red potion.
"This is a byproduct of my body modification. I call it concentrated blood plasma, which turns into a large amount of blood once activated. It can also be colored by adding pigments as needed."
Non-toxic and harmless, a must-have for faking death.
In TV dramas, it is commonly referred to as a blood pack.
"As for why it's black blood..." Thor couldn't very well say it was from the diary, "Loki's dagger is poisoned, and I thought that pretending to be poisoned would lower the guard of the enemies who follow."
In fact, Saul had taken a drug that slowed his breathing and reduced his heart rate, which was meant to induce a state of apparent death.
It's mainly just in case.
Thor took Duke's wallet and put his body in a large box to keep Rocky company.
Byron tells Thor that the bodies of Rocky and Duke are both corrupted by the Triple Curse.
This is the same as with Jenna before.
Their deaths all point to Thor, and once they are all dead, the Shadow Cursed Worms hidden in the exploding flint will appear and try to burrow into Thor's body and devour his flesh.
This was something neither Byron nor Kongsa had anticipated.
Because they lacked a crucial prerequisite: West Germany could not directly attack Saul, the owner of the diary.
Unless West Germany abandons the Death Wizard's Diary.
Therefore, the most powerful attack that Byron and Consa considered was for Sid to personally kill Saul, disregarding the risk of punishment.
But in reality, West Germany chose a costly and extremely troublesome method to kill Saul.
This is probably why Kongsa became curious about the entanglement between West Germany and Sol.
If Thor hadn't also been wary of Kongsa, and hadn't used Byron, who was already a Level 3 Apprentice, as another trump card, things would have been much more complicated today.
Ever since learning from the diary that Kongsa had used him without regard for her own life, Saul had no intention of letting Kongsa continue to be his protector.
It's fine as it is now; it's become an exchange of benefits.
It's likely that Kongsa had already guessed that Thor hadn't taken the medicine she gave him at all.
After settling things over, Byron took out a pamphlet and started writing and drawing, deducting the fees for explaining the knowledge of curses and inspecting the morgue.
Having confirmed that there were no other threats in the morgue, Byron bid farewell to Saul and went back to sort through his day's haul.
In the third morgue, only Thor remained.
Thor walked to Sid's mangled body and moved it onto the teleportation platform.
He turned around and picked up several sharp knives from the messy workbench, then said respectfully to the two severed corpses, "Hello, senior."
He paused, then gave a pale smile. "Goodbye, senior."
……
Thor shivered.
He opened his eyes, and the cold touch all over his body made him realize that he was completely naked.
The ceiling above was illuminated by pale candlelight.
Unknown symbols spun and danced before his eyes, and a cold aura accompanied by faint weeping burrowed into Thor's skin like tiny insects.
"Tap, tap, tap..."
Footsteps are approaching.
For some reason, Thor suddenly felt a strange fear.
He sat up abruptly and found himself lying on the teleportation platform in the morgue.
The black leather beneath him felt tough to the touch; he was being treated the same way as the other guests in the morgue.
"Tap, tap, tap..."
The footsteps grew clearer.
Thor swallowed hard.
But my throat was so dry and sore.
Looking to the side, the crimson door of the morgue was not completely closed.
Behind the palm-width gap lay a deep, dark void.
And after the darkness comes the gradually clearer fear.
"Tap, tap, tap..."
The footsteps were so loud they could practically see through the crack in the door!
Thor jolted awake, forgetting all about why he was lying on the teleportation platform, and immediately jumped barefoot to the ground.
He had a premonition that if the owner of the footsteps discovered him, the consequences would be terrible!
"We need to hide!"
He looked around the room.
There were no corpses, no blood, and no scattered tools.
Yu Guangzhong seemed to see a pale hand pressing on the scarlet door.
Without further hesitation, Thor immediately crawled into the large box under the control panel.
The door must have been pushed open silently.
Because Thor heard the footsteps already inside the room.
"He came to see me!"
Thor was absolutely certain, though he still couldn't figure out who was looking for him.
"The lid should be on." Thor thought anxiously, staring at the dark underside of the workbench above him. "But I don't have time."
Footsteps were lingering in the room; reaching for the lid now would only attract attention.
"This big box is right under the control panel, and it's covered by four walls, so as long as you don't stick your head in, you shouldn't be able to see me."
Thor lay pressed tightly against the ground, not daring to move an inch, and barely breathing.
Suddenly, the footsteps grew closer.
Getting closer.
It stopped next to Thor.
There was some static noise coming from the control panel above my head, but it quickly disappeared.
"Why is there no sound?" Thor wondered, glancing outside.
But I don't dare.
"Why is there no footsteps outside? Wait, did he spot me?"
Is he bending over?
"Is he about to squeeze his head into the gap between the control panel and the large box?"
"he……"
……
"call!"
Thor sat up abruptly, breaking out in a cold sweat.
"I had another dream." He frowned, got out of bed, changed into his pajamas, and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead with his clothes.
"I've had the same nightmare for two days in a row, but I can't tell what's wrong in the dream, I don't even know I'm dreaming. In the dream, I don't even have the courage to resist, all I feel is fear, as if I've returned to the time when I was first transmigrated into a servant."
The fear of waiting for the unknown to appear was very clear.
Even now that Thor is awake, he can still recall the helplessness he felt in his dream.
He had a vague feeling that the events in his dream were not simple.
If he were actually discovered by the person who was looking for him in his dreams, something terrible would happen.
I had almost the same dream for two days in a row. And today, the dream took a new turn; the owner of the footsteps seemed to have discovered him.
If Thor hadn't woken up in time, a human face might have really appeared above him!
"In tonight's dream, the owner of those footsteps was about to discover me. If I have the same dream again tomorrow, will I be discovered?"
It was just a dream, yet it already made Thor uneasy.
He turned his head to look at the diary on his left shoulder.
The diary is sound asleep.
"If I encounter danger in a dream, will my diary warn me?"
"Let me go see Senior Byron again this afternoon to have him check me out."
Why in the afternoon?
Because Saul couldn't skip class this morning.
This morning was their first test as first-level apprentices.
